Absolute junk. The seal was defective and leaked from the bottom every time I used it. It ran that way for two cycles, before it gave out. I will never buy a junked up Chinese made coffee maker like this again. I still love Zappos.

Love this coffee pot. Great tasting coffee. I heat up my mug for 30 seconds after pouring since I like it really hot. Finally found a coffee pot that can make really good coffee and doesn't have to keep heating water all day.

When I saw this coffee maker at Zappos, I had to let everyone know that I've been using this coffee maker for 5 years. It's the best one I've ever owned! (I'm a 40 year coffee drinker.) I like my coffee hot and this carafe keeps it that way for hours. I can highly recommend it!

I bought this coffee maker because we wanted one that used a thermal carafe and not a hot plate. It makes great tasting coffee, but it brews all over the counter top 1 out of every 10 pots. If the tip of the filter mechanism and the top of the carafe are not aligned to perfection, this problem happens. That makes for a very disappointing experience. Fear of this happening with every pot prevents our household from setting up the pot at night and using the timer mechanism. This glitch prevents me from recommending it to others.

Do not buy this coffee maker. It is cheaply made, an awkward size, and it leaks if you do not line up the tiny openings just right. I wish I did not spend so much for this piece of junk. I wanted the thermal carafe, but I should have looked elsewhere. The machine itself is the equivalent of a cheap coffee maker. Zappos should not even carry it.

I love the idea of it keeping my coffee hot but it doesn't for long. And there is a problem with the manufacturing of the lid. It's almost impossible to get the lid off. The heat causes the lid to swell and I can't get it open.

The best automatic coffee maker. I threw out the other drip coffee maker in my ohana house after tasting the difference. The coffee was really better after brewing in the Zojirushi. We live in Kona Coffee country and my husband roasts our coffee and I wouldn't brew it in anything else...plus it has a carafe that keeps my coffee warm all morning!

Read other reviews before purchase. Did not find any issues that brains and directions wouldn't solve. 8 min to brew complete. Coffee very hot and coffeemaker easy to operate. Stays hot along time depending on what you accept as hot enough. I take the whole carafe with me when I go and it is durable and keeps it 2-3 hours.

I am ordering our second Zo coffee maker. It's one of the few on the market that have a stainless steel carafe (glass breaks too easily) with an automatic shutoff. Our first one is still in service after several years, and we are getting a second one for our vacation condo. While I am not thrilled that it is so tall, the fact that I don't have to worry about fire from someone leaving the pot on makes it worth the slight inconvenience. And we think it makes really good coffee.

This coffee maker seemed very insubstantial and very tall. It also had a hard to read control panel and too many specific steps were needed to actually make the coffee ie. sprayer arm, etc. I was worried these parts would not stand the test of time. I should have heeded previous reviewer's warnings about the carafe. It was awkward to pour and actually hurt my palm while twisting it open and closed.

While I read every review, and knew of this potential problem, I thought that I could "be careful" about lining up the coffee pot with the filling area. However, I find that I am not an exception! This coffee maker does make very good coffee, but as careful as I am, I have a mess with coffee all over the counter and floor about 30% of the time. I am returning this appliance as I do not have time nor patience for the inconvenience of messes!

Wow, Zappos really blew my doors off with this coffee maker. As soon as I opened the box I could smell the coffee. The coffee maker looked well broken in with water stains, coffee stains, scratches and calcification. Very authentic! Great job Zappos! Very creative business model to sell items previously used in your break rooms! This item came in no original packaging and is not only damaged/used, but it doesn't actually work (that is to say heat water). You've outdone yourselves!

Nice looks, good coffee. BUT leaks all over the counter top. Waters comes from the heating loop next to the open electonics and 120v twisted wire connects. A death trap!

What a piece of crap! With leaks from the bottom this is a poorly made piece of junk, don't waste your time or money. Not how I wanted to start my Saturday morning.

June 6, 2012 REVIEW UPDATE: I really wanted to love this coffee maker but that is impossible. It still brews all over the counter top a large percentage of the time - no matter how careful and precisely aligned we set it up. It would appear that the spring mechanism in the outer filter basket gets stuck halfway through a brew cycle. This causes half of the coffee to brew into the carafe and the remaining water overflows in the filter area and then spills out onto the counter top. So, I fear this coffee maker will be returning to Zappos.
