I bought these boots just in the nick of time for the Blizzard of 2013. When they first arrived my husband laughed at them saying they were more boot than I could ever possibly need. One week later he wanted to borrow them to plow through our 3 feet of snow. They are incredibly comfortable, and for a serious snow boot, really quite cute. They do run a bit big to accommodate thick socks, so keep that in mind when choosing a size. I'm so happy I bought these!

These boots are fantastic! I am already a huge fan of Sorel boots. Got my first pair when I lived in Canada. Anyhow, I live in Texas now. Needless to say, my husband was perplexed that I would need such a heavy duty boot here. Well, I do. I certainly keeps my feet very warm, and they are so comfortable that I when I first got them I wore them around the house (because it was cold and I was trying to break them in). The only downside was that the color was not as light as it looks online. So if you are trying to match it with a winter coat or something then factor in a darker grey. After I got myself a pair, my daughter wanted a pair of Sorels for herself. So she got the children's Tofino and loves them.

These are awesome boots, very comfortable. I normally wear an 8 1/2 and I had to go with an 8. I don't wear heavy socks with them and my feet stay warm.

When looking for a cold-weather boot, look no farther than Sorels. I have another pair that is 20 years old; they went to college with me in Vt., and after replacing the felt liner about 8 years ago, they work as good as ever. So I had no excuse to buy these boots, except they are more feminine, have a longer shaft, and make my feet look a little smaller. These boots are comfy even in single-digits; we've had a cold snap and boy am I glad I have them! If you're hesitating, just do it. You'll have them for 20 years, I'm sure!

I would give this boot a different name, but nothing really rhymes with spectacular. I went through tons of boots to find one that looked even moderately cute while being warm enough for Utah in the winter. Cate the Great was what I settled on -- the grey pair is very smart and looks cute with skinny jeans. More importantly, they are warmer than warm, have a comfortable lining, and allowed me to wear any type of sock comfortably, ranging from thin to thick. They aren't as stiff as other boots and are easy to walk in, and easy to get in and out of. Overall, this boot is well worth the money. I don't think I will ever have to buy another pair of snow boots for as long as I live.

I LOVE these boots! My previous winter boots were a pair of Bogs that I loved and wore faithfully for about five years (until sadly, they died with a little help from my dog)- They were very warm, long wearing and comfortable on long walks, etc... The only issue- not very stylish! I researched many styles to replace my beloved Bogs, and kept coming back to Cate the Great which I finally purchased! I have been wearing them for a few days now, and I love them! They are warmer than I expected- with temperatures dipping below zero this week, my feet have been cozy on dog walks and around town. The laces can be a bit tedious if you are in a rush, since the lace holes are large and there are no cinch points, but its not a deal breaker. Also, be aware that these are VERY FLAT which is great if you're into the whole barefoot movement. I wear minimalist shoes for work-outs and these boots create a similar effect. My foot feels connected to the ground, the toe box is large enough for my foot to flex and move around and for my toes to spread out. When looking at the boots it appears that there is a small heel, however wearing the boots, there is virtually zero drop and no arch support; I love this feature, but it may not work for some who are seeking a more traditional boot fit. As for sizing, I am usually a 6.5 - 7. I bought these boots in a 7 b/c the 6 was sold out everywhere but I could have easily gotten away with the six. One more great feature- you can buy new inserts from Zappos! So if your originals get worn out or too stinky, you can order a new pair for less than $40... yay! If you decide to purchase, I hope you enjoy them as much as I am!

Look way better in person! Go to the Sorel website or google them to get better product pictures. I did a ton of research prior to purchasing these and I'm so glad I did because they live up to the hype. They are extremely high quality and wicked awesome boots - that's what I was recently told by a random stranger admiring my boots! They are also extremely comfortable. I purchased my normal size and they are nice and roomy and allow for thick hiking socks. I haven't had any problems with traction. I've also played in the snow, sledding and the works and they stayed warm, comfy & dry the entire time. I also love that you can just slip them on quick and don't have to bother lacing them up or tying them if you don't want to. Buy them, you won't regret it! (That is if you have wicked awesome fashion sense).

I absolutely love these! I bought them for a trip to the Colorado Rocky Mountains and they were warm and fit perfectly with some wool socks. The calf was a perfect size for me to tuck my pants in without being too tight. I love how high they go too. Tromping in a foot of snow with these was no problem! Highly recommend!

Awesome boot but I took the reviews advice and ordered down from 6.5 to 6 since they said it ran big. Unfortunately it was also narrow and I ended up returning them for size sevens and they are perfect!

I'd been looking at these boots for about a year when I finally found them on sale (for a reasonable price) on this site, and I couldn't be happier. I live in upstate N.Y., near Buffalo, so our winters are usually pretty harsh and can last for awhile. I got these boots about a week ago and have worn them out in the snow numerous times and they keep my feet very warm. Not to mention that they're stylish, waterproof, and not too bulky so you don't have to worry about clunking around in heavy snow. Normally I wear a size 9.5-10 because of the front of my foot is wide, so for these I had to order a size down (from my normal 10 to a 9), since they are made to be a bit bigger. When I tried them on out of the box the area around my toes felt a little tight and I was worried that I'd have to return them, but after wearing these for about three or four days they began to get more flexible. It's been a week and now I have no more problems with the width constricting my toes, even while wearing heavy wool socks. Basically, these babies will keep you warm all winter long without any sacrifice to your style!

