Had to find a replacement for our Black & Decker carafe coffee maker which we were very unhappy with. After looking at all the models and price, we decided on a brand we'd never heard of before and we love it! Highly recommend it to anyone who wants a carafe (and this keeps it hot much longer than our old B&D) and who wants a simple machine to operate. On top of that, it looks great on the countertop.

I purchased this Zojirushi EC-BD15BA coffee maker a few weeks ago, particularly for the thermal carafe, to replace a troublesome "Mr. Coffee PSTX series". This Zojirushi makes a good average cup of coffee, and the thermal carafe stays hot a couple of hours; the fuller it is, the longer it stays hot. It is 15" tall, so measure your space if you plan to put it under your top cupboards. Without the carafe, this coffeemaker weighs about 4-1/2 pounds. (I keep it on a poly chopping board to easily move it out from under my cupboards when in use, so it will not steam up the wood.) When you put the lid on the carafe, be sure to line up the "O" indicator with the O on the pitcher, and don't tighten it any more than necessary to close it just enough to fit under the brew basket, or you may a hard time getting it off (the instructions in the manual are awkward for this procedure). I can use a little less coffee with the required #4 cone-shaped filter than I did with the cup-shaped filter in a previous coffee pot. "Melitta" brand brown cones hold together well; I turn the bottom ridge of the cone up a little extra so the paper does not extend beyond the top rim of the filter basket. I was really impressed with how fast Zappos sent this coffeemaker to my home, and I really like their enthusiasm and all that "Love" they send along, too!

I wrote a review on 4-18-11 that the coffee maker only worked 4 months. Called Zappos and they sent me a new one, no questions asked! Outstanding. Hopefully this one will last longer, but with the customer service Zappos has, it was just an inconvenience not life altering. Thanks Zappos.

Bought this in Nov of 2010. Very please with the taste of the coffee, however it quit working today! 4 months! For the price, should last longer don't ya think?

This was my first thermal carafe, and I am somewhat disappointed in its performance. The extraction of the coffee was somewhat lacking, as well. I tried a metallic filter and paper filters, and none of them performed as well as my favorite, now discontinued coffee makers. To me, it appears the filter basket valve allows the water to flow too freely, and I suspect that the distance the water must flow creates a problem with the temperature of the brewed coffee. Preheating the carafe with boiling water helps, but is not an acceptable cure for the basic problem. The silver lining to this dark cloud may be that I simply stop drinking coffee. I had normally brewed two to three pots of coffee per day. Now, I seldom brew more than three pots per week, and that total is dropping.

I looked on the web at lots of coffee pots... since I like to shop Zappos, I ordered this one... it came the next day and so far I'm pleased… one of the reviews said it was difficult to turn the lid to pour coffee and that is true, I needed help to even budge it... but if you don't screw the top on all the way before you put the pot in place, there is no problem turning it to pour the coffee... also check to see if it will fit under your cupboards... mine does, but I pull it out to make coffee... not a problem... so yes, I am happy with my new pot.

Works as promised, efficient and quick. The only drawback is the little black 'keep hot' lid and if you forget to remove it before brewing a fresh pot, you will flood the kitchen counter, like I've done, several times so we don't use it anymore. Super fast efficient delivery from Zappos.com naturally!

Great tasting coffee; carafe keeps coffee hot for three to four hours. It is a 10-cup coffeemaker...keep that in mind. The style is kind of different but it works.

I am very happy with this coffee maker. I usually get percolators, but decided to try this when my perk wasn't making good coffee; glad I did. Non of the previous stated problems. Maybe doesn't keep coffee hot for hours, but you can stick in the micro with out any weird taste.

Love this coffee pot! It got good reviews on Consumer Reports. This makes great coffee, is easy to use and I love the sleek design. We had a Cuisinart which brewed good coffee but the lid to the pot was very difficult to put on and take off. We purchased a Krups, but the design was so poor that you couldn't pour the water from the pot into the coffee maker!

We are especially enjoying the taste of the coffee. This carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours and it doesn't taste 9 days old! My husband often makes the coffee early - I go walk our dog; when I return an hour or two later the coffee is still hot and tastes fresh! No more warming plate that uses energy to keep the coffee hot and constantly cooking the coffee which makes it taste horrible. I choose this one for its sleek design, but yes, it is tall. I have had their rice cooker for years, so the company has earned my trust.

This coffee maker is great. I've had it for about 3 years now, and it makes the coffee nice and hot and keeps it hot for hours. Some people might find the carafe top tricky to work on and off, but it's never been a problem for me.

We bought this item about 2 years ago and we love this coffee pot. It makes a really good cup of coffee and the carafe keeps the coffee hot for 4-5 hours. Worth every penny!

I love this coffee maker. I have had it for two years and have never had a problem with it. It is easy to clean, makes great coffee and the thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours. My only complaint would be the design of the carafe. After brewing, you must put a cap on the carafe to keep the contents hot. But this is a minor inconvenience for an otherwise great product. I would recommend it to anybody, and just bought one for a wedding shower gift.

I have had this coffee maker for the last 4 years. Loved it. Always made good coffee from the pot, never had any problems any others experienced. I don't understand how could those two customers had such bad experiences using this coffee maker.

First of all - I must give props to Zappos for the excellent delivery service. I ordered it on 2/15 and received the item on 2/16 - AMAZING!!! I absolutely love this Zojirushi thermal coffee maker. The carafe keeps my coffee warm for hours, so I can enjoy fresh-tasting coffee at anytime. Love the design - it looks good and I can easily clean the filter basket.

Best coffee maker I ever had. Coffee stays hot and tastes great.
The carafe can get a little tight, but manageable. Perhaps a little expensive, but worth it. Love it!

Our Zojirushi arrived a day late, but was worth the wait! It brews in about 3 minutes and makes a good cup. The pour spout doesn't really pour, but we took the lid off to pour and that solved that problem. Also, it doesn't keep coffee warm for long, only about an hour and then you have to reheat it. Quiet, good quality.

A pretty good coffee maker. I love not having to worry about the hot plate under a glass carafe. The coffee stays hot for a reasonable amount of time. The coffee filters do not fit perfect but it is easy to work around if you are not too picky. Also, be careful not to tighten the screw on lid. If you keep it a little loose, the top will work just as well and won't get oversize due to what I think may be heat expansion.

The simplicity is nice; no extra features to complicate the performance. Makes good coffee and the carafe keeps it warm for hours. Only downside is that it doesn't alert you when the brewing is complete. But it's fast and easy and small enough to keep on the counter. Great deal.

Almost perfect. Makes great coffee, keeps it nice and hot, and looks classy.
My only real complaint is how hard it is to get the lid off. Most of the time I need to use a towel to get a good enough grip to unscrew the stupid thing. The digital interface is not well designed, either - as you can accidentally change the time without having to hold down a second button or anything.

We've had this maker for about a year now and I'd say it's mediocre at best. It's too tall, makes warm (not hot) coffee, difficult to screw top off carafe, carafe not easily centered right under the drip area, and the little ball in the window that shows how much water you put in often gets stuck at the bottom. On the plus side, it's a programmable thermal coffee maker -- very hard to find a good one.

I hate it. It doesn't make hot coffee. And it's a pain in the butt. The top/lid/cover is in 2 parts. You have to take the top cap off to make the coffee and put it back to keep in warm. I knew my husband was going to forget to take off the cap, and sure enough, coffee everywhere. What a mess. It's definitely going back.

I was so disappointed. I read and followed all instructions. The first time I put water in this machine it ran out the bottom and destroyed the electronics inside.
