European travel shoes and more -
I bought this shoe specifically for my trip to Europe this summer. I wanted something sturdy, comfortable, and fashionable enough for me to walk all day long for 3 weeks straight on those uneven cobblestone surfaces - and I was very well-pleased with this purchase! I did not have a single blister nor any soreness or irritation from rubbing at all (I didn't need any "break-in" period). The "navy" (greenish) color was great because even when covered in dirt/sand, it still looks quite presentable. It's also great as a shoe for everyday regular use - I've received compliments about the look of my shoe (it is a bit wide, so don't expect a tight slender shoe). It fits perfect with thin cotton socks on, but a bit wide without socks such that little bits of sand would enter the shoe when I walked on dirt roads (but in such a case, it was easy for me to quickly slip off/on the shoe to clear the dirt).

Keen Sydney II -
Bought these to take to Alaska where we did a lot of walking. Very comfortable and worked well, even in wet weather. The Midnight Navy color looked like dark teal on the computer and indeed it is dark teal which is a good color for mixing & matching with casual clothing.

Cute shoes -
These cute shoes can be worn as a great alternative to the clunkier Mephisto Mary Janes but the Mephisto’s are better for long walks on pavement in the city. These look a little dressier and I really like the color a lot. They are an unusual dusky turquoise!

Versatile Shoe -
This is a cute, well-made shoe. I have a very high arch & my foot is a bit wide. I found this shoe to fit pretty well, ordering up a 1/2 size, thanks to other reviewers. The arch support is ok - it's no Dansko, but pretty good. I may add a bit under the insole, which comes out to accommodate orthotics or whatever. One heel rubs just a bit & both rub a bit at the top where it comes across the foot if I don't wear with socks, but I think & hope this is due to stiff (nice quality!) leather. All in all a versatile, will-be-comfy cute shoe!

Comfortable but too boxy -
I figured these would be great for traveling & the style is cute. I love the original Keen sandals and also own the Presidio. But the Sydney is very boxy and was too wide for me. I would need to wear heavier weight socks which is not my style. I also wondered what I would do if they started stretching out since I already had it on the tightest hole in the strap, & had already put in my own inserts w/good arch support instead of the Keen insert which is not very substantial. Like most Keens, you need to order 1/2 size up for length.

Comfy and cute -
Very cute and comfy Keen maryjanes...definitely runs a bit short and somewhat narrower then most Keens which fits me better but be forewarned if you are used to the very wide fit of many Keen shoes.
Comfortable out of the box but even more comfortable/better for all day when I swapped out the foam insole Keen provides with a pair of supportive Superfeet.
Cuter in person than online, I love the stitch detailing on the toe as well as the slight cutaways on the side.

Great shoes!
I liked the look of the Keen Calistoga better, but these were much more comfortable. They added a small amount of padding to the strap and at the top of the heel which makes them very comfortable. The arch support was pretty minimal (a problem I have with a lot of Keens), but I just replaced the wimpy insole with one with one with more cushion. The style is pretty cute, and they are extremely well made.

Try Your Regular Size First...
I ordered these (and they arrived so quickly -- Yay Zappos!) but I am sending them back. I wear a 9 med to narrow and, on the advice of some reviewers ordered a 9.5 (40). That was too big for my feet; they'll have to go back. Too bad as these are comfortable, cute shoes, especially in blue.

Comfy -
Great shoes, very comfy and stylish. They do rub on my one little toe, band-aid works until broken in. Would definitely recommend.

Just what I was looking for -
I need something for a trip to Europe that will be comfortable around town on cobblestones, look nice enough to wear to dinner and also work for day hikes in the hills. The other reviews assured me that this was the best shoe for those purposes and so far I am not disappointed. The trip is not for 8 months and I am already using my shoes so I may buy a second pair by the time I need them! Zappos is amazing - Thanks!

Second choice shoes -
I tried to find the Keen Seattle, but they were pretty much sold out everywhere I looked, so the Sydney II was a 2nd choice. The look is unique with the asymmetrical upper, but the little tab of leather on the top of the strap seems out of place. It must be there for comfort. The shoes are very comfortable... from the first step you don't even notice them. As with all Keens I've worn, the US sizing is 1/2 size smaller than I usually wear, so buy 1/2 size up.

I have very wide feet and have found keen to be a wonderful alternative to wide width shoes which are usually not in styles I like. These shoes are very comfortable except they cut into the top of my feet, but not enough to make them unwearable. I have bought five pairs of keen since I discovered them.

