I wanted to like these, but they felt surprisingly flimsy & cheap for the price. I also was terrified to wear them anywhere outside the house because the soles are so so slick. I ended up returning them.

I'm a size 10 and prefer wide width to accommodate my bunions. This shoe is regular width, but it works out because the size is a bit loose.
I also have the same experience as the other reviwer's post about the shoe being too slippery and leather wearing down too quickly. After 1 day in the office and going to some meetings offsite - the bottom is hideous. I skid so many times on many different surfaces.

I love the way these look and feel - and I wear them all the time - but they stretch like crazy and about four months after I bought them, I was walking out of them. The heel widens and they are very loose now, which is really disappointing since they are so comfortable. They are also extremely slippery - particularly on wood surfaces and the edge of stairs. I actually fell down an entire flight of stairs in these shoes.

Given the price, the quality of the leather finish was disappointing with areas of discoloration around the toe.

I wanted to love and keep these so badly. The leather is gorgeous - and they smell wonderful! However, when testing them out, I slipped and fell in them - the soles are very slick. I have to wear flats since I have young children, and after falling in them, I couldn't risk it. So sad - I was in love with these!

Sole is extremely slippery -- and the leather lining is not absorbent at all. Had to return.

These shoes are adorable, but I wish they were better constructed. The sole of the shoe is just leather, which is completely impractical. For the first month or so, you slide and slip everywhere. The only reason it gets better is that the sole starts to wear away, and all the pits and grooves give you traction. After a year of regular use, there are holes in the soles of my pair. I bought my regular size in these shoes and they stretched a good half size up. They're very comfortable, but as others have noted, there's not a lot keeping them on your foot once they stretch a bit. I'm not sure if sizing down would help or if the shoes would just keep stretching.
These are really cute flats that I'm sad to throw out (due to the stretching and the holes), but I'm not sure if I'll get another pair. If I put a rubber sole on and maybe bought some inserts it might work out better, but these are expensive enough shoes that it feels crazy to spend time and money modifying a brand new pair to get them to meet some baseline level of shoe functionality. I've had other Frye flats last me 5+ years. What's up with these Carsons?

I loved this shoe. The feel and look of the leather was amazing. There was no arch support, and not much cushioning in them, but I could overlook that. My problem with the shoe was the in the soles. They were so slippery on certain surfaces. My office's carpeting and the cement stairwells both proved to be a hazard. I've never been able to slide across carpeting before. I couldn't, safely, wear them to work, so I had to return them. I just wasn't willing to spend this much to only have to pay more to put new soles on them. I wish Frye would take this into consideration when making the shoe.

While I really liked the feel of the leather, the shoe was sloppy on the sides and had no internal support. Not what I expected for the price.

Let me start by saying, I ordered these shoes and was so excited about them. I opened the shipping box to find a pair of cheap, plastic Naturalizers!! Courtney, with customer service, proceeds to tell me she’s happy to do an exchange..an exchange? The order wasn’t correct! She then proceeds to tell me that after we do the “exchange” and if I’m not happy with the Frye ballet flats, they will credit my Zappos account (not my credit card!!) What the heck Zappos! Needless to say I’m just returning the wrong shoes they sent. I hope they refund me for the Frye ballet flats they didn’t send. Last time ordering from Zappos!! If you take your chances with Zappos, I hope you get the correct shoe. These are so lovely!!

These are the worst flats I have ever purchased. The leather of the shoe itself is great, but the soles are garbage. I bought them six months ago, and the soles of each shoe are now worn clear through. I do not expect this from a shoe that costs this much. I do walk outside a fair amount during the day (from the parking lot at work to my office), and I've worn these shoes some on the weekends as well. I suppose these shoes may be fine if you are ONLY wearing them at work around your office, but any real wear, where you are actually walking outside, tears these shoes to bits. I have other Frye shoes that are long-lasting as Frye's are supposed to be, but these do not stand up to the brand's promise of durability. I'm extremely disappointed. I've had Target flats that have lasted longer. Also, be aware that these offer zero support. Yes, they are flats, but there is literally no support. Though they are very comfortable in general, my feet begin to hurt after a while due to the lack of support.

