After trying several pairs of boots, I finally settled on these. They are super comfortable. The boot is too large in the calf. However, I've accepted that with a 13.5 inch calf and a size 11 foot, I will never find a boot that is slim enough in the calf for me. I was at least able to move the buckle over, though it does create a slight bulge in the side of the boot. I like the style and really needed some black boots, so despite some flaws, they are keepers.

Pros: I really like these boots. I had to wear them immediately for a lot of walking and they did great, no sores, right out of the box! They look good and will keep your feet dry better than most. Cons: I wish it had better traction, sole has wimpy traction. A little higher heel would look a bit more dressy too but that isn't critical.

Love these boots! My crippled feet (bunions, hammer toes) appreciate the wide toe box and removable insoles. The leather is soft and the boots are nice and plain looking. I do wish the shaft was narrower as the adjustable buckles can only help a little bit without scrunching the leather strangely, but overall I am pleased with the purchase.

These are comfortable and nice. I don't know if they are what I'm looking for: good with jeans or funky skirts but probably not nice enough for a professional setting. The Keen Cush footbed is soft, but doesn't come out if you want to use orthotics. I sized up half a size and could fit orthotics. The calf is wide for me and using the belts to adjust it didn't work, as the goring doesn't go all the way down and they bunched up. Bottom line: good casual boots, maybe not great with skirts.

I love the color and cut of this boot, but the fit is odd. It is too big in the heel and too tight across the toes. Too bad, as I really wanted them to work. The color is a green grey that I would wear alot. I am not crazy about how sqaure the toe box is either.

I absolutely love these boots. I have big (size 11) problematic feet (low arches, plantar fasciitis, etc.) and so usually have a very hard time finding shoes that fit and that are comfortable. These not only fit the bill but are cute to boot. (No pun intended!) There is plenty of room for my Birkenstock orthotic. My only disappointment is that the leather finish scuffs quite easily. Luckily I was able to find the exact color of green shoe polish at my neighborhood shoe repair shop. I am thinking of getting them in another color.

I wanted to love these. They are beautiful out of the box, and smelled fantastic. I've had good success with Keens in the past. This Bern Baby Bern boot is very uncomfortable in the ankle and calf. They cut into my ankles when walking, and going up and down stairs was almost impossible. The footbed was perfect and very comfortable. No weird rubbing, not too tight, not too loose. The ankle seams hurt, very strange because they are too loose. and the calf was just too tight. Might fit someone, just not me

I love these. I broke my heel in March (7 months ago). I still can't wear heals or my older boots. I usually wear clogs every day. Now it's fall and i wanted boots. These are so comfortable and the green is cool and different!

Love the style and comfort of this boot, but it doesn't look good if your calves don't fill up the space. I am 5'-6" and 135lbs with 14" calves. There was too much of a gap between my calf and the boot...just didn't look good with leggings, so they are going back. I'm bummed.

Love these boots. Have had trouble finding boots that fit my average size calves. These are snug, but they do stretch with use. I am on my feet all day at work, and my feet and legs never feel tired wearing these boots.

I love these boots! They are comfortable and cute, and not too loose on my calfs like some other winter boots. I love that they are waterproof. The insole is cushy and the style accommodates my high instep. I just wish the insoles were removable, so I could replace them if I need more arch support. But overall a great option that I can wear in the rainy season with skirt or skinny jeans. they also fit under boot cut jeans.

This boot is really really comfortable. And I intend to wear them quite hard while working. I am satisfied with how they fit and feel. You MUST order a half size larger. That advice was entirely accurate. My review is short one star because I am worried about how they will hold up. Loosing shine and luster after only two weeks of wear. And they don't quite have the cool Keen toe that most of their boots have. But I do recommend them . Keen makes a good product.

Disappointed and these boots are way too wide for my thin-to-average size calves. I bought them as potential "every day" spring boots for an upcoming trip abroad. But the shaft of the boot was enormous on me: the tops gaped out, and my legs were just swimming in them like buckets. That was surprising because so many reviews said they were narrow. Unfortunately the side-buckles are just for show, you can't use them to adjust the width (if you tighten them it folds the leather of the boot shaft and makes things worse). For reference, I wear 7 or 7.5 shoes, am 5'3", 110 pounds. My legs aren't actually all that skinny, but calf- and knee-high boots tend to gape on me. Maybe because my legs are short, so the boots come up higher than they should. The boots felt comfortable in the foot. They seem fairly well made, not perfect, but about in line with the price. The leather is thicker and stiffer than it seemed from the photos. The style is okay and slightly trendy. The side straps aren't as cute in real life, as other reviews mentioned. But I like the modern looking sole and the shape of the foot. For reference, these are about an inch wider and exactly as tall as my La Canadienne Passions. The leather on these is much thicker and stiffer than the LCs. These gape at the top more than the LCs, instead of conforming to the shape of my leg, which may be partly due to the stiffness of the leather. They are more casual than the LCs, less classic, but more on-trend. I'll be returning them because of the gaping width.

