The brim is very shallow so you're not going to get protection from the sun unless it is directly overhead. And this hat is HOT. Doesn't seem to breathe well at all.

I like the weight of this hat and I bought one for my husband and one for me. His hat looks fine on him and the brim lies flat, but no matter what I attempt on my hat, (blocking, bending, stretching), I can't get the brim to lie flat and the hat just looks ridiculous. I think there is something wrong with the way my Helios was made. I plan to return it and get another one.

This hat came condensed in a pouch and, as soon as I opened it, I realized I wasn't going to be happy with this purchase. It was incredibly flimsy and did not have the style or look or feel I was expecting. I filled out the return request that next morning. By the way, it arrived in an Amazon pouch yet Zappos return policy dictated the return had to be in a physical box ... the original packaging wasn't sufficient ... that made it more irksome in my opinion.
