I don't know why this shoe doesn't have 5 stars. I'm on my second pair and am glad to see that they have new colors as I plan to order more. I first bought them last year for a trip to Asia. I wanted something that was dressier than sneakers, but still comfortable and good for heavy walking. These shoes fit the bill perfectly. They look better in person than the do in the pic. They're breathable and they clean up well in the washing machine. The have more support than a normal flat and actually have a sole with some tread so you're not at risk of losing your footing on slippery surfaces. My second pair did take a little breaking in (on the heel), though I don't remember going through that with my first pair. Overall a very comfortable pair of shoes that I would not hesitate to recommend to someone going on a trip and needing a versatile shoe or some who (like me) lives in a city where they walk a lot. I still wear mine 6 days out of 7.

Very comfortable. Very soft and flexible. Requires no breaking in. Nice lines. Most ballet flats make my long feet look super big. These make my feet look normal. They seem very well made.

Love these shoes. I have narrow feet and high arches and I walk a lot. These fit well and there has been no break in period as they didn't need to be broken in. No rubbing on the back of my feet or the sides or on my toes. That happens with most new shoes. I plan on ordering these in more colors. I do wear the brown with black though and since it's suede like it doesn't look bad.

So soft and comfortable. Wore them for the 1st time yesterday and love them! The gray is perfect color and works with so much! Coming back to see if available in more colors.

Comfortable shoes 'right out of the box'...nice looking, too. Looks good with ankle pants, skirts, etc. I bought the brown color. I love Zappos!

This is my third pair of Patagonia flats and I wish I could get them in all the colors of the rainbow. I have very sensitive feet and these flats somehow cushion the soles of my feet and never "burn" like other shoes do after all day wear. They also stay on! Rather stylish and breathable too. I highly recommend these flats for anyone who needs a little extra padding and cushion under their feet.

Really like this shoe! It is very light weight with a nice clean, unfussy design (perfect for larger feet like mine that look best with a non-bulky minimalist shoe) and stylistically appropriate for casual out-and-about-town wear as well as more sporty and/or outdoorsy activities. Very, very comfortable although not much support.

These fit really well and are comfortable for a whole day of standing at work. I can walk easily and never feel any pinching in my toes. Adequate support and the breathability is nice, too. I am between 8.5 and 9. I ordered 8.5 in these and they were perfect. No break-in time needed. The only slight negative is that the "suede" part turns out to be a little more casual looking. If they made that a solid leather, I think these would look a little more dressy. Not a huge issue at all, though. These are my first pair of Patagonia. I would love to see other styles that provide the same comfort.

Very cute and comfortable shoe, but the sizing is inconsistent. I tried these in two different colors in the same size. The sable brown fits well, but the black pair is too large. I have very narrow feet, and I wear a 7.5 or 8 in narrows when I can get them. I ordered these in a size 7.5, even though it did not come in narrow width. The brown ones fit great. I am a little worried that they will stretch out, based on others' reviews, but they are so comfortable and attractive that I think I will keep them and plan to add an insole if they stretch.

I have owned five pairs of these shoes, and they have made it possible for me to be comfortable and stylish in the office on my feet all day long -- and to avoid bunion surgery. If anyone out there has the same problem, be aware that the mesh does not squish your big toe joint, there is no break in period, and for a ballet flat, the arch support is excellent. I hand wash my insoles, but they do not get smelly very quickly because of the mesh; I have also hand washed and air dried the first shoes after a trip to Madagascar which required lots of walking on dirt roads. They will sift some sand and dust through the mesh, but that is unavoidable, and easily shakes out. When the insoles break down, I have replaced them with new ones; the shoes outlast the insoles 2:1. I wish Patagonia would sell new insoles for them. You will not be sorry if you get them.

These are a great casual flat. I had to go down a half size, but they were so comfortable I was able to wear them for a full 9 hour work day straight out of the box. Great with jeans or black leggings. I was worried my feet would be cold with the mesh (October in Maine), but they aren't.

