This is my second time ordering these boots. The first time I order my size 9 and they were just too tight, had return. This time after reading reviews I ordered up a 1/2 size and they fit perfectly. For full disclosure my feet are very narrow. Overall, these boots are very comfortable and go with everything. Love them!!

I love the look of these boots but theyre not very comfortable and very hard to get on and off. Im hoping they get more comfortable as I break them in.

This is my fourth pair of Veronica combats.
I picked the wine suede (so beautiful in person) and I get so many compliments on them.
These are by far the softest and had the least break in time of all the others. No blisters.
Comfortable right out of the box.
Size up as always with this style

The boots are beautiful, but I'm trying to decide if I should send them back. Everyone said they ran large and Frye recommended I size up, which I did. But the heel slips slightly with walking. Not sure if my actual size would be too small??

Very narrow, go 1/2 size up for more comfort. If you are considering the tall Veronica the leg measurements posted are not accurate, they are much wider at the calf.. very disappointing and not customer support on the matter. If you are looking for a size that is unavailable and on sale, they will not honour the price when they do become available. Filters on pre loved are not working. Love the quality but low score for service and misinformation. My first pair of Frye boots was 45 yrs ago and Im on my 5th pair.

These combat boots are fantastic. Despite being a size 6.5, I opted for a size 7 to accommodate my wide feet and the thick socks I sometimes wear they fit perfectly! Initially, I was worried about comfort, but after breaking them in for a day, I wore them to an outdoor Halloween event with excellent results. Even with flat feet, I wasnt tired, and my feet felt fine, which was a wonderful surprise. However, toward the end of the night, my right boot began rubbing against my Achilles, but pulling up my ankle socks resolved the issue promptly. I've had no problems since then. The boots also drew great compliments from both family and peers. I definitely recommend these boots.

Of all the boots I've ever owned, these are absolutely The Most Uncomfortable. It's not that they're stiff/not broken in, it's that there's almost zero padding in the foot bed. After wrestling with thoughts of returning them, I bought some thin gel insoles; they helped, but now the boots are a bit too snug across the tops of my feet. I love the look, but should've listened to Myles Kennedy!

I bought the burgundy color. The base is made really well and with the suede it doesnt take too long to break them in. They go with pretty much everything and I appreciate that the bottom is not smooth but has some ruggedness to wear in wet weather.

You have to size up they are very narrow. I usually wear an 8, 8.5 was still too narrow, otherwise great shoes. Also not all the style are narrow like this so it makes it difficult for online shopping, but making an exchange was easy.

The boots are well made and very comfortable. So far they have been great. I am between 7.5/8 when it comes to boots and I got the 8. While I might have been able to wear a 7.5, I do have a wider foot so not sure if the 7.5 would be too narrow. Wearing a little thicker socks helps with the 8.

Although I loved these boots dearly, every year they needed to be repaired. Resoled, tear in the leather, and overall wear and tear that didnt make sense for the wear they were getting. I thought Id have them for life.

Each boot was actually a different shade of black. There was a large glue stain on the instep of one boot. The toe of one shoe looked like it had been worn, and scuffed. Extremely disappointed in craftsmanship, particularly for $300 boot. I wouldnt have paid 20 for the quality I received.

OK so Ill admit, when I first tried these on I was SO disappointed. I was dying to get them and these are the nicest boots I've ever bought. I decided to treat myself to a gorgeous pair of boots during a little shopping spree - and these boots caught my eye. As much as I loved the heeled boots, I'm not really a heel girl and I wanted boots I could wear all the time and would look put together with everything I wore. Luckily, I had seen these exact boots in a store nearby a few weeks ago, and I tried on my normal size (7.5) and they felt SO small, I was confused. So I knew that I had to at LEAST size up a half size. I was hesitant and considered even sizing up a whole entire size because I was so nervous that they wouldn't fit.
Fast forward to me receiving my boots. I RAN out of my office and outside to grab the box. I was almost late to a work meeting because I was too busy admiring these boots. They are GORGEOUS. Then....I tried them on. I have "bunyons" (gross word) aka boney feet. They are mostly narrow, but my big toe knuckle bone sticks out a little bit so when I first tried these on (with really thin socks) I was devastated. The rock solid side of the boot smashed into my boney foot and I felt so defeated. I packed them back up and left the box on the counter for the return.
Luckily, I took some time to research leather boots on youtube. I discovered what a good size is, how to stretch, the break-in to expect, and I decided to give them a second try. I put on some thicker boots, unlaced them completely and slipped them back on.
OH.MY.GOD. They are SO beautiful. I have been wearing them around my house for an hour now and I am absolutely obsessed. They are gorgeous, just...gorgeous. I'm about to buy a few more things to take good care of them (cedar insert to keep their shape, leather conditioner, extra laces) and I couldn't be happier and cant wait to wear them.
Moral of the story - if you have boney feet - size up at least a half size, and don't give up on them too quickly. They are worth it!!

These boots are delightful. The pattern is subtle and the leather is so soft. The ankles are a bit narrow so ordering up is a good idea. Wore them for a full work day (I stand and walk a lot) and they were perfectly comfortable right out of the box. They were a bit big at a half size up so I added an insole and now they are absolutely perfect.

I bought these last year. Keep in mind I am 71 years old and I bought my first pair of frye boots when I was in my 40s. It was a pair of Carson boots on sale and I didnt really know what I was buying but when I put those shoes on and could teach school all day wearing them I was a goner. I think I now have every style of Frye boot there is.And I even have several pairs of flats and have found sandals etc. They are so well-made that I finally got my son into a pair of frye boots When he was in college and thats all he wants to wear now. Hes now 34 years old and to him a great Christmas present is a pair of frye boots. My only problem now is that I have so many that I dont have anywhere to put them. During the winter I keep them in boxes with the toes stuffed and I make sure I polish them before I put them up for the summer. Take care of them and they will last you forever. In my opinion they will always be in style. Spot on. I even have the white ones

Comfortable right out of the box, edgy menswear look with a feminine fit. Shaft height and heel height are spot on for a cool vibe with a comfortable wear-all-day fit.

Three years ago I started to teach elementary school and realized I needed a pair of shoes that were:
1) Comfortable enough that I could stand/walk all day in them.
2) Sturdy enough to withstand winter in NYC.
3) Something a little more professional than a sneaker.
These boots met all three of these requirements with flying colors with the bonus that they didn't need to be broken in (first wear was for 8 hours of teaching and 2 hours of travel and not even a whisper of a blister). I'm going on year three of wearing them literally every day of teaching from September to May. I got them resoled a few months ago to freshen them up, so they were nice enough again to wear to a memorial. The laces are just now giving out, which is why I'm back on the Frye website and decided to write this review. These boots are amazing and I highly recommend them - they will last forever.
