I've been wearing this boot for about a week now, and have had no rubbing or pain. It's comfortable and well-constructed. I normally wear an 8.5 in regular shoes, but I generally order a 9 in boots. Because of the way these are made, with the leather folding under the buckle, there is a slight gap between your calf and the boot (and I am generally considered as having larger calves); I think you can see it in the video of them. I think it's a beautiful look, but if you want something sleek these might not be the right style.

Perfect soft leather, minimal break-in necessary. The ankle is nicely fitted and the buckles are truly adjustable for a wide range of calf sizes. Love!

Bought them as a gift for the girlfriend and she loved them. Really high quality finish and leather! Got her a size 7 and had to return it and get her a size 6 which fit her perfectly.

These boots are wonderful. I was looking for a pair of stylish boots that were big enough to wear on the outside of my pants. I can put my jeans on and then tighten the buckles. They were comfortable the first day.

I loved the brown so much, I've ordered them in black as well to wear with leggings or tights. The quality is very nice, they certainly don't look cheap. I'm a 10.5 and the 41 fits very well. I also have muscular calves, 15", and they are SNUG with skinny jeans but they do just fit. The only comfort issue I have is the snugness in the ankle with the hem of my jeans pressing against, but with some adjustment it's fine. They are very classy.

Wonderful boot. Looks hot and yet is comfortable. I wear these all day at work. I've gotten many complements on these. Calf is wide - I don't stretch the gusset at all. May be expensive, but worth every penny!

Love these boots!!!! Besides getting a ton of compliments on them, they are comfortable, fashionable and sturdy. Have them for two years now. They still look fantastic and in winter I wear them a lot. I don't wear them when there is snow on the ground and I haven't had to recondition the leather or anything. This year I might though.. I had a local cobbler add more leather at the top because I have wide calves. Worth every penny. Looking to see if this brand makes a high heeled boot

I love these boots! I have a slightly wider calf...but these adjust. My ankles are not fat and these fit snuggly. Often wider calf boots have extra width in the ankle...and I don't like the way they look or fit.

Love these boots!! They are very comfortable and felt"broken in" after the first wearing. The buckles on the sides could be adjusted slightly for those with wider calves.

I have these boots and they are awesome. I wear the size 38. My 16 year old daughter who is 6 ft wanted these boots too and she wears an 11 in shoes, but the 42 (11-11 1/2) is too small for her. She is sad and wishes they came larger. Returning these and trying another brand that comes in a size 12.

I have searched high and low for tall boots that would fit my calves. Most of the wide-calf boots have elastic gores that don't look all that great, not these. I bought these boots and when the arrived and actually fit I was thrilled. I have worn the black ones almost every day since the beginning of fall and just got the brown one's today. The leather is a little stiff at first but they break in very quickly and are really soft.

Great boots! A bit overpriced but stylish, durable and versatile. The calf is surprisingly generous as I have large calves and these have a bit of room to spare.

I have terrible feet: bunions, narrow heels, and am recently battling a bad case of plantar fasciitis. I also have wide calves. Finding a pair of boots that I can wear to accommodate all of these problems is virtually impossible. I bought these boots two weeks ago from Dillards after trying on about 10 pairs of boots. These are amazing! Immediately they accommodated all of my foot problems and were wonderfully comfortable. I am a teacher and walk/stand on my feet all day. I have worn these almost everyday and my feel never hurt. They didn't need any breaking in and although they don't have a lot of arch support or padding in the sole, my orthotic insole fits nicely providing the extra support I need. The quality is excellent and the leather is very soft. They are classic, but still stylish and look great with skirts/dresses and also with my jeans tucked in or over them. They are the most expensive boots I have purchased for myself, but they have been worth the money. Many people have complemented me about them and I feel great wearing them. This is why I am purchasing another pair in black from Zappos. I am so happy with these boots.

I bought both the brown and black pair. I have a wide calf and wear a size 10 shoe. 41 works great for me. Quality, style, comfort and sizing worked for me in boots that I often have to pass by due to fit. I received the ultimate seal of approval from my fashion student daughter and that is my gauge for everything I buy. She's young, cute and hip so if she says they're great, I take it and run right back to get a second pair! Hence, I now own brown and black in the Ecco Hobart.

Cute boot and the leather is super nice quality but my spouse said they made my feet look big so they're going back. The right boot for some reason also crimped into my angle, which was a bit painful.

This boot fits well (long enough, roomy toe box, maybe just a tad narrow but would most likely stretch enough after a few wearings, adjustable for different size calves) and looks good (stylish and really cute with leggings). So what's the problem? The leather is stiff and unforgiving and squeaks! I don't know if this indicates lack of quality or an unusual finishing process but it is unacceptable.

Okay, so these were on my wish list... However popped into Nordies and they were on sale.. (Sorry Zappos!) Grabbed me a pair had them stretched and *poof* took 'em home. The look is awesome. Really classy, much darker in person more of a mahogany color. They have a panel that allows the boot to accommodate larger calf sizes plus a spandex panel at the calf opening. It's nice. Now I'm not gonna... But it's kinda annoying for me to put them on sometimes, especially since I just got them. They're still a little tight. I have to unbuckle all the buckles and the zip up and then re-buckle. Now it's not the worst and they do fit just lovely and I get a lot of compliments (from strangers too) but I can't get them over jeans just yet... I'm working on it though. Wish me luck! Footbed is good and nice an snug around the ankle, not the best for walking longer distances though. 16inch calf and a size 9.5 (in these)

This boot is very comfortable and well made. However, the boot is too long for me. I am 5'2 and it hits just below my knee, making walking tricky as the top of the boot keeps striking the back of my knee. Plus, it makes me look shorter as so much of my leg is "boot". It is too bad because it is a lovely boot. If you are taller than me, I recommend this boot.

I have this boot in black as well. The brown boot is much less comfortable. Stiffer and tighter. Still wearable but will apparently have a longer breaking-in period.

These boots are cute and I was looking for something warm to bear out the rest of this nasty winter we're having. The space at the top was too wide for my calf even when I tightened the buckle. There was a seam that dug into my ankle and they were uncomfortable because of it. My daughter has these boots and loves them. The fact that they are waterproofed and have Gore-Tex in them makes them super warm. She's probably give them 5 stars. I'm returning mine.

I am looking for a boot that is comfortable, fits my (13") calf well, and I can wear with skirts. When I tighten these as much as possible with a buckle, they almost fit my calf well. However, I don't find the inside comfort much different than most other flat boots. (In contrast, the inside of the Born Estrelle was like heaven.) In comparison to the Clarks Mullin Spice (which has a very similar style and sizing), I prefer the Clarks for their narrower toe style, at least for wearing with skirts. I wanted to like these more as I do like Ecco, but they didn't fit my needs.

These fit my wide calves however, the quality was not up to my expectations for ECCO. Usually ECCO is very good but these seemed very cheap looking.

Disappointing. The calf is smaller than advertised, and the adjustment straps are unequal. One of the straps is made of leather that does not match, and the holes are crooked and unevenly spaced. These boots appear to be "seconds" and not first quality. In addition, the boots are not comfortable; the soles are very hard. I was hoping for the Ecco contoured footbed that is comfortable and has good arch support. No such luck. These boots are going back.
