I live in aerobic and zumba classes, but have problem feet. This style of New Balance is perfect for wide, flat feet. They have great support and I can last for hours. I have worn mine for about six months. This time I ordered a pair for my sister.

I've been wearing the NB855 for years and was a bit nervous when I learned that NB had replaced them with the 856. No need to worry - these are as comfortable as the old version. I wear a 9W and these still fit the same. They are the shoes I wear for all my workouts: strength training, elliptical and treadmill, and Zumba classes; offers plenty of support and not overly heavy. What else is there to say? Good shoe that I will continue to buy (until NB discontinues the 856 and replaces it with the next upgrade!).

I have very wide feet, high arches and narrow heels...basically like swim fins. All my life it has been a challenge to find shoes that would get by. I ordered these shoes and absolutely love the fit. After wearing them the first day for many hours, there was no burning or pain...I am going to order another pair. Highly recommend this shoe.

Love these shoes and buying them at Zappos.com saved me money over suggested retail price. I need a wide, so not always able to find my size in the store. I especially like this style because of the roll-bar technology. I have bad pronation and now my hips and knees are starting to get arthritic. Walking with foot in good position really helps. I would say, try them on in person to be sure of your size if you have not worn this style before. I take a half-size larger than normal shoe in this style. Also love that Zappos customer service rep offered me VIP club. I get free, next-day air shipping with no strings attached. Zappos.com is one of my new favorite sites!

These shoes felt great except that they seemed too tall up towards my ankle. So, I guess if you are looking for great ankle support, these are the shoes for you. Everything else was great.

I loved these sneakers from the first try on. They are extremely comfortable with the wide width I need. On top of that they are good looking to the eye. Once again New Balance is a hit.

Because of pronation, I've been using this shoe with the rollbar for years. I was nervous about the new style -- 856 instead of 855 -- but it fit like a glove and felt so comfortable. I love it, and now I'm sorry I didn't order two pairs at first. It's now out of stock in my size.

I need a narrow, cross training shoe for gym work. these are supportive without being too aggressive. THe fit and feel great immediately. I wear a half size larger in New Balance than other shoes.

The shoes fit great they are very comfortable. Since I have trouble with my feet always make sure I get a good quality shoe, and I never fail with NB. Thank you New Balance!

I am very happy with this shoe. I have a very difficult time finding exercise shoes that fit and are comfortable; my foot is narrow and I wear orthotics, which further complicates things. So, I was very pleased to find that this New Balance shoe works very well for me in my exercise classes. In addition, it is made in the United States, which was a very pleasant surprise. I also have the New Balance WX1011 (also purchased from Zappos) which is also a good shoe and fits well, but not quite as well as the WX856 and is made in China. It does not make sense that the tag on the WX856 says that New Balance is proud that they have several factories in the U.S. and then the WX1011 is made in China.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! I went into a local New Balance store and was measured for several different things. I wear arch supports, but it seems like lately I was needing more cushioning under the balls of my feet. After several different tests, he put me into these shoes and they felt great. I did end up going up half a size from what I thought I wore though. That is what he said was correct for me and I have not had any problems with it. I have worn New Balance shoes for a long time, but I typically buy them at a cheaper department store. I really did not want to pay the orice that they were in the store, so I walked away. I got online to see if I could get them any cheaper and Zappos was definitely a great deal. I got them for much less with no shipping - saved myself quite a bit!

When I first wore these sneakers it took a little bit of time to get used to them. This is probably because they have more arch support than I was used to. Since this was one of the reasons why I selected this model, I gave them a couple more wears and now I'm completely used to them.

Bought these for my mom to use every day hoping they will be comfortable if she were on her feet all day and she loves them. The 2E is definitely wide enough for her feet to feel snug but not squished. Definitely recommend this buy for women with wide feet that are seeking a comfortable and affordable shoe.

Zappos is the only place to shop! Excellent service! Excellent customer care! The 856 is great, however before you decide check out the 846. For a few dollars more they are worth every penny. I still kept the 856 after I ordered the 846. The overall comfort and style is slightly less and the leather not quite as soft but not enough problem to make me return them. I really can't answer the question about arch support. I have flat feet and needed to take the inner sole out for extra depth. Hope this helps.

I am a bit disappointed in this shoe. Don\'t feel that it is true to size. I\'ll be going back to the W811 next time.

As always, I was extremely pleased with the Zappos customer service. However, I must admit that I do not like the NB WX856 shoes as well as the 844 series (I went through 3 pairs of those and loved them!). These have a wide toe box, not very cushioned insoles, do not feel as soft and flexible, and actually tire my legs more. (I work 12 hour shifts as a nurse).

This shoe caused me to have tendinitis in my knee, go to the doctor, and take lots of ibuprofen. It didn't work for me, which was disappointing, since I usually really like New Balance shoes.

The front of these shoes feel too wide. I have to pull the laces tight to keep the shoes from flopping. Yet there is still this 'sloppy toe' feeling, however my ankles feel like they're being strangled by the laces. These shoes also feel heavy. Won't be buying these again!

This is my second pair and I really like them. I do Jazzercise (aerobics class) and they give me the stability I need. I wish they weren't so expensive.

I have very wide feet and needed a gym shoe in a 4E width. Every other shoe I tried was too narrow, but the WX856 was the perfect width for me. It did take some time for the shoe to break in, but it was worth it because this shoe is so comfortable now! I wish it was available in other colors! Will order again in the future.

These shoes are great. My feel are wide feet and a high arch. I have been wearing the 993's and was experiencing pain in the upper part of the sole of my foot. These are the best shoes I have had for walking. I hope NB keeps making this shoe.

I've already ordered a second pair as New Balance tends to change the styles frequently. I've worn the first pair for 6 months of 12 hour shifts with no change in appearance or performance. The WX-001 last is just what I need for support. If this shoe doesn't fit you, try a New Balance built on a different footbed (last). Thank you, Zappos, for including the last in the shoe information! I have fussy feet with a 4A heel and low ankles, the cut-out for the ankles is low enough and I can put my custom orthotics in the shoe without removing the insole or squishing my foot on the inside.
