Everything as advertised. Expensive and worth it! I've used new balance in the past and got tired of these shoes falling apart because of shabby construction. This sneaker appears to be very well made.

Okay, I have freaky feet. I wear a 12, 4E shoe. This is not a size most shoes are made in. The Beast is perfect for me as it is wide enough, and comfortable enough for me to walk around all day. I highly recommend these shoes, as they are also super comfortable. Thanks Zappos! I love these shoes so much, they are the only ones I have owned for the last few years. When one starts to fall apart, I order a new pair.
I'd also recommend:
none, only these... *Grin*

I had never ordered from Zappos, but I had difficulty finding the Brooks Beast shoe. Not only did Zappos have the shoe, but my size as well. I placed the order and the shoes came as promised. I will definitely buy more from Zappos.

I have been purchasing this shoe for about three years at a local store, so I knew it worked for me. I saved substantially by purchasing it from Zappos. I wish they made some other colors.

This is my fourth pair of beasts, but the first time I tried wide. The Beast is the best shoe in the world for my shin splints--they keep my feet in exactly the right position to avoid injury. The size Wide is so roomy. I just love them.\r\n\r\nAs always, the service from Zappos was amazing.

We've come back for this shoe three times in the past two years. My husband has severe over pronation, nearly walking on his ankle. This is the very best shoe we have found to date. He is comfortable right out of the box! He uses his custom orthotics in them and they fit just fine. We reviewed many brands and styles before we bought this shoe, and will probably be ordering it again in 8 months or so.

These shoes were recommended to me by a physical therapist to deal with knee pain caused by my pronated feet. I have worn out multiple pairs over the past four years, using Lynco inserts to aide the correction of the pronation, and have no knee pain at all, running about 50 miles per week. Highly recommend these shoes!

These shoes are the best running shoes I have tried so far. Better than my Nike Shox. I got them because I am new to running and was getting shin splints really bad on the inside of my shins. I found out I was an extreme over pronater. These cleared that right up.

Excellent shoe - I'm a big guy and wear these all day, every day. I have gone through several pairs, but each one was worth it. I have custom orthotics, but cannot fit them in over the liner that comes with the shoe. I remove the liner and put the orthotics in. However, recently I have gone back to wearing the shoe with just the original liner because of the comfort and softness. If my feet bother me, I throw the orthotics in for a few days and then go back to the brooks liner because it is so comfortable.

Great shoe, a little heavy - I bought these shoes to help my ankle roll, they seem to be successful so far. Fair warning, these shoes are significantly heavier than most running shoes, but you do get used to it.

Jeff H - These shoes were recommended by my foot doctor. I love them and they work well with the orthodics, I have. Very stable and comfortable.

If you are flat-footed like me, you NEED these. It makes a world of difference. Running long distances has always been extremely challenging for me because of my flat-footedness (if that's a word). After only a few minutes of running, my ankles would hurt so bad that I would literally have to stop and sit down for several minutes. These shoes eliminate that problem entirely. I experience absolutely zero pain when I run now. I know they are kind of expensive, but they are worth their weight in gold if you have problems similar to mine. Like one guy already said, if they were going to discontinue these, I would buy every pair they had left in my size.

I haven't worn this particular year's Beast yet, but I've been wearing them since 1996 (100th Boston Marathon, so easy to remember the year). I'm 6'2" and hover around 190-200 pounds (ideal fighting weight is 185, but those damn cheeseburgers!). I always buy two pairs - one for running; the other for daily wear. I have pretty severe pronation; I replace the inner liner with my orthotics. (Podiatrist says he never tells anyone not to run, but if he did, he'd tell me - nearly the worst pronation he's seen.) The Beast has pretty good support even without orthotics. I don't particularly like the styling, but I put up with it 'cause the shoes are so good.

I have a very bad lower back (disc burst at L5 bulging at l4) and advised to avoid running totally Well, so I mainly use an elliptical to stay in shape butt still run an occasional race for dignity etc.. I had also opted last minute to run the 10k (normally I never have run over a 5k since 2001) but oddly, a scheduling conflict made the later event, the 10k, happen to be at the right time. I had been training a lot on elliptical and had done my usual 2 weeks of 3 times a week running outside to get running muscles up to snuff a bit (as elliptical do not train same muscles exactly at all). But then, given the shear panic of me overestimating my ability and possibly hurting my back or not running at all (I had paid the 30 dollar entry fee good for the 5 or 10k and then there is the issue of dignity to think of as well). SO thank god I have a VIP Zappos account (courtesy of Zappos on an earlier order mix up! Zappos is the best)-- I ordered the venerated "BEASTS" (300 some 5 star reviews is more than any bot program can pull off IMHO) on Thursday-VIP shipping got them--yep-Friday. Tried them on, fit great but already ran in Kayanos that day, and have to take rest day day before such a long race (for me anyway). Which means, I took the big chance of breaking these in on a 10k course and maybe having them burnt my feet, but at least protect my back for the longer distance than planned! The Brooks Beast made this beast pull up the rear of the slower runners and they came through with flying colors (not me! The sneakers!). I was able run the course (mildly hilly and difficult but thankfully a cool day!) at my usual Clydesdale pace of 11 (ish) minute miles (I am over 50, over 6 ft. tall and over 230 but not fat-I hear runners laughing but sincerely no flab anyway) Well, I finished (my only goal was to finish-if I made it under 70 mins. that would be a plus-and I did manage that too) main issue is-without any pain whatsoever during the race (and more importantly the next day!). These have now replaced the NB 990-993 line as my official back saving shoe. They could lose the Herman Munsterish looking heel however-the Ariel's look nice-why the need to have the Beasts look so well, "Beastly"-and black was all I could get of course.. Will be buying these as long as I can run.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance 993, 1012s, Brooks Adrenaline (2E), Nike Air Max 2012 (too narrow however)

My family wears Brooks shoes! Brooks Beast (for men) and Ariel (for women) are the most comfortable tennis shoe you will ever wear! Zappos has the friendliest staff that I have ever encountered by far!

These are just about the best shoes I've ever worn. I am a severe over pronator and also overweight (but working on it). Never had better support and correction that with these. I'm ordering another pair.

The folks who work for Zappos are the best customer service folks I've talked to in a long time. Kudos to Zappos for the awesome customer service. I have owned Brook Beast's in the past and they've always worked great since I have almost no arch. For some reason these feel like they need a bit more of a break in period than my old ones, which were super comfortable out of the box. These feel a little stiff. Anyway, I'm still happy with them and I assume they'll break in after a few more runs.
