I'd been wanting this shoe for a long time. It arrived, but with a visible scuff mark on the toe. Returning for a new pair! Fit was perfect.

I have always loved the saddle shoe...I used to wear them in grade/high school. I used the other reviews to choose my shoe size - I'm normally a 7 and ordered the 7/12. They are very comfortable and have gotten many compliments on them.

I like the Varsity better than the Upper Class version. I have a pretty wide foot, and ordered my regular shoe size in Varsity. The Upper Class is sleeker, and the Varsity is chunkier and rounder. I have also had the saddle shoes by Bass - they have a much lower profile and are sleeker looking than Varsity and Upper Class. (They remind me of the ones the snobby cheerleaders in high school wore.) The Varsity look more like the kind we wore when we were little kids in the '50s. If you are prone to heel blisters, be aware that the Varsity is higher in the back than the others. I just used mole skin for the break in process. If you want the childhood experience, the heel blisters that come with new Saddle "Oscars" are a must. Love School Issue Varsity (Adult)

Needed Saddle Shoes for a "James Dean's Birthday - 1950's Party." Didn't want costume type shoes. These shoes are the real thing, well made, I wore them and danced in them all night and they were very comfortable. I had several people comment on how good looking they are. I would certainly recommend them.

It's interesting what gets a person to buy a pair of shoes last week, a woman I work with wore a cool pair of Puma saddle-shoe-like sneakers. She had wanted true saddle shoes, but not being an Internet shopper, she had gotten these Puma groovies locally instead. But it got me thinking about saddle shoes! So (being an Internet shopper indeed), I went to Zappos and found these terrific classic oxfords. I love them! I think they will be my spring season "statement" shoe. The lines of this shoe are gorgeous. Also, they are leather, not vinyl (wasn't sure at first), and that's a good deal for $64. When I first put them on, I thought they wouldn't be comfortable. There will be some breaking in, regarding that bend point that happens when you walk (where the main part of your foot meets your toes, on the top of your foot), but I think that will work out. Size - I hover between a 9 & 9 1/2. The 9 1/2 is perfect. I do have narrow feet, and the M width is just right with light socks. You might need a wide width if you have average-width feet. Bottom line, these shoes rock, and they weren't even on my radar a week ago!

I love these shoes so much! I went by what a lot of the reviews said and needed to return the first pair. If you have a wide foot, get the wide. The wide version does not look out of proportion, at all! If I had not listened to the reviews, I would have had the right size in the first place. I wear a 9/9.5, I got the 9.5 W, they are still a smidge tight but with wear will be perfect.

I got these for my daughter for Christmas, and she loves them. She wanted them for awhile.

These were a Christmas present for my 41 year old daughter. Her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when she opened them. She said they are a little 'stiff' but thinks they will be perfect after a couple of wearings. Mostly, she LOVES them!

I always wanted saddle shoes and now I have them! GREATEST shoes I have ever worn! I have gotten so many compliments from friends family and even strangers! 1000% awesome! I am wearing them now as I wright this review!

I love, love, love these shoes so much! I had a similar pair several years ago that my dog got a hold of, and I have been trying to replace them ever since, but I haven't been able to find a pair that I felt had enough personality and spunk. While this new pair isn't quite as spunky as the ones I had previously, they are very cute and look nice with casual jeans, a cute skirt, or classy slacks. These shoes are very comfortable. I wore them to work, right out of the box and my feet were just as comfortable by the end of the day. I wear size 10 regular, and I ordered size 10 wide and they fit perfectly. I think that if I had ordered a size 10 regular they would have been way too narrow. It turned out perfect and I am satisfied with my purchase. The price for these shoes is right, too.

These shoes are of excellent quality and I absolutely love them; however, I have to return them because I have a wide foot, and the wide I ordered just wasn't wide enough. It really breaks my heart to send them back because they are just what I wanted. I would recommend these to anyone wanting a high-quality saddle shoe.

Love my Saddle Shoes! I ordered up & out! Takes awhile to break them in. Just as I remember them when I was a little girl. Used good old saddle soap to help soften 'em! Great fun to wear & lots of comments, about the old days gone by. Memories are great!

These are my favorite shoes to wear to work as my 7th graders love them. Actually I wear them because they are so comfortable, but I do get lots of positive comments, too.

Since I had so many compliments on my black/white saddles, ordered a 2nd pair in the navy/white! Received them on Friday, put them right on, no break-in needed and so comfy! I grew up wearing saddles and bass weejuns, so you know how happy that can make a girl go back to her younger days! Thank you Zappos, you rock!

I love these shoes. They fit perfect, a little snug in width at first but fit perfect now. After a couple days wear leather will stretch. I have heel pain a lot with other shoes but not with these. Zappo's you are the bomb! Love your service and your shoes! As for the pointy toe they are just right, true to the saddle oxford style. The rounded toe oxford was called a bubble toe, came out in the late 70's for cheerleaders. So not a true saddle oxford original style. As for this shoe being the in thing or in style I'm sure it's not. But ladies will always admire them even if their not brave enough to wear them. I just put comfort first. Wear with jeans, chino's, Capri's, and skirts. I love these shoes! Penny

Good value for a high quality product. My daughter's pricey shoes she had been wearing for her school uniform were lasting only 2 to 3 months. These shoes seem to be holding up well. The fit runs slightly large compared to Willits and JJ School. My only complaint is that the toe box tips up slightly, faintly resembling clown shoes. But it's worth it to get the better price and quality.

Amazing shoes. I work retail and need comfort and style. I have a tough time finding shoes because I wear a youth 3 or ladies 6. I ordered the youth and needed the ladies I needed just a little more room to be comfortable. Customer service was amazing because I told them my situation and I had the new shoes the next day YES overnight. Hassle free return and free overnight shipping. Just received my saddles! They are exactly what I was looking for. They remind me of high school! Comfortable, good looking and can't wait to wear out. The Zappos service is outstanding, they have the best people working, very helpful. I usually wear 8.5W, ordered 9W.perfect fit! Again, Zappos you are a #1 favorite!

I have been looking for a quality pair of saddle shoes. I did not wear them when I was younger, but have always liked the style. These are well made, and no time needed to break them in, they were comfortable and fit great! I get compliments every time I wear them.

These are really well made, quality shoes. I bought them for a male college student (2 full sizes larger than girls' sizing) and they fit perfectly and he loves them. Very preppy. He wears them with shorts, khaki pants, jeans, white pants, black pants. The largest size is women's 11 which is guys size 9. They need to make larger sizing for guys too!

What a great shoe. Just LOVE them. Really would like to buy another pair. This is a solid saddle shoe, just like we used to wear in school. Runs about 1/2 size small. The leather is a little stiff at first, but after just a couple of wearings, they are very comfortable. Great solid genuine saddle shoe!

Shoes are too small, ordered an 8, my usual size, too small and narrow (M width) even with light sneaker socks. They’re pretty but returning them.

These shoes are super cute! They will require a little breaking in, they are a little stiff, as others have said. However, I did not have any trouble getting them on my feet. They are adorable with jeans and dresses.

I ordered my regular size and they fit just right. I thought I might have to wear them a few times to break them in but first day I wore them about 5 hours and they felt fine. One shoe rubbed a small area on my heel but I put a bandaid on the area and I had no issues the rest of the day.

LOVE these shoes ! reminds me of when I was a cheerleader in high school :D) the only thing that sort of bother me is, if I cross my ankles the red from the other shoe rubs off on to the other shoe and vise versa. so every time I wear them, I have to clean the red dye off the shoes.