I LOVE these shoes that I have them in at least 5 colors, and have worn this style and 3 pairs I still own for 7 years, and I personally love how they fit my foot. I think it totally depends on your foot, as do most shoes, (so beware of blasting ratings—-It could be the wrong shoe for their foot!). I have them reconditioned and polished professionally many times and the leather holds up fabulously. I have bought them in my normal size and half size for the summertime, because my feet seem to swell a bit in 100 degree summers of Texas. I swear these are by far my favorite shoes. Age 60, high arch, and I take good care of my shoes. I never travel without a pair because they are comfort shoes!

This is a well-made ready wear shoe, that fits well (true to size) out of the box and is still holding up after 2 year of use.

I have worn Frye flats, sandals and boots for years. I can count on them to wear well and last for more than one season. Love this blue suede color! A great addition to my shoe wardrobe. Thanks Zappo's!

I've had these for almost 2 years now. They are my go to flats for work or leisure, they have been THE most comfortable right out of the box flats I've ever worn. I have a high arch, kinda wide front and these have molded wonderfully to my feet.

This is my 3rd pair of these flats. They are my go to office shoe! Professional looking, comfortable (after a short break in period), and so easy. Just slip them on, they match almost everything. The toe coverage is perfect. There's no silly bow or elastic. If you can afford them, I recommend 100%!
I wear them to the office everyday for 12 hour work days and they usually last about a year before I've worn holes through the bottom of my shoe. If I was more conscientious, I could probably get them resoled before this happens. As I wear them without socks, I'll probably stick to buying new ones instead.

I had a pair of these for the last five years, wore them daily, and wore out the soles at least 2 or maybe 3 times. They break in amazing. Actually got compliments on plain black ballet slippers. I'm reordering now cause I've basically worn through the leather on top. These will definitely loosen up a bit as you wear them and the leather will stretch a bit, but not too much. They will basically conform to your feet.
HOWEVER, I have now ordered and returned 6 pairs of these to find one that fit because the size of the shoes is all over the place. 4 separate size 8.5s were anywhere from too small that they hurt to waaaaay too large. I finally got a pair that fit correctly. so i guess don't be afraid to reorder and send back the ones you got if they don't fit right. Or order 3 at once to start!

I typically wear size 8 shoes, although sometimes 8 1/2, depending upon the style. My forefoot is wider than my heel, I have high arches, and I cannot stand for my toes to be squished. The many reviews I read variously instructed me to size up, to size down, to be aware that they fit like a glove, and to watch out for excess stretching. The only consensus was that if you were not careful, you would slip and fall. I ordered 8 1/2s and resolved to tread cautiously. They fit snugly but not painfully. No toe-squishing and no cutting into my heels. I took a chance and wore them to work the next day. After 15 hours of wear with lots of walking- inside, outside, up and down a grassy hill, climbing bleachers - they stretched a little, but only just enough to be really comfortable now. If they should continue to stretch, I will get inserts. So far I have not experienced the reportedly treacherous slippery soles. I am so pleased with these that I just ordered them in another color - also size 8 1/2.

I've been looking for a ballet flat I could actually walk in and I found them! I love these shoes. I was able to wear them out and didn't even need to break them in first, that's how awesome they are. I'm a Frye customer for life now.

These are super comfortable flats. No breaking in needed. However, I do suggest you skuff the bottoms before wearing them for the first time. They are very slippery!

Cute and soft leather. Runs small (on one foot). I would like to re-order a size large but I'm afraid they will be too large. Also, this is not the type of shoe you run around for several hours as they don't have any support. But they will be okay for short errands or a casual occasion where not much walking is involved.

They were too small. This is not good because other reviews said they were pretty true to size.