Great shoe, one complaint.
The only complaint I have is the top of the shoe where it is cut on an angle over my foot cut into my foot for awhile until they were broken in. It hurt so much that I almost had to put band-aids on my feet to keep the pressure off. It actually made indented red marks on both feet. I had hoped to be able to wear them with or without socks and I just couldn't do it. I bought a 10 (I normally wear a 9) because it runs a little short, but the width was a little sloppy on me. I wore them anyway because I couldn't find anything that I liked more.

Cool look!
I love the look of the Sydney II with the off center cut and slimmer look. Unfortunately, the higher cut across the top of the foot was the exact reason it required some breaking in. But, after two long days of wear, they seem good to go. As a photographer, I needed a hard working shoe that could look professional and even go with a skirt, and these fit the bill. I love 'em now that they're broken in.

A little narrower than the last pair I bought -
I have loved my first pair of Keen Sydney II shoes, wore them out practically, so I ordered another pair, different color, same size, but the new pair is a lot narrower and tighter on my foot. Still very comfortable, but a little bit longer break in time.

Great travel shoe -
Like so many others, I bought this shoe for a European trip. I first tried it on in a retail store and was fitted a whole size smaller than I wear. Like others, the shoe felt a little tight across the front. After reading every review, some saying that it loosened up after a few hours, I took the plunge and ordered for the first time from Zappos. The next morning they were at my doorstep! Wore them around the house and within in a few hours they felt great and looked even better. They worked great for my trip, especially on rainy days. Cleaned up well and I felt they were stylish from Paris to Prague! I did have one day (I think the 3rd) that my arch on my right foot felt sore, but the next day was fine. The one size smaller worked for me, too, although that contradicts other reviews. I would definitely order these again in other colors, but the red rocks.

Good-looking comfort -
This is my second pair of Keen Sydneys. (I guess my first pair was technically a Keen Sydney I.) There are some slight design differences between the two. This one is narrower and has more of a padded sole. They are so comfortable; they don't even need to be broken in. Definitely order a half size larger than you would normally. That was true for the Sydney I, too. The only other warnings I will give is not to walk on anything too hot. (I melted my soles by accidentally stepping on BBQ coals.) And also the elastic gave out on the buckle of my last pair. But that was nothing my shoe repair shop couldn't fix.

If only...
I was very excited to order this shoe. I first ordered a 7.5 which was quite too small. I then ordered an 8, which my other Keens are, but when it arrived it was a bit snug and the edge of the shoe really bit into the top/side of my foot. In desperation I ordered an 8.5, which alas, was too big. I thought the footbed was quite comfy and the shoe is very cute, and was immensely disappointed that I was unable to find a fit. I am now looking for a replacement...

Nice shoe but too small -
I am a big fan of KEEN. However, I felt like it was a half a size too small. I am confused b/c the other Keens I own fit true to size--not this shoe. I would order the next size up next time.

Great looking shoe, but not much arch support -
I very much wanted this shoe to be a good looking walking shoe to wear with skirts, dresses or pants. Anything over a size 9 can resemble gunboats, but this shoe is very flattering in spite of the shoe size. I am wearing the shoe indoors for a test drive, and am finding that there is not enough arch support for me. I think I'll try a pair of Dr. Scholl's gel arch supports in them to see if it makes a difference. I have orthotics, but they don't work in this case. Hope the gel ones do!

Keen Sydney II the sequel -
The Sydney II I bought this year seemed a little bigger than the pair I bought last year. I had to exchange them for a half size smaller but they are still a great shoe for office casual and standing all day. They hold up well and go with a big variety of clothing.

Loved the way these look. Bummer part was they run small in length. Plenty wide. I ordered my size which normally is roomy enough for thick socks but my pointer toe was jammed up against the end of these shoes without socks on. Have to send them back which is too bad cause they are cute.

A nice shoe.
The Sydney II actually has excellent cushioning so the foot to ground impact is negligible. In my case I needed more arch support and this shoe will not accommodate my orthotic. So I had to return.

Hated to send them back...
I'm so sad...these cute shoes really DO run half a size small...and it's hard to order up when you're pushing the envelope, size-wise. There's nothing bigger than an 11! I took a chance and ordered them anyway, since I have 2 other pairs of Keens (Monterey) and they're plenty big...but these really were snug. The arch was not as good as the Monterey, and I needed my orthotics in them, which made them even more snug. They were stiff and unforgiving. I tried wearing them around the house for a couple of days, but sadly, I had to box them up and send them back. As always, a return to Zappos was straight-forward and painless, and I will continue my hunt for the ideal shoe for my large, wide, high-arched foot!