I really wanted to love these boots and my friend raves about them and wore them in Europe as her only pair of shoes for 2 weeks. Sadly I just couldn't get past the bulkiness around the ankle - it feels like there's no support there whatsoever. She loves them though!

Super cute boot! I ordered the dark green color and am in love with it. The only thing is that the boot tapers to a pretty wide opening at the top. If you have large calves, these boots will definitely be appropriate. I, unfortunately, have legs like Big Bird, but wear a size 10.5. They fit perfect in the foot (a tiny bit of wiggle room, probably enough space for bigger socks in the winter), but they are huge at the top! They look kind of like rain boots! I just dropped them off at the cobbler to get them taken in for $40. Still a good deal considering how much I got them for on sale. Cute boots, but stick legs beware!

I really wanted to love these boots. The forest night color is gorgeous & I'm a fan of Keens, but the circumference was a problem for me. Yes, they are fully adjustable with the strap - when I had them cinched down to the smallest setting they fit nicely around my calf (which is 13",) but did a weird bunching thing. There's nowhere for the extra material to go, so it just bunches up under the strap and looks pretty bad. My feet are narrow but long, and in my size these shoes were just too wide. The final test was trying them on with a skirt, and they didn't look that great - the shape is kind of like galoshes or rainboots in my larger size. They were OK, but I wasn't in love with them, so back they went. I do think people with wider feet and/or calves would love these, and the shape is likely cuter in smaller sizes. Zappos was awesome as usual, I ordered these around 2 pm and they came the next day. Returning them was simple and convenient.

I ordered these in 9.5 B (medium width) since they don't come in wides. I normally wear 8.5 WW and hoped that sizing up to 9.5 would give me enough room, but it did not. I also really disliked the shape of the toe box once I saw it on my feet. They seemed well-made, though.

These aren't my favorite boots yet, but they are growing on me. The real surprise is the color, if you order "forest night". Can't tell from the picture but they are actually a very deep, gray/green but look faded black in low light levels. Was very surprised to see the color in daylight. But I like it because it's unusual. The leather is a little stiff but it is softening up nicely. Not crazy about the color of the lining which is quite light and shows a little at the top of the boot. The description says it is leather, but it looks and feels synthetic to me. The foot bed is comfy and moderately padded. I ordered my usual size and they are okay with a mid weight sock, but wouldn't take a heavy one comfortably. I like the casual style and am looking forward to finishing out the winter wearing them frequently.

This boot was what I was hoping for but the normal Keen 9.5 was too narrow and small. So I am sending back for a 10 to see if it works. Calf is slightly large for under jeans and a little large for my normal sized calf.

Love the boot. They are my casual/skinny jean boot. I ordered the 7.5 and they fit well length wise. A tiny bit tight width wise. The good news though, they are leather and quickly conform to my foot. I can walk around in them in hours with no discomfort.

First off, the footbed is absolutely fantastic. They feel like you could walk a long way in them. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to test that out, because the leather is really stiff (I can't tell if it seems like really expensive or really cheap leather) so it cuts into one of my ankles and ultimately they're too uncomfortable for long distances. It's a shame. I've been looking for boots I can wear to and from work, which is a 5-mile speed-walking round trip. These aren't those boots. But again, they're the best footbed I've found in a boot so far. Still, they're not exactly attractive either.

I love these boots! Comfortable from the very beginning, good for walking, stylish with both skirts and pants, reasonably warm and waterproof. Great all-around!

I love these boots! I was worried that Keens tend to run small, but I ordered my normal size (9) and they fit just fine. I have 14 inch calves, and medium width feet, with long toes. These boots are the most comfortable I have ever worn. I got the forest night color, not really sure what they would look like in person, and they are actually green, but in a very, very good way. The color goes with everything! I get tons of compliments and people stop and ask me where I got them. The only issues I have had with these boots are tiny ones... The right boot felt kind of snug width wise, but after wearing them one or two times, It didn't feel tight at all. The heels felt very loose when I first tried them on, and I thought maybe my foot would slip up and down in them and require a heel grip inside. It turned out fine and I didn't need one. The ankles are pretty loose, and the zipper gets kind of wavy and bendy looking, and the first couple of days it kind of hurt my ankle/inner leg where the zipper pressed in on it. (Now it is fine.) Also, this is a very tiny thing, and I get around it, but wanted to mention.. I have a habit of sitting with my legs crossed all the time, and where the buckles are located, it can hurt your bottom knee unless you re-adjust yourself. Oh, and I had no problems with the boots feeling slippery or like there wasn't enough traction, as another reviewer mentioned, and I live in the Pacific NW in constant rain and slippery, soggy leaves!

I was a little skeptical after reading the reviews but I have known Keen to be a reliable and good shoe, so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. My feet are very wide so to accommodate, I ordered a half size up. At first, they were a little tight and I couldn't zip the boot all the way up past my calves. I took the advice of one of the reviewers and just gave it time. I spend a day breaking them in just by walking around the house in them. Sure enough, it was all I needed to do. They fit perfectly now. They are the most comfortable boot that I think I've ever owned. I work with children full time so it's important to have good shoes that I can move in (and quickly if need be!). These boots are just great! I wished I had ordered them in the oak color though.
