Just received these shoes and am very very satisfied with them. I need a 9.5 but with most shoes must order a 10 because I have a wide foot; usually this means sometimes shoes can fit not so well for me. No problem this time; great fit. This is my second pair of Merrells. Came back to this brand after trying a pair of North Face trail shoes that within a year the upper material was pulling away from the sole. Decided to come back to what worked and think it will prove to be a good decision.

These shoes are comfortable and sturdier than I thought they would be. No breaking in period required! These are supposed to be waterproof, due to the Gortex, but I haven't worn them in the rain yet, so I can't address that. They give plenty of support and are a great walking shoe.

The very best hiking/walking shoes. And Gore-Tex makes them waterproof! So comfortable and sturdy!

Best shoe ever! I got these a month ago and I think I've worn them every day since. I love them. They molded to my feet like gloves in just a few days yet provide really nice support. And the waterproofing got put to a serious test this weekend and they passed with flying colors. All weekend in buckets of rain and mud and my feet stayed 100% dry. I'm going to order more in case they ever stop making these.

We found the same shoe at a similar price elsewhere, but they didn't offer the range of colors offered by Zappos. We appreciate having more choices, easy ordering and prompt delivery. Thanks!

I ordered this 1/2 size larger than my usual after reading other reviews and they fit perfectly. Since I just got them I can't comment on long-term wear, but I have high hopes. I'd previously tried a pair of Keen waterproof hikers, but they were too big in the heel and just plain clunky looking. My order arrived on a Monday afternoon after ordering on Saturday and I live in the far NW corner of the country -- Great service Zappos!

Love these shoes! But, listen to other reviews, I have low ankles and the tongue of the shoes rubs them around where it ties. This isn't a huge issue for me, however, I still love the shoes. They are casual and comfortable and so far waterproof, but I haven't tried them in the snow yet.

I love these shoes. I can walk around for hours in comfort never feeling tired.

Love these shoes...the second day I wore them I went on our son's 6th grade class field trip and hiked 3 miles in wet grass and trails, I had dry socks when it was over. Very comfortable and easy to break in.

I had an old pair of the Merrell Siren's for 5 years and was so impressed with the amazing quality of these shoes I decided to give them another go-around, this time with GORE-TEX. Love, love, love them and I knew they would fit like a charm. I wear them everyday at work where I have to stand on my feet all day. They are also awesome for hiking. Don't know where I'd be without my Sirens.

Best money I ever spent on a shoe! I've worn these in snow, mud, rain, freezing temperatures, rocky terrain...my feet are always dry and comfy! Ordered 1/2 size bigger based on other reviews and it was the right way to go.

After reading reviews I ordered a half-size larger and they fit perfectly! It is a stiff shoe but I assume that is due to the Gore-Tex and it does seem to ease up after walking a bit. I haven't had it in wet conditions yet but it is very comfortable on my daily hikes. I'm amazed at how fast Zappos got them here! My sister-in-law told me about Zappos and their easy return policy so this was my first purchase from them and I am very pleased with the speed of delivery (two days after order).

These are just the best! I have always liked Merrell, but these are better than any earlier ones. I wear them as often as I can, you will love them!

I bought a pair of these Merrell Siren Sport with the GORE-TEX two years ago and they were the best pair of shoes I have ever owned. It got me through two weeks of super rainy Scotland with totally dry feet. I am looking to buy another pair.

Great comfortable sneaker for the most part. Light weight, good for walking. My only complaint is the tongue of sneaker rubs against my foot, which is a minor annoyance.

I ordered these shoes for a trip to Europe. They never made it. I usually wear a 7.5 however I ordered an 8 which was perfect. These shoes are stylish, supportive, grippy, light weight and Gor Tex. Unfortunately there is a painful pressure point where the tongue meets the upper corner of the shoe, medially. This was very painful and sadly these shoes are going back.

I love Merrell shoes but this style doesn't work for me. Great fit in the heel and arch but not wide enough in the toe box area.

I got these to replace an older pair I've had for years which have served me well for both hiking and general use. At first these seemed a little stiff around the ankle, but have softened up. I've been wearing them the last couple of days during all-day hospital visits, and they're also comfortable to stand in for long periods of time! and perfect for the long escape walks...I'm looking forward to taking them back into the woods.

Ouch! Right out of the box these shoes hurt my feet. I have a narrow bony foot and the piece of plastic on the inside where the last eyelet hits the ankle was stiff and rubbed against my ankle bone. These hybrid sports shoes are just a little too rugged!

Feels at least 1/2 size smaller. Sewing on "tongue" of shoe is bulky and not very comfortable. The heel is lower than the front, too, which may not be comfortable for some people.

I have to say originally I loved these shoes. The fit was good, they were comfy and they kept my feet dry. But after a year they were useless. I had come to expect more from Merrell considering the amount of money I spent on them but literally eleven months after buying them (and not everyday and I didn't wear them at all in the summer) the leather started to flake away and they were definitely not water tight. I will be looking for a different more rugged shoe.

These would be great but the tongue is so stiff it digs into my ankle! I mushed it around but can't get it into a position where it doesn't hurt...I've had this problem trying on several of Merrell's waterproof shoes. I have the regular Siren Sports and don't have this issue with them...bother. Ordered the Avian Light Sports instead...which runs like a quarter-size larger than the sports (which I think run a half size larger to start with, and shrink when wet!)...and they are comfy right out of the box! Long term report on them to follow. Still...Zappos shipping and handling was great as always! Long live free returns!

I have the non-Goretex Siren Sport in a 9½ and it fits perfectly. The 9½ in this shoe is too short. I am so frustrated that sizing cannot be standardized at within the same brand! Back they go.

This is my 2nd pair and I normally wear a 6 but needed a 6.5 for hiking socks. Like the other reviews, the ankle IS stiff, but they do break in, about 6 wears for me. I just love them because they are low and lightweight. I hike all over Boulder in these and I even go backpacking with them, therefore I love the gore tex option. Last week we were backpacking and I fell in a stream crossing with one foot and unbelievably, even with a low shoe, my foot was completely dry!

This is a great shoe! No break in time. Very comfortable and supportive. Gor-tex keeps your feet dry in all types of weather. I wear a size 5 and felt the shoe was very true to size.
