I absolutely loved these shoes, but I have narrow feet and they were too wide. Would've bought several pairs if they came in narrow. Perfect for average or wide widths.

I really wanted to love these classic, not made in China, well made shoes. I tested them 3 separate times on my carpeted floor in effort to keep them. However, the seam of the shoe near my toes kept digging into my feet. It was just too painful. :(

Breaking in my first pair, and they're amazingly comfortable (definitely don't expect to get blisters from these!) and gorgeous! I find them true to size. My only complaint is the traction on the sole is not great; I almost slipped several times on two different carpeted floors (and on a sidewalk). Perhaps this gets better over time, but this was unexpected for me.

The same great quality I've come to expect from Frye. These will be a staple for a very long time. The color is perfect! Pretty and neutral at the same time. They are very light, with no padding or support in the sole, so have a 'barefoot' feel. I have only worn them a handful of times, but the leather is already starting to conform for a comfortable, personal fit.

This is a very attractive shoe: the green color is fairly intense without being bright or gaudy, allowing the shoe to function somewhat as a neutral. It has a distressed finish and appears to be very well made. For my (wide) feet the shoe is narrow, but I am keeping it because 5½s are impossible to find (Zappos is already out of the 5½ in this style) and I think the shoe will stretch. It is very expensive but I am investing in it because it is of great workmanship and just beautiful. It looks like an expensive shoe.

Love the leather ... very soft ... very comfortable. True to size. Rated 4 instead of 5 because I would prefer a non-slip sole instead of leather. Very slippery. Love the style and look and comfort.

Love these shoes! They are the perfect color (I ordered Dark Brown Antique)and so simple. But.... Several of the reviews said they ran true to size and Frye typically does but the shoes I received are a size too small. I have several Frye shoes and I always wear a 9. I laughed when I tried to put them on as they were not even close. I am going to return them and order again in a size larger.

I have carson flats from a number of years ago which fit perfectly in my regular size. These flats, in the same size, pinched and hurt in so many places that I could not use them at all. No way that many issues would resolve with wearing. I returned them for 1/2 size larger and they are perfect. Love the colors and the quality. If I wanted something with more support I'd wear sneakers.

I'm giving the Frye Carson Ballet 4 stars rather than 5 because it is a bit wide for me--I love the burnt red. In younger days I wore narrow shoes and now I find only a few brands fit me well. The Frye ballet shoe is nicely made, leather sole, which is sort of unusual; however, I paid more than I usually do for a ballet flat. I've worn the shoes several times. When sit, relaxed, the shoes do not stay on my feet well, the heels drop off, and I tend to kick them off. I'm wearing them barefoot. If you choose this shoe, be aware of the low-cut throat--it hits my foot at the joint of my great toe. My toes are not revealed, and the fit is attractive. The leather is soft, and after 2-3 wearings, I noted it buckled slightly at the heel. In summary, a stylish, very pretty and moderately comfortable shoe. Not good for extended walking. I view it as more of a dress shoe than even a work-a-day shoe; I definitely would choose something else out of my wardrobe for a rainy day. No arch support at all, but then, this is advertised as a "ballet" shoe.

Great shoes! I wear a size 8.5-9 and I ordered a size 8.5. They are a little snug but I think they will stretch. They don't hurt or rub my feet at all. A little pricey but I'm happy with my purchase. I also like that they are made in the U.S. by a reputable company.

I am generally pleased with my purchase of antique navy carson ballets, but offer a few observations. The antique navy is so close to black as to be indistinguishable, even when placed next to a black clothing item. I needed both black and blue flats, so I'll keep them regardless. The model is also very low cut. Some toe cleavage is visible, as are my bunions. While it makes it more comfortable that the shoe puts no pressure on my bunions, it doesn't disguise them, either.

The shoes are adorable with a very sexy dip in the sides, very comfortable, and I expect to get another pair; however, they are huge! That's the frustrating thing about Frye -- all my boots felt snug initially but stretched. Ballet flats appear to be opposite. I expect they'll be fine with an insole pad in the toe but I'll definitely order in a half size smaller for my next pair. Unfortunately I took the leap and wore them out, hoping they fit snugger as I expect my feet will swell a little but no go. How else can you figure this out other than trying them out for a day? Still a huge Frye fan but pretty frustrated with this order.

I love this shoe. It's very simple with an attractive vamp. Very flat. No grip on the sole (like most Frye shoes) so a bit slippery on carpet. BUT the 10 is not a large 10, and the 11 is too small. Frye: Please make 10 1/2 sized shoes. Must return.

