Love the shoes but too small. Returning for next size.

i ordered an 8.5 but they felt little bit too narrow. Also, had some issue at the heal _rough leather. So, I ordered a 9 and also in Wide width. I have to keep stretching the right foot as it is too narrow, still. I could have used the 8.5 in length but needed the half size up for greater with. I am using a leather softener on the shoe as they are stiff and hard, and am also using a shoe stretcher. The shoe hopefully will work once i take care of these issues. The shoe itself is very nice and i feel it will be a fun switch from my usual boots.

I ordered these shoes after lusting after this particular style and primarily the color combination for decades! I had always wanted a pair of Saddle shoes in the blue and tan, with the red soles and rounded toe since they came back into fashion early in my high school years. But, that color combo only came in an expensive brand, that also produced the many bright color combos for the cheerleaders to wear in their high school colors, such as red and white, green and white, blue and white, as well as blue and the tan color I really liked best. My parents refused to buy them, I had no money of my own (having never received a dime of allowance during my entire childhood.) Anyway, they operated under the badly mistaken belief that cheap and ugly shoes would serve just as well. WRONG!! They made me a target for every snob and bully in the place. Anyway, back to the shoes in question! I placed my order after consulting the size chart they provided, calculating that a 10½ Wide would/should fit me. Being no stranger to wide width shoes, I ordered them, happy that a 10½ anything even existed! I got them in no time flat, and was very excited to get the box open, and get them on my feet. I have wide feet, but they don't usually keep me from wearing "off the rack" wide shoes. So, I wasn't concerned, as I opened the boxes and brought out the first shoe. My right foot happens to be just a tiny bit larger than my left, so I always fit my shoes to the right foot, figuring that if the shoe fits that foot, it should easily fit the left. I undid the laces, opened up the top of the shoe, inserted the shoe horn in the heel, and prepared to put that first shoe on my foot. It was not to be. My foot wouldn't go even halfway into the shoe. I wasn't yet defeated, however, so I took the lace completely out of all the grommets, down to the last set across the instep. This allowed me to open the top of the shoe completely, and remove tongue partially out of the shoe by pulling it straight up and out of the shoe, making the opening much larger. But, even that wasn't enough. I still couldn't get my foot down in the shoe, even by using a shoe horn! I honestly don't know if I was guided incorrectly by the chart, or what. I checked the order chart, and there wasn't any larger size available in a wide width. I wanted to cry, since this meant I would have to give the shoes back for a full refund, as promised, instead of an exchange for a larger size. So, I sent them back, carefully repackaged, just as they were sent to me, and received a prompt and full refund. I'm sure the problems I experienced with this shoe were strictly because of the structure of my feet, and nothing to do with the shoes. They felt and appeared to be made of good quality materials. All the other positive reviews on here have come from highly satisfied customers, and there can only be one reason for that, and that has to be shoes well made out of quality materials. You can't get better than that, no matter what brand name or price tag is attached to them!

Very cute and authentic oxfords. Toe box is nice and wide and overall comfort is good. However, the top of the shoe hits at a bad spot on my ankle and the leather feels almost sharp against my skin, even with medium weight socks. Regret I had to return.

The shoes needed a bit of break in time to be comfortable and they were OK. But they are SO NOISY. They squeak every time you even shift position. Loudly. I would not repurchase due to the squeaking.

The size 6.5W I ordered is the same size at the 6.5B. Disappointed. This is the 2nd time I tried to get the correct size. I really like the shoe if I could get a true 6.5W.

I ordered a size 6W for my 10 year old. Last school year she wore a Big Kids 4W. The 6W and 4W are the very same size. These were returned. Must wear saddle shoe for school. Adult wides are hard to find. This is a very stiff, uncomfortable shoe.

I soooo... wanted these to work, however the leather is so tough and not pliable at all. It would take me quite a while and sore feet to break them in. It was just at the top part, as you walk the leather has to' flex' and it did to a point but it was very stiff. The size and width felt very true! Such a cute style! I wish they would make them with more flexible/softer materials.

I was very excited to see these shoes and order them. Based on reviews, I ordered a half size larger (10.5); however, I couldn't even get my foot into them, much less walk around in them. Boo Hoo! Sorry, but these shoes are just too narrow. As one who is a typical size ten, the size 10-1/2 should have been a good fit. Must return these shoes, even though they are just what I was looking for.!

I found the toe on these to be incredibly bulbous. They had a clown-like effect. I wanted to love them, but they looked ridiculous. My feet aren't very large (size 7), so I can't imagine how they would look on larger feet. The shoe itself seemed well constructed and the leather and laces were nice. I just wish the toe wasn't so wide and domed so high. They would have been great. The show was so incredibly wide that my feet were sliding side to side. I think that if the show were narrower and I had sized up it would have been good. Too bad.

I have wanted a pair of saddle shoes to wear with jeans, etc for the longest time. The shoes looked great, seemed solid and appeared to be constructed well. However, I ended up returning them (the return process was seamless). The reason is that they were exceedingly stiff and when I tried walking in them the felt extremely heavy. Had those two things not turned me off, I would have given 5 stars all around and kept them!

The leather was too stiff

I went a half size up (8½ instead of 8) and the fit was fine. The shoes are very stiff and crease painfully across the top of my feet when walking. I love the look of them, but it is not worth the discomfort.

They are styled perfectly and the narrow width is nice, but they're so hard and uncomfortable that I'm sending these super cute saddles back.

I don't know why this shoe received such rave reviews. I think the leather is hard as a rock. I don't see how it wold ever be comfortable. It's like putting your foot between two boards. It's a very pretty shoe and although I ordered a size too large I'm sure the next size down would fit, I won't be reordering this one but finding some other shoe.

These are very cute but very uncomfortable. I am normally between a normal size and wide. I ordered wide just to be sure and they are still WAY to narrow. And they are very stiff. Unfortunately, I will be sending them back.

I like the way these look and they felt stiff but okay, so I wore them to work. Unfortunately, they became less comfortable as the day wore on, creasing across the base of my toes and causing pain. I'm sure someone at Goodwill will like them.

As always - love Zappos. Ordered wide shoe and half size larger in order to accommodate bunion. Could not get my foot in the shoe at all.

These shoes are SO NICE. I love them. Unfortunately, they run very narrow. As stated in previous reviews, there is plenty of room in the toe, but to get the shoe on is nearly impossible!! Where the black is seems to be the issue. I sent back the first pair and ordered another in a wide width, which I have never worn. Same problem. If you can get them on, buy them!! They are classic, but updated with the clunkier sole! Good Luck and Thank You, Zappos!!! <3

These shoes are adorable! So sad that they are very narrow and my heel feels like it sinks into the shoe and I can feel a bump under my arch where the shoes heel joins the sole.

Poor quality. The leather is ruined after wearing a few times. The leather finish is so thin that they scuff immediately and it cannot be polished out because of material loss. We are required to buy this brand for school so I'm locked in to purchasing regardless of quality. I'd never recommend these.

Appear to be well made. However they felt at least a full size too small.

This shoe is very heavy and very stiff. I thought it would "break in" after some wear, but gave my daughter horrible blisters. We ordered for school shoes and now cannot wear. Very disappointed and waste of money.

This shoe runs VERY small ... returning it today.

Totally unacceptable shoe - totally stiff, has no give or ability to bend / flex with your foot
