I have had these shoes for going on five years now and they have been amazing! I am going to be buying another pair as I have almost worn through the soles of the old ones. There is nothing wrong with the old ones at all - nothing has come unglued and no stitches have come out. There has been some wear on the leather around the toes of the shoe but I consider that to be par for the course for a pair of shoes that I have worn nearly every day for so long. I did find that after a while I needed to put in a different insole, which was fine by me as I have a pair of custom ones that I love. Unlike other shoe manufacturers, Merrell makes it so the insoles are easily swapped with whichever brand you like best. The only reason I rated this shoe "3" for comfort instead of "5" is that I found the original insole to be not quite as cushy as I would like - although I do like a super cushy shoe! But they're perfect with the custom insoles.

I have been having trouble finding a shoe that is roomy in the toe-box (to work with orthotics) but is small enough in the heel to stay on my foot - THESE WORK. I wish manufacturers would make more STYLISH and AFFORDABLE shoes with a "tall" toe box along with a normal heel width - I do not care for the mary jane style ... I would buy more shoes but the choices are slim.

I really wanted to like this cute shoe. It looks good enough for business casual office wear, and yet I've always heard that Merrell makes some really comfy shoes. Sadly, not for me - or any of us with Wide feet. Normally I wear a 9.5 wide, but sometimes can get away with a 10 medium. In this case, I couldn't even get the 9.5 on, it was so skinny! The 10 was too long, causing my foot to slip and the heel to rub, creating nasty blisters. Dear Merrell, please start offering cute mocs like this on a wide sizing. Also, not at all safe to walk around on wet surfaces with. Very slick on wet tile, asphalt, and concrete.

I love these shoes! I have issues with my legs hurting. They felt great from the first wear. My Dansko days are over!

I love my Merrells! As New Yorker, I know from walking, and the encore is a well made great shoe. They wear better than my Keens and the support feels better as well. I haven't worn this model that long, but it seems consistent with my others so far.

I have leg trouble, and I only wear Merrell's. All my other Merrell's are suede. They are uber comfortable, but I cook a lot, and the suede ones don't look good with spots all over them. I wanted something I could clean and also looked more dressy. These fill the bill. A little stiffer than the suede ones, but that's fine. Hard to get on the first few times - I had to buy a shoehorn, but extremely comfortable and supportive for long walks and on-your-feet work.

Best shoes I have ever worn! And I have tried many high quality brands such as Ecco and others that provide "shock absorbent" heels to minimize back problems. I will forever buy Merrell Encore Eclipse for work and everyday wear.

I love these shoes. I originally bought them as a back up to my Keens for a trip to Europe. They performed great there and lasted over 5 years. I just replaced them today. These are my dressier shoes as I am on my feet all day at work and usually wear Keens or Danskos. Merrell thanks for keeping these in production!

This is my second pair of these particular shoes, my first pair lasted me about 3-4 years before I felt I needed to replace them; these shoes allow me to be on my feet sometimes for 12+ hours at a time without my feet hurting.

The arch support is wonderful and I know I have the traction in the winter months. They are great to wear under pants as the style is a little more dressed up.

These shoes are the most comfortable shoes. They have great arch support! I love them!

Lucky Duck I am...found these on sale. Love Merrells, anyway! Only shoe that I can buy and immediately wear, without breaking in my feet! I find that I need a larger toe-box, and Merrells fits the bill! They could use a little more padding inside, but the insole is easily removable to insert desired orthotic, etc. Bought a black pair...good with jeans or nice slacks. (Sorry, I can't do heels and don't, seriously, know why one would, without the feet suffering.) Love these!

I am a big fan of Merrell's and these did not disappoint. I am on my feet most of the day and found these shoes very comfortable. Most of my other Merrell's are slides so these are a nice change.

I love these shoes. Very lightweight, comfortable, and they look cute both with jeans and nicer slacks. I can wear them all day with comfort, no pain at all. Easy to get on and off, too. Highly recommend!

Wow. I absolutely love these shoes. They are very comfortable--I stand all day for work. And they look great! I am thrilled with this shoe.

I love these shoes. I usually have to wear orthotics and I don't need them with these shoes because they have great arch support. They have toe room also, which I love. Merrell makes great shoes!

These shoes are being used as "duty" shoes, as I am a nurse. They are my first non-white nursing shoe. I picked them for comfort, as Merrells have proved themselves over and over. So far they are working very well. I usually wear my shoes for up to a year.

I bought these same shoes at a local store a few years ago and they lasted forever but this store changed their product and stopped carrying this shoe. Found them at Zappos and extremely happy I did. I work on a concrete floor and am prone to back problems. These shoes have lots of support and last several years before needing replaced.

These shoes are typical Merrell's. They feel as if they were broken in for you. I will enjoy wearing them.

I love this shoe and have both colors. The shoe works well with orthotics. I wear them for 12 hours plus and they are very comfortable all day.

Great shoes! Supportive but lightweight. Water resistant enough to keep your toes dry in wet weather. A bit chunky looking, but much nicer looking than athletic shoes for traveling and touring.
