I was so excited when I ordered these shoes! They look good, are waterproof and nice and tall. But when I tried them on, I realized that although they are supposed to be medium width, they are actually very tight fitting if you have anything other than an extremely thin feet. The shoes are extremely tight on the top of my feet, and therefore there is no way that I would ever be able to wear socks with these shoes!

After looking for months for a pair of boots to wear in snow western NY state, I finally decided to get these because they are semi stylish and had great reviews. I was not disappointed when I got them. They're comfy, if a little bit on the wide side, but after putting on a thick sock, they fit great. I like that there's no zipper on the side, only laces. I'm usually a size 9, and that's the size I ordered. If I went down a half size, they might fit better in width, but the length would definitely be too short. The style is good, different from the Ugg-ly boots that are everywhere. These are keepers. Not sure how they do on ice, but they're waterproof, which is perfect. They fit my calves fine and I can fit my jeans in the calf area without a problem.

Warm! The boot would have been perfect for me if it was a hair longer in the size 9, my normal size. The 10 would have been too large even with thick socks. The heel slips normally like a boot would, however, in the 10 it would have been annoying. And more importantly, I wish the styling of the front wasn't so wide. They looked too big for my taste, like duck feet. I know it is supposed to be somewhat of a duck boot; however, they are not as cute with skirts and dresses as I would like. The pictures as well as the video are deceiving. It probably looks different in the smaller sizes. Great boot if the front were a bit more feminine, meaning smaller. I am buying a Pajar style instead with a narrower looking front.

Because so many people said these run big, I initially ordered a 6 even though I wear a 7. This was the wrong thing to do. These are winter boots, and they're made roomy to be worn with thick socks. They're appropriately sized for that purpose, so I had to exchange the 6s for 7s. Also, these boots seem a bit inconsistent. They're super cute, so I'm willing to deal, but one boot of the first pair (6s) that I bought had a lump in the liner, which would have definitely caused discomfort over time. The second pair (7s) didn't have this, but the left boot shaft is slightly taller than the right - and it's just enough to notice. I'm going to take them to a cobbler to have the top trimmed down a bit, especially because the faux fur liner peeks out less in the taller boot and it looks different to the right. Overall, they're incredibly warm and cozy. They don't lace up tightly, so consider that you probably can't hike for miles in them. I think of them more as cute boots to wear in cold rain/snow conditions, to ski, to work, or shoveling snow.

Just don't work! I wanted to like these boots. I tried them in an 8 and a 7 (I usually wear 7.5 - 8). The 7 fit too tight against the top of my foot, and the 8 was just huge. I think they'll have to go back.

The width increases a lot between the 11 and 12. Don't buy the 12 unless you have average to wider feet. The length is right on, but a bit wide.

Love this boot! I measure a 7.5, right foot bigger than left. I went with the size 8, bigger, seeing I want to wear socks with this. I could put in a $5.00 insole in if needed for snugger fit. I wore the 7's for a while sitting around and felt a bind across the R forefoot. Don't want the boots too small. Also the black size 8 fit smaller than the Elephant size 8. Try a couple pair.

I love the design of the boot. I have a bad leg and this is a heavy boot. Think about it - all the upper is leather. I found out that the rubber part at the toes even with the felt insert my toes got cold. I do live in Michigan though with rough winters. I expected more warmth for the price.

Good fit and very warm. Took a long walk after an ice storm with no slipping, great traction. Managed the weather in Vail nicely and with style. On the way home, the top eyelet came free of its stitching. Will return for a replacement. Hopefully, the durability of the lacing method will be better. I would give the boot 5 stars if it weren't for the eyelet.

Good quality materials in upper and I like the style but for me the sole is not comfy. Not supportive. Very high-volume shoe. I found it hard to lace the shoe and ankle area enough. You could wear thick socks easily but not sure that's necessary with a boot this well insulated. Considered adding an insole for comfort but, for the price, I want a boot with a better foot bed.

I finally got these boots I've been wanting for some time and they are sturdy, warm, etc. However, I am returning them because they are so heavy! I feel like they are weighing my petite 5ft 1in frame down, down, down! It's like I'm carrying extra weight!

I wear a size 9 shoe, bought a 10 but it was huge so I returned it for a 9, it rubbed my big toe. This is a big heavy boot and probably overkill for a normal winter in a moderate climate but we do get some heavy snow at times so it seemed like a good idea at the time. I also participate in outdoor sports that have me standing in snow so need something warm. I disliked the lace up as it was very cumbersome. The tongue is loose so I can't figure out how it would keep the snow out. Other boots I have like this eventually let the snow into the boot. Like some others I feel the fur trim is a bit overboard.

