I really like this hat. I ordered a size large initially (as that tends to be the right size) and found it to be a bit too big. With a 23" head I found the medium to be a better fit.

Great hat, brim is wide enough to keep the sun off but not overly big so that it is flopping around and getting in the way. Even though it is not ventilated with any holes, it remains cool on top of your head. When referring to the size chart, note that the number next to the size is the max for that size.

Overall this is a nice hat. This hat has a stiff brim and is cut to wear low (good to keep off sun). My only complaint is that the chin strap is located by your ears. It is irritating to have the strap touching them. I would like this hat more if the straps were located more to the front like the Seattle Sombrero.

Bought this hat for my boyfriend since he works outdoors so much. He really likes the brim and it fits him well.

The pull strap around the brim kept the hat securely on my head even during high winds. It was great that the hat layed flat and stored in the suit case.

Outstanding hat which exceeds by expectations for fit, style, weight, color, and shading. Fast shipping by Zappos as always. Now shopping for another OR hat in a different color for yard work. This one is too nice.

I got this hat as a gift for my dad. He likes it. Says it has a snazzy adjustment mechanism.

I like the look of this hat and it fits well. However I have yet to use it in the sun, that will be in March. So I cannot really rate it.

I brought this hat off Zappos, 2 months ago. Its very light and has a wide brim, great for covering your neck, ear area. I forgot to add, its very light material and Zappos thanks for the fast shipping!

Great hat for the beach, comfortable and cool. Built in elastic cord allows for the removal of chin strap, if you like.

I had more trouble finding an appropriate hat than I thought I would. I need one for driving convertible sports cars, and want sun protection, and a visor that will help me see traffic by shading my eyes, but, primarily, one that won't blow off my head, in the cars. This is a well-made hat, and is exactly as-advertised, but I would have preferred a more rigid bill, as it can flop at high speeds which I love attaining. I haven't tried laundering it yet, but it appears to be sturdily-constructed. The chin string is essential for me, and it appears there aren't that many hats that offer one, unless I move to Australia. G'day.

I purchased the orange hat and it's such a fun color. This hat does not make my head sweaty and it covers my face, neck, and shoulders from the sun. The drawstring is perfect and the underbrim is dark gray so it doesn't reflect the sun into your eyes. Perfect for my beach days, paddleboard outings, fishing trips, hikes, and boat days. I recommend this product!

This is exactly what I was hoping for. The hat has a wide brim to shield me from the sun, which is necessary for me as I work outside in many ecosystems including the desert. The brim is stiff, it keeps its shape well and the hat breathes well enough that I don't feel like my head is sweating more than normal. Overall pleased with this purchase.

Living in West Africa, it was either humid and hot or dry and hotter. The Helios sun hat was literally a life saver - or at least a scalp and ear saver! My pewter hat faded to a very light grey under the constant sun. Near the end of my time there the fabric started to feel a bit brittle or crusty, but it was worn every day, soaked in sweat, soaked by rain storms and snatched off my head by the pet monkey. I ordered another once I got home. It (and a spare) will go with me on the next trip, guaranteed. The hat was comfortable, durable and protected my head from sunburn. Exactly what I wanted it to do.

Held its form well. Looked great on my wife, floats, stays in with toggles. I went and grabbed one after her success.

My husband has his first one for over 20 yrs , only had to replace due to sweat & paint stains Only problem , his old one was XL & so I got same size. & it was too big

Breaths fairly well. Keeps the sun off ya like you would expect. Got it on sale and would buy it again if I needed to replace it.

An ok "boonie-style" sun hat. This is my third Helios, but I am not really sold on this latest version. Brim is too stiff and the fabric is not as nice. Shipping took a while longer than it should, due to the Covid virus and short staffing.

I have owned seven of these hats counting the four I just ordered in multiple colors. There is no better hat made!

I bought this for a vacation and it did great and continues to do well.

This is the most versatile sun hat I have owned. It is my go to for mowing the lawn to beach and/or mountain vacations. I have two different colors. The hat is well made, and comfortable.

I have one of these from 2009. Still in great shape. Excellent sun protection for the ears and neck as well as the face.

Love this hat. This is my daily go-to except for bad rain, when I use the Seattle Sombrero. Brim is wide enough to give decent face and neck sun protection, but light enough to wear all day long. The brim is semi-formable and doesn't flop much at all. The only real issue with the hat is sizing. You really need to try them on, aa even in same sizing, head circumference varies a lot and is not consistent. Also varies significantly based on color. Easy to do if you buy it in-person, but I wouldn't buy online unless you're okay with possibly going through a return/exchange process. Would gladly buy again and likely will if I ever lose this one.