I had been looking for snow boots that didn't look, well, like I was back in '95 when I was 8 years old. I fell upon these and knew I loved them. I read from the reviews that they were good in the snow, lasted a long time and were comfortable. The only thing I worried about was the fit. The reviews stated that the boots ran large and to order a size down. I wear from a size 8-9, and decided to order up instead of down, and I'm glad I did (not going to tell everyone to do it, but for me it worked). With wool socks, the boots fit me so well. The only thing that isn't snug is my ankle, but I don't envision running in them in the snow anytime in the future. Oh, and they're super cute! My sister came home, I stuck out my foot, and she goes, "Oooooh!" Win.

LOVE these boots but look even cuter once I cut the fur out! I am a size 9 but definitely could have used an 8 1/2. Wicked looking boot! DO NOT order a size up if you're a half size...definitely, size down!

I just got these yesterday and they haven't left my feet since. I live in the mountains, and these are the boots I should have ordered years ago. I looked around for weeks before finally deciding to go ahead and spend the money on these...so glad I did. I am wearing them at work right now, and already had a few compliments this morning. They look cute with dresses and jeans, but I also took my dog out for a walk last night in below freezing temps and my feet were still toasty when I got home, even without super thick socks. They are a bit clunky, but that makes them functional which I needed. I wear around a size 6 and ordered a 6 bc of previous reviews. They actually feel like i have some room but I think any smaller and I wouldve had quite a struggle getting them off and on. I wouldnt wear them to go out dancing or anything, but these boots will for sure be my staple footwear this winter and for many to come I'm sure!

These boots are awesome. I usually wear an 8.5, but the size 9 was too big (made my foot look big as well) and the size 8 fits perfect. They are very comfortable and don't really feel as heavy as they look. I highly recommend these boots!

I bought these boots for my wife... Her previous pair were winter boots, but she often complained of her feet being cold. I knew the reputation that Sorel had for warmth and durability so I was already seeking out a pair. when I gave them to her, she immediately fell in love with the boots for both style and warmth. Match these with a nice pair of winter pants and a coat; she is now willing to stay outside... for about an hour;)

I read about a hundred reviews on these before I bought them. I normally wear a true 8 1/2. I ordered an 8 base on majority of people saying to size down if you are a 1/2 size. I should have known to size a size and a half down. I got the size 8 and no only did yet look monstrous but they felt uncomfortably big, exchanged them for a 7 and they are perfect! There are many people who said these boots are narrow. I have incredibly wide feet and there is plenty of space! Not narrow at all! They are not a tailored looking boot, they are not supposed to be. I wore them all day today and they were perfectly comfortable and most definitely warm! Of course it was only about 65 degrees today but it was raining all day and my feet were dry. Love these! And I got the gray color and it's a great color!

The big issue with these boots is sizing: if you wear a half-size, is it better to order up or down? I read a lot of reviews before making a decision, and it seems like people are split pretty much half and half on this matter. I elected, as a wearer of 7 1/2's, to order 8's. They were huge. I exchanged them for 7's and they fit just perfectly - even some room to spare.

These boots are wonderful! They go on quickly & easily even though they are lace-ups and they are super warm! I wore these for snow tubing & other winter fun with our kids & they kept my feet (and legs!) warm the whole time even though it was quite cold most of the time and slushy wet the rest of the time. They are not as streamlined as I would like in the foot style-wise, but I do think that is part of what makes them warmer, so I can't really complain, especially since the faux fur top adds a fun factor.

Love these boots. So comfortable, warm and durable. I get lots of compliments when I wear them.

Very cute boots. Run at least one size on the small side, as well as very narrow. Not typical for Sorel!

I'm extremely happy with the style and quality of this boot. It's cute, very warm, and my feet have stayed dry through snow and slush. My only complaint is that this style definitely runs large. If you wear a half size, order down. I usually wear a 7.5, sometimes an 8, so I ordered the size 8 boots. They were definitely too big, but unfortunately I didn't have time to exchange them for 7s before leaving for a winter vacation. I got insoles for them and those, along with thick socks, make the fit much more snug. Before I got the insoles I did experience some rubbing on my Achilles tendon, but the insoles have corrected that so I don't think it would be a problem if you get the right size.

I got these boots for my girlfriend and she absolutely loves them. They are super warm and cozy. Always great "amazon shipping" helps too. My girlfriend says the size is a little bigger than actual number on boot but accommodates winter socks.

I have had these boots for a month now, and I love them. I've worn them walking for hours in the snowy mountains, and they've kept me extremely warm and comfortable. I've also worn them to work with dresses. These boots are definitely fashionably-funky but double as amazingly insulated winter gear. I hope they last for many years!

I am a solid 9 in almost every brand of shoes. However, these really do run about a half size big (if you like very snug boots, I'd say maybe even a full size big). I read another user's comment about the boots bending and hitting her Achilles tendon - which it does seem to do - but not to a point where it's painful/nothing a little breaking in can't help. As far as warmth and comfort, it feels like these shoes are giving my feet a wonderful hug. And you can't tell very well from the picture, but the boot is very rounded, so your toes have wiggle room.
