I bought these for my husband. It was great to find such a great looking, sporty shoe in 4E width! The leather upper will be much warmer than mesh for walking outside in the winter. I'm going to buy him a second pair for refereeing. (Yes, they were squeaky right out of the box, but I'll try the talcum powder idea if it doesn't go away. No big deal for such a comfortable shoe.)

Fits as promised, excellent work sneaker

I have lost count of how many pairs of Air Monarchs I have bought over the years. I'm guessing around 10. They are very comfortable for walking, hiking on smooth trails or short runs. My Birkenstock cork insoles fit nicely inside and make the shoes even more comfortable. As far as style, I don't mind the look, but my kids refer to them as "Dad shoes". The soles wear out fairly quickly when walking on concrete, but that is the price you pay for nice cushioning and great comfort. Occasionally, some shoes develop a terribly loud squeaking noise. When that happens, I gently remove the insole and pour a generous amount of baby powder inside, then replace the insole. After wearing for about 20 minutes, the noise disappears. I will continue to buy this model of shoe as long as it remains available. The price is also great compared to more modern looking shoes.

It seems like these shoes get a little worse every year - Nike is cheaping out on materials. I keep buying then because it is the best STANDING shoe out there - a category no one realizes we need! I wear custom orthotics, and they will fit in the wides. Brushing a little baby powder on the soles and wiping it off will cure the noise until they get wet again. Nike COULD make these the greatest most comfortable shoe like the originals were ( very much the walking on a cloud feeling ) with the lunarlon or pebax they put in other models. But they won't, and it's a little disappointing.

Today was the first time I wore them for an extended period. They were reasonably comfortable. I believe they will be acceptable for daily wear.

Lightweight, seem to wear well and there is a one-piece molded sole which I liked. Good for the price to wear as a work shoe for the yard or household chores.

Look is a little boxy but overall a nice shoe that feels really comfortable.

I just purchased my 3rd pair of Nike Air Monarch shoes. I usually walk several miles a day and these are the best, most comfortable shoes I have found. I would give them 5 stars except after they have been worn for a few months, they develop an annoying squeak. It doesn't both me when I'm walking but it does my wife when she is with me. These shoes are not the most stylish, but tey wear well and I usually rotate the "old" pair to use out in the yard after a new pair is broken in.

Nice tennis shoes and Zappos service was excellent.

Have had this size and width before but this pair tore my feet up, I’m usually quite happy with Nike monarchs

Very comfortable. I got the all black pair. My friends say they're ugly, but I like them.

These looked better in the pictures. They are heavier than I expected and will be returning them, unfortunately.

Cushioning felt good, but the shoe rubbed against ankle bone on outside.

I just went with 4 stars because, to me, the shoes are "fine", but not outstanding. They fit well and certainly serve my purposes! And these are certainly competitively-priced Nikes.

Great shoe!! I have bought a pair every year for the past 6yrs (sometimes twice) compare to other brands nothing comes close to the arch support and that why I continually buy the monarchs and yes they are noisy most likely due to amount of tread, but I can live with for the support. But lets make one thing clear for the price go for it! The greatest fit will always belong to the Air Jordan's Mike wore as part of the dream team, there has never been a better sneaker made in my opinion and that is why the expense.

Not bad,very comfortable

This is alright shoe. Not one of my favorite pair of Nike's that I have ever bought but not bad enough to return them. It's a clunky shoe that has great support and performs like a Nike.

I have owned 3 pairs of Nike Air Monarch IV's and in general I have had good luck with them. They are comfortable on my feet, when I usually find that shoes pinch my 'ring' toes, which is rare to find. For my work I am on my feet for 9 hours a day, and typically walk 10-12 miles each day. The I do not suffer from foot pain wearing these like I did when I used to wear other tennis/trainers. They typically last me around 6 months of use, or around 1,400 miles before I have to replace them. On one pair I owned, the rubber traction sole on the bottom was not properly glued on, so after about 200 miles it started squeaking. This was fixed easily with some strong adhesive.

Seems like a good show so far. It is a bit small but perhaps it will give a bit as I wear it more.

I have had the Nike Air Monarch shoe a couple of times before and like that there is plenty of room for my toes. I have large feet (14) and these are one of the few models that actually feel comfortable from the start. They take a little breaking in, but in a couple of weeks they feel like old friends.

Its very difficult to find shoes in stores that will fit my sons size 15 foot. My go to is Zappos.com they always have a large selection to choose from and a variety of style,and prices.

I have bought two pairs of these and they are a solid, functional shoe. I actually prefer true running shoes for casual outings, but I always wear a hole through the mesh of running shoes from my left big toe. (I have funky feet). Anyway the Monarch uppers are leather and don't wear through like mesh. The shoes are comfortable and look nice enough to wear for any casual event. The price is quite reasonable as well. They are a bit heavier than running shoes but not so much that it's noticeable. For $55 you can't go too wrong.

I ordered a 6.5XW felt they were too big so I ordered a 6XW. The 6XW was about 3/4 of an inch narrower in width which ended up being way too small Why would that be?

Quick shipping. The shoe could use a little less padding on the back of the ankle but good overall.
