I loved the look for extra wide shoes. The fit is good except the toe box is too small for those of us with really wide feet (including toes).

Brooks Ariel shoes are the best! I run everything from a 5k to a marathon and I would run in nothing else. This is my 4th pair. I will say...the new technology they have been using (DNA) is not as good as the BIO. Also, the shoes do not last as long and the width is different since the technology has changed. They are still great running shoes though, especially if you have orthotics.

I purchased these in the extra wide (EE) width, size 8½. I have very wide feet, bunions and Plantar fasciitis in one heel. It took about a week to break these in. The shoes are still snug to wear but are making my foot conditions more bearable so I will keep these shoes and am considering ordering a second pair.

Great athletic shoes for overall use, gym work out, biking, and every day use. This is the third pair I bought. Good support for arches and overall very comfortable.

This seems to be a well-made and very comfortable shoe. However, I received a defective right shoe where the heel was leaning to the right and my foot was out of balance while wearing it. I might reorder, but I'm a little concerned about their quality control.

I am not a runner but am an avid walker. I also have Plantar Fasciitis and am always looking for a supportive sneaker. The Brooks Ariel seems the perfect solution. It runs a bit small. So I suggest going up half a size.

Wish I would have ordered 1 size wider & 1/2 size larger, otherwise very comfortable.

Seemed like a nice walking shoe with good support, but it ran a little short for the size.

This is the only running shoe I can wear, absolutely no shin splints with this shoe. Comfy, great support.

Brooks was recomended to me by a podiatrist and I have been wearing them for years. But the last couple of pairs I have bought don't seem to be as wide in the WW size as they used to be. They feel wide enough, but my foot spreads beyond the sole on the outside and makes them look too narrow. I still wear them, but I don't like the way they look.

I am a die hard Brooks Ariel fan. I originally had the 2007 model. I loved it so much. It was the best shoe a runner can ask for. So when I needed to get a new pair and could not find that same shoe, I purchased this new Brooks Ariel. I was hoping it would be exactly the same. Although it's about 80% the same, they've made some changes to the fit that I do not like. I ordered 7.5D because I need wide width. My original was a D also. Even though this one is a D, it's tight against the arches, which makes my arches ache after a while. There also isn't as much cushion as the '07 model. For pronators, this will do the trick if you've never worn older Ariels before. If you like your older model, I'd suggest trying to find that online. You'll be a bit disappointed with this one. Although my '07 model was old, I wore it to run a 1/2 marathon a few weeks ago. Never hurt my feet once. I couldn't imagine being able to finish had I worn this new model. The fit with all the "new" stuff makes it feel a little "off".

Fit was good and everything about them. They even handled my orthotics. There was just something (seam, design) that rubbed on my left bunion. Had to return.

This was my 4th pair of these Ariels. I loved the first 3 but these seem tight and not at all as comfortable. I'm glad I decided to test drive them before wearing them outside. And thank goodness for the Zappos free shipping. It's the only way to buy shoes!

I only had these shoes for 2 months when the toe area started ripping apart from the leather. Love these shoes, love the support, will probably order again because they are the best walking shoes I have ever had. But, I'm so disappointed that they are tearing. They are too expensive to wear out on top that quickly.

Sadly...these didn't work for me. Heel cushioning is great but forefront was not. I suffer bunions and arthritis but still run 3-5 miles 6 days a week...these killed my forefoot within 5 minutes of walking around the house! Sad but I will keep trying...maybe with a footpad. Zappos continues to have amazing selections and customer service policies!

I have been wearing them for 8 years. I love these shoes...but the arch support they once had is not felt under my foot anymore. The lace style has changed and the mid foot strap support on the top of the shoe is minimal now. I have not enjoyed them as much since the change a few years back...bring back the old style. I know a few others that feel no arch support under their foot so it's not me. Still a good shoe.

These were a lot heavier/bulkier than I was expecting. The outer part of the shoe also seems out of proportion from the inner. I was surprised by how wide this shoe fit as well. Overall, they just aren't going to work for me and my narrow feet.

Fabulous shoe, great support, yet I have to report that I am reluctantly keeping them. Love the comfort, but the mesh of the shoe is a silver metallic, not white as I had expected, and I think they are gaudy. Wish there was one with blue and white, without looking like it arrived by space ship! I walk 5 miles each morning in my Brooks Ariels, but I won't wear these other than to exercise due to their flashy appearance. Brooks designers, not all venues lend themselves to bright fabrics. White mesh is classic and can go anywhere, with the color on the logo and connecting strips.

I have worn this style of a Brooks for several years and they are my "go to" sneakers. I agree with many of the other reviewers that this year's version of the sneaker has changed. They were not wide enough. Thanks to Zappos, I exchanged them for the EE and found them to be "OK"--not great, but comfortable enough to keep. I wonder if Brooks is cutting back in the turkey of material/and or craftsmanship? If you are reading this, Brooks staff, … go back to the previous years fit!!

The footbed for these sneakers seems unusually flat and like there is not enough room on the inside. Also, there is too much white on the outside for larger feet (12). They are an OK option, but not great.

I have been wearing Brooks for a the past 8 years for my over pronation. In the past I wore the Addiction, but thought I would try the Ariel. For my feet, the front or striking area of the shoe was way too stiff and uncomfortable. Sadly, I have to return.

These shoes were very well made however they were not what I needed and I sent them back. I was looking for cushioning and support for heel pain in a neutral and these shoes are for over pronation. If you do not over pornate, do not get these shoes. The description I saw did not state this fact.

Measurements said I should order a 9 1/2 wide. I ordered these and New Balance W1540. I wanted motion control athletic shoes. I have issues with plantar fascitis and achilles tendonitis. These did not feel comfortable the minute I tried them on. They felt tight and uncomfortable. The back going up my heel was also uncomfortable. Can't say re arch support as when they felt uncomfortable and I had the NB to compare to...I just took them off. The New Balance W1540 was nice and felt great. I also didn't care for the silvery color of these. The NB has a very subdued purplish accent.

New Balance.....I have had several styles. Most recent W1540. They work for me.

Very supportive shoe - almost too supportive. I felt that it was bending my leg outward a bit too stiffly. The sole is stiff, wide and thick and the shoe is not as lightweight as others. I decided to return it and opted for the Adreline GTS 23 instead.