These are comfortable, well-made, versatile flats that I'll wear for a variety of reasons. I love that the sole isn't rubber, which gives it that extra layer of quality. One note - this color seems more pink to me than beige. I still liked the color, but it may be a little misleading.

I loved these shoes! But the 9.5 was too small for me and the 10 was too big. Very sorry to be sending them back. They're comfortable, cute, and beautifully made. I have a somewhat wide foot, and the width of these fit me just fine in the 9.5. It was perhaps too wide, or maybe just too long, in the 10.

This reviw could sound a little bit odd because I am guy ad I' ve been wearing ballet flats for a while because this kind of shoes are light, comfortable, easy to slip on/off and I love to wear my shoes barefeet in summer and without the hassle of laces. Recently my sister recommended to me the Carson flats, I purchase them and I love how the look and how comfortable they are , it's like wearing slippers everyday! These flats doesn't need break in period, fits great, no blister or sweaty feet and finally I found flats made of true leather. Honestly is the first time that I love to wear shoes, I can wear them at my job with a nice shirt and black pants (I own 3 pairs one in black, cognac and nubuck camel) or dress down and wear them with slim jeans and my feet is alwas fresh and comfortable. The women size US 10 fits me perfectly and love the fact that there is no toe cleavage .They Worth any penny !!

I'm in love with these shoes but they're not in love with me. I wear a 7.5 in most shoes for reference. The 7.5 of the Carson ballet fit like a glove all over my foot, except they were just a smidge too short in the toe box for my big toe to be comfortable. So I tried the 8, and that's the right length but it's too big throughout the rest of the shoe. So maybe if you have longer toes, this style might not work for you. I'm going to try one of the pointier-toe styles next.

These are cute shoes that are very comfortable once they are broken in. I will warn, however, that they run very narrow, so if you have wider feet, go with different shoes or size up! They are classic looking and go with everything.

This shoe fit my foot the first second it came out of the box. The leather is soft, the shoes is very well made, the sole is wood (not rubber), and I'm happy I bought them. My struggle is with the price. There isn't much shoe for the price. I kind of don't get it. There is absolutely no arch anything; this is a flat ballet shoe. The style is nice and I'm happy with it, but the toe is super round. Not exactly trendy or edgy. Overall I'm happy with my purchase but I would buy 12 backup pair if the shoe was priced in a lower range.

I absolutely love these flats. They've been comfortable since the first wear. I've had them for about 6 months, but haven't worn them all that much. The sole has started to crack on one of the shoes, and the heel has worn down a bit. The leather upper is holding up very well, so I might try to get sole fixed. I will definitely purchase another pair in the future, but will probably bring them to a cobbler to get a rubber sole put on before I even wear them.

I love the style of this shoe. It's the perfect ballet flat for daily wear with pants or a dress. One word of warning, which I'm surprised no one has mentioned yet -- the sole has no traction. It's a nearly smooth piece leather that does not get rougher over time. I had to purchase stick-on rubber pads for the soles of these shoes to keep from slipping. I actually slipped on my stairs the first day I wore these shoes, so make sure you put something on the sole before you wear them out! Otherwise, great shoes.

Great pair of shoes. They are certainly well made and fit perfectly right out of the box, with no blisters forming at all. I bought my usual size and wore them quite a bit. Unfortunately, wearing them everyday and walking in the heat caused them to stretch to be about a half size larger than they were originally. If you are going to wear them every now and then, and not every day, then I would get your normal size, but if they become your staple shoe (which they were for me), then think about sizing down a half size. Especially if you live in a warm climate. Only other disadvantages are that they provide little support, and they are smooth on the bottom, so nothing to provide traction. Other than that, a really solid shoe, which is, unfortunately, a rarity. I am probably going to order another pair, despite the sizing issue. The antique cognac color is beautiful.

I got these in cognac and they are very nice. I have a wide foot and usually wear an 8. After a few wears, the leather stretches and the shoe doesn't fit snugly. I should have ordered a 7.5. I've tried using inserts and heel slips, but they don't work very well. The support isn't great -- these aren't the shoes you want to wear for a long day of shopping or walking. I like the shoes for basic every day wear, but I don't wear them much because they've stretched. If you get a pair that fits nicely, you'll probably wear them every day!

Loving! Wanted simple, leather ballet flats, and that's exactly what these are. The rounded toe makes them comfortable, and the low-ish vamp makes them flattering. The downsides are these: from one color to the next, sizing varies (the red feel 1/2 size larger than the cognac); and absolutely no, zero, zilch support. On the other hand, I can't quite imagine hiking in these things :). Will definitely purchase in other colors, and hope I don't have to take advantage of Zappos fantastic exchange service!
