Finally! My quest for the perfect black suede boots has ended! These were the fifth pair I tried, all size 9, and the first to be wide enough in the foot. Pluses: these are waterproof, comfy right out of the box, and have a nice heel height. They're pretty plain one buckle and I was looking for something a bit more bohemian/combat/biker, but comfort overrules all else for me. Expensive but I am not regretting it!

Nice boot but the suede is not the color on the website. It's a darker, more bland gray/green to my eye. Not the rich brown I'd hoped. Therefore the boot looks like many others in a lower price range... not a $500 shoe!

They are heavy-looking, and they dug into my ankles in a way that was uncomfortable. It's too bad since I love La Canadienne as a brand but these were not for me.

The quality of the boot seemed excellent, and I thought they were gorgeous, but I had not confidence in the fit. My medium width heel and mid-foot slid around in all three sizes I tried, and every time I stepped down I felt slightly unstable, despite the substantial heel.

These look smart, have great grip and are well made. Ordered 1/2 size smaller than usual, but they are still a little big. Initially thought thicker socks would do the trick, but they are wide in the toe. Adding a fleece liner made the heel too tight. Ordered these to replace La C Hunter boots which are absolutely gorgeous and would have been perfect, but one boot was sized differently than the other and Zappo's had no more inventory in my size. I'll make these work since they were worn outside one day, but these are expensive boots that are just ok. Have had much better fit experience with Artitalia.

This is beautiful boot but runs large and wide. It is not as large and wide as Charlotte (also La Canadienne). But still much too wide for someone with a narrow foot. Sadly, had to return it.

They stained my light colored jeans and cords black!

I really wanted to love these boots but I just tried them on and there is almost no arch support. I stand at work all day so that is a deal killer for me. They are very cute, though.

These looked like Olive Oyle's boots! Just a weird bulbous front and they were too long. Love the brand- not these boots.

the footbed was long for an 8. narrow too. just so awkward a fit. back they go. they are more of a dusty tan.

I have bought many of these boots over the years. This year boots are made with lower quality. Hard piece is too rigid in heel counter. Boots do not slip on easily. I’m afraid my feet will hurt if I wear them. Not like before.

Let me say, I love these boots. The leather is so soft, they are really pretty, and they are lined with some super soft material. They also *would* have been really comfortable if the pair I received weren’t defective - there was a misplaced nail or something poking up into the sole of the boot, and thence into my heel. Sadly my size is sold out now so I can’t exchange; I like them enough I thought about taking them to a cobbler, but for over $400 I really feel like they should be wearable out of the box. I am so sad, but have to return them, and say that La Canadienne might be a good brand but unfortunately their quality is not consistent.

I just received my second pair of these boots. I wore my first pair so much that they are now my "work boots." I ordered (and returned) three pair of Frye's before getting my second pair of these (I am sure Zappos was ready to give up on me!). NO BOOT is more comfortable. After having these boots, I am spoiled. I can't take stiff and uncomfortable footwear. And they are waterproof -- after almost four years, I am an expert on this.

These are really cute and comfortable shoes but are cheaply made and totally not worth the price. I bought these thinking they would last at least a year but the leather strap holding the buckle broke in one month and the zipper broke on the other shoe after 2 months. I am totally disappointed. Look to another brand if you need a quality shoe that will last.