These are the best ballet shoes I've ever owned. I've worn them to work, out to bars, into the ocean (to protect from shells on the ground), hiking through sand and grass and through the concrete jungle of NYC. The shoes dry in an instant, weigh no more than a feather, stay snug on your feet, breathe, allow flexibility for bunions, and look cute. I can do 3-4 hours of walking around with very happy feet and feel cute doing it.

I have bunions and have a hard time finding shoes that fit comfortably. These shoes are so comfortable, I have purchased two. I took them to Europe and walked all over in them easily. I was even able to insert extra soles to add some more cushion and they don't look like old lady travel shoes. Love them.

These are the most comfortable flats I've ever owned -- the only pair of shoes I brought on multiple vacations (for full days of city walking). However, there's no arch support, and the bottoms are pretty thin, so if your feet get sore from standing, these may not be the best all-day choice. Also, because of the mesh sides, your feet will get wet in the rain. I wear them like flip-flops, i.e. just let my feet get wet and dry the shoes out afterward. They dry just fine, and I've even put mine in the clothes dryer with some towels on occasion. I've gone through several pairs and love them.

Great shoe. Very comfortable. I was looking for a simple shoe without any support for a "barefoot" like experience and this is it.

Love these shoes! They are so comfortable right out of the box and can be worn with capris, skirts, jeans, etc. Good addition to your shoes!

Extremely comfortable and surprisingly supportive. I bought these because I was looking for a shoe that was not bulky and would look good with skirts. I would buy again.

I initially ordered these in a size 8 and returned them for 8.5. I normally wear an 8.5 to a 9, but tried a smaller size due to he reviews. The 8.5 fits me perfectly. No need to size down if you are a true 8.5. The fabric also gives a little. This is my second pair of Maha Breathe and I love them! They are light and sturdy, and feminine. I wear them bike riding and to work. They are worth it!

This is my second review for these in brown size 7. They fit perfectly. These are the best shoes ever. I live in Charleston, South Carolina and I fully tested these shoes. I went in to the salty marsh, with the shoes on, then I got home and rinsed them. The next morning they were looking brand new. I love them so much that I want to marry them!

This is my second pair of the Maha Breathe. At first, I wanted to send these back, because they completely cut up the backs of my heels. However, I decided to leave them at my office, as "office shoes". Wearing them just a little at a time, they broke in, and became very comfortable. I think my feet also got used to them... Now I can't imagine not having them!

Purchased the Patagonia Maha Breathe in Black & Sable Brown, Size 9.5 Quite possibly the best overall flats I've ever owned! The mesh trim provides great circulation, so it's dryer than most flats, thus avoiding an odor problem. The mesh trim also provides flexibility so that it wraps around your foot evenly on all sides, which is great for my wider feet. The insole is not particularly arch-supporting, but it's very comfortable and way sturdier than it looks. The only thing I don't quite like about the shoe is that the mesh and shoe body don't quite match, and one or the other is always much lighter (shoe body on the black, mesh on the brown).

I got these shoes in prep for a trip to Europe because I'll be doing lots of walking. They are cuter in person than in the picture and have a great sole, great flexibility and the mesh is so fine you can't tell that's what it is unless you look up really closely. They seem like they will be comfortable enough but not on the level of a real tennis-shoe style "walking shoe." Being flats, there is just not that much cushioning in the bottom. However, it's style over substance with these in that sense - we'll see how they work!

Great shoe, use it for walking dog but looks smart enough for a comfy ballet slipper errand running shoe. Not enough for any kind of exercising but great for running about all day.

What a comfortable, beautiful shoe! I just wish it came in a light tan/khaki, which is what I really need. The grey is very pretty, but doesn't go with any of my grey pants - too light. I will keep an eye on this to see if it comes out in any other colors.

I love these shoes! I am very picky about shoes because I want them to be comfortable but not ugly and provide good support. These immediately became my summer go-to flats and required no breaking in!
