In just 3 weeks these shoes have done more to reduce my severe foot pain from over-pronation than orthotics, shots or even surgery have done in years. I would recommend starting by wearing them for short times until your muscles get used to the change in gait.

I bought this shoe for my husband based on his size and width while he was on travel for 5 weeks, doing a lot of running. Buying a shoe for someone else, crazy, right? Well, the Beast worked out perfectly for him. He needed a stability shoe that was supportive for flat feet but cushioned enough to take a beating. My husband just finished his course (and a 10k yesterday) with no joint pain. The Beast lives up to its reputation!

These shoes are true to size and width. The area around the ankle is a little bit higher than my last two pairs of Brooks causing the shoes to rub me the wrong way, but I was able to break them in after a couple weeks. They're very comfortable for me - I'm a taller and bigger runner. I'd recommend them to a friend and buy another pair.

This is a fantastic shoe for the moderate over-pronator. With it's built in medial heel wedging it can't be beat. Just remember, like most athletic shoes it runs a size small so go up one size when fitting this shoe. The beast is just that... a beast of a runner. But you don't have to be a runner to enjoy it's ride.

Love these shoes! Ran with them out of the box for 10 miles and had no issues! I am flatfooted and it is normally hard for me to find shoes that work comfortably for me, these are them!

As a solidly built guy (5'9 and 190lbs) and with a previously collapsed arch, I need a running shoe that has great arch support and cushioning. I had Brooks Beast recommended to me as a running shoe about 7 years ago and they've been all I run on since. Yes, they are heavier than other running shoes, but the arch support is what I need. I run about a dozen miles a week regularly and occasionally will train up for a longer race. They aren't a miracle cure, but they are pretty great, and I won't run in anything else. I've got a second pair I just use for walking and I have so much less pain than when I walk in work shoes. If you are a bigger runner or need arch support, I really recommend you check these out.

I had been an Asics addict prior to discovering these! Although, Asics makes fine shoes they did not seem to last that long where as the Beast I can wear every day for months on end before they start to show and real wear! The Beast certainly are pricey but they last easily three times longer than any other sneakers that I have tried!

I saw the reviews and showed my boyfriend, who really likes these shoes. Time will tell how long they will last with him as although they fit his very wide feet quite perfectly, all his shoes tend to wear out within 6-10 months.

I would rate it a perfect 5 out of 5! Excellent shoe for a low arch heavy individual. Really comfortable with a stylish look. Have received really good feedback and have recommended to shoe to many people I know.

I'm in the active duty Air Force and I get a new set of these shoes prior to every Pt test and it really makes a big difference. I have wide flat feet and running hurts my knees and back but these shoes are the answer. In the past 2 years I've purchased this brand, style, and name 3 times. It's always excellent.

My son is a year 'round athlete. He pronates a lot. These shoes stopped foot and knee pain he was having. If only they made them in cleats and basketball high tops!

My husband is so in love with these shoes we ordered another pair. He wears them to the gym, but notice he is wearing the other pair around and about home and town! The fit is fabulous; he wears a double wide and he says they fit better than any other shoe he has worn.

I had never had a pair of Brooks before. I wish I would have listened to a friend of mine years ago who suggested the Beast. I have worn orthotics for several years, and this is the first pair of shoes I have ever had that has taken the place of the orthotics. I have not worn the orthotics in these since I got them a little over 6 weeks ago, and my hips, knees, and feet haven't felt this good in years. I am a teacher and coach, and I am on my feet all day, every day, not to mention I'm 6'3" and about 300 lbs. I agree with the guy in the reviews who said he would buy 50 pair if he thought they were going to quit making them!

I was so impressed with the Brooks Ariel women, I ordered Brooks Breast men for my brother. His words..."It's the best of the best!" My words..."The Cadillac of shoes." If you're looking for the very best arch support -- look for further. He has received so many compliments on the black with gold trim. Why can't women have the same great colors, too? We are looking for the next shoe sale. Thanks!

Bought this brand for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Very comfortable and fit perfect. I have been wearing them for a month now and I have not had any issues. My only complaint would be that they are pricey compared to other running shoes.

This is the best shoe on the market for pronation and motion control. I have tried all the others, but I always come back to the Brooks Beast. Good fit, and comfort to boot. But still, take out insoles, and put Sorbanthane ulta support insoles instead, but even more arch support.

I am a 6'-5", 230 lbs. guy who needs to run not only for my health but also because of my job. I had always dealt with either sore knees or shin splints whenever I ran no matter what shoes I wore and I went through a lot of Nikes, Asics, New Balance, etc. Finally I did some research (partly because I'm older and tired of hurting) and found the Brooks Beast. I bought my first pair from Zappos almost a year ago and they were great! No more shin splints or sore knees or anything. I just purchased my second pair a few minutes ago and I'm not the type that usually leaves reviews, but for this shoes I had to. If you are a taller or heavier runner, give these a try. They are a little heavier if you are one of those minimalist runners but for me, I could care less. I don't run so I can catch antelope, I just run my pace to make a time limit. Give them a try and see what you think...I wasn't disappointed.

I cannot say enough good things about the brand Brooks. These shoes are excellent for support especially when you are a person with hard to fit feet or foot ailments. This pair is the third pair I have bought for my 12 year old son that now wears and 11 men's 4E. The BEAST shoes are hardy and seem to last at least half a school year, or more, on a growing child who wears them EVERY SINGLE DAY. My son's only " fashion complaint" is that he wishes they came in a larger variety of color assortments because Brooks' BEAST are the only shoes that fit his foot properly so he would like a greater selection of colors to choose from when buying one pair to the next pair. As a mom, and a Brooks wearer myself, I can state you will be pleased with this brand. They are expensive but well worth their price.

Comfortable sneaker with great support. Size was true but it did feel a little bit narrower than marked and still a good fit. This sneaker was meant to be a workhorse and will see lots of use.

My boyfriend really likes these shoes, however, he normally wears an 11.5 in these shoes but when he ordered them they were too small so he ordered a 12 and they fit just fine. He has owned these shoes before and likes them.

I love these shoes! For months while trying to lose weight, I dealt with horrible ankle pain. I severely overpronate. Almost the minute I tried these shoes on I knew they would help. After a week of wearing these shoes I had no more pain.

I am way too big to be a runner; 6' tall and about 236. More of a bodybuilder but the Army makes me run anyway, this shoe makes for a great platform; it's comfortable in the gym and on the trail, great support and motion control, looks great at the same time. So, if you're a bigger guy, or just want a little more support, I'd give the Beast a try.

Simply the best pair of shoes I have ever owned. I have put endless miles on my pair and they feel just as comfortable as the first time I put them on. I have always had problems with my feet. It seemed as though I had to buy a different pair of shoes every other month. The BEAST has finally ended that problem. Again, they are incredibly comfortable and durable!
