Good fit, fast shipping and definitely wind proof. The only complaint I have is it is not warm. I wear a beanie hat on top of it and it's fine but without that it's pretty much just wind proof without warmth.

Great hat. Plenty warm so far although I haven't been in conditions below 30 degrees. Only fault I see is that the ear coverings are kinda loud.

Hearing is an issue with this hat but that's the price you pay for solid wind protection. If you want to hear, simply tie up the ear flaps to expose your ears. The hat is great for low output cold windy days.

Great hat! Use this for harder work on glacier and it keeps me warm in the wind while not being too insulated I sweat

Handles wind quite well, I just wish it was a bit warmer...the fleece is kinda thin. Chin cord keeps it in place in very high winds; ear flaps do muffle sound quite a bit.

Many years ago I had this exact hat, but in fleece...it was the perfect hat, and I was hoping to replace the original one which I've been unable to find in our home...I was so psyched when I found your website, and saw the hat there, but upon receipt, was disappointed to see it wasn't fleece...but another type of fabric. Not sure it will keep me warm when the temps drop down...but I do love the style so much. If you make it again in fleece, soft, warm fleece, I'll buy two of them...

True to size. Use for hiking/ snow shoeing and tower work. Like the ear coverage.

I purchased the same hat 20 years ago and recently lost it. The new model pales in comparison to what I originally purchased - thinner material, weaker stitching, less durable feel.

Nice and warm but it's pretty noisy rubbing on my ears.

Warm. Really slim/tight fit. Looks like a skull cap on me, which doesn't look great. But it's functional.

A light amount of insulation make this hat good for moderate activity when cold (-5C - -25C). It's light, easy to tuck away, and the draw string works to batten the hatches or flip up the ears. It fits nicely under a helmet and cuts wind great when cinched. What keeps me from wearing this hat often is it looks dorky and doesn't feel cozy warm, so for kicking around you'll want a different hat on a colder day. Also, it muffles a lot of sound, maybe it's the Windstopper.

I thought this hat would be more substantial. I couldn't believe this hat was in the package when it arrived. What I was hoping to be a serious Winter hat turned out to be a thin, minimal, sporty hat meant more for running or as a helmet liner. It does have a strong seal around your face but this also acts like a tympanum (like a stethoscope) to magnify rubbing or tapping near your ears. Fit on the headband was too tight for my 23.5 head. I would definitely size this as L rather than L/XL.

I ordered a large but extra large would probably have worked if available. It wasn't. I was pleased with weight and feel of the beanie and would have found a niche among my hats had it fit.