What I liked: these are adorable on and quite light for how substantial they are, not to mention warm. What I disliked: they are extremely wide. If I'd cinched them up, the laces would have practically touched all the way up, even with jeans tucked in, and my foot slopped around in the footbed. Plus these ran a half size too short. They had to be returned.

I usually wear a size 10 in women's shoes and I have thin (note: athletic) calves. These boots fit me terrible. The 9 was too small - toes hitting the front. The 10 was too big. Regardless of which size I had on I had the laces cinched up as tight as they could go and the boot was still loose and just didn't feel right. The heel was slipping too. I felt like I was stomping around with some oversized heavy object on my leg. I love the style, the fit just did not work for me and my thin calves. Found the Sorel Tivoli Camp 18 fit me a million times better!

Boots are too bulky looking. They look like they should be worn in Alaska.

I wanted to love these boots. What beautiful, sophisticated winter footwear. Alas, it was not to be. The back of the boots (just above the ankle) buckled in each time I stepped forward onto my heel. The fold in the leather there was so severe that I ended up with bruised legs. I also found that the lining bunched up a bit in the upper front area, which was a more minor issue but still uncomfortable. The footbed is wide, but that didn't really bother me fit-wise. Because of the boots' stiffness, you cannot tighten them in the ankle area, so there's loads of extra space there (in front of the ankle) no matter what you do. I also realized once I got them on that there's no way I'd be able to drive in them because they're so clunky and stiff. Bummer!

Loved these, but they hit funny on my heel. They never stopped and it hurt, had to send back. Very sad because these are adorable.

While these are very cute, they are too bulky and make my foot and leg look big. Only good for really snowy days. They are not good for running around doing errands in the slush or post snow storm.

Beware! They have no traction on smooth, wet surfaces. Twice I went flying when entering a store from the wet parking lot.

Love the way this boot feels and looks, but if you actually want to go out in deep snow or wade through water without a gaiter, they won't work at all. The space between the "tongue" of the boot and the side is not gusseted at all past the first inch or two, so any water or moisture will immediately soak right through to the lining of the boot. However, if you want a "looking cute while shopping/heading to class/picking up the kids from school during a snowstorm" boot, these are perfect!

These are great boots until the temperature drops below -5. You try to walk around on the tundra with them for more than forty-five minutes and you may have frostbite. The rating of -25 is not accurate at all.

I purchased this shoe for my lady as she has adored it's appearance for some time. Zappos delivered promptly for her birthday even on short notice (love you guys!). Sadly, the shoe was not a comfortable fit. She described it as "things stabbing her ankles". I inspected the innards of the shoe and found that the rubber sole is under-sown (as opposed to flush) to the leather upper and it does indeed dig in. During my inspection, I also noticed that the tongue of the shoe is open from approx. the second eyelet (from the bottom) negating the waterproofness of the boot from this point on up. I'm sure it would do a terrific job keeping snow out, but water, no. Terrific looking boot, but when buying Sorel's I expect them to be functional first. Returning for a refund.

Sorry to say... I found these unwearable. The wool felt liner buckles with every step, pressing painfully into the back of the ankle. I had had enough when I came home with bloody ankles after the 4th or 5th wearing. The wool is quite abrasive, which not only hurts but will ruin your socks and tights. Also, they are ridiculously wide. It was like I was wearing frying pans on my feet! I am shocked that these boots have received such high ratings. I exchanged them for a pair of Keen waterproof hiking boots and I'm much happier. Kudos to Zappos for great customer service, especially since I had already thrown away the box!

I bought these last season and would not recommend them. They are extremely wide around the ankle and are consequently uncomfortable. Felt a bit like boats. Using the laces to attempt to make the ankle area as tight as possible, the holes for the laces broke. Attractive, but not up to snuff for normal width feet.

Love these boots. Super warm, super comfortable and super cute. Looked around a lot for great winter boots, and these fill the bill. I've owned Sorels before and knew what great quality they were, and I'm not disappointed in this pair. I ordered true to size (8 1/2) and they fit perfectly. Living in SoCal, I don't wear them every day, but on my extensive trips to the snow, it's the only shoe/boot I take. Cute, comfy, safe and warm.
