These sandals rock! Very big fan, these are comfortable, functional, and durable. They are much better alternative to Teva's, which, while comfortable as well, suck around camp. There is only 1 criticism, the rear ankle loop seems a bit flimsy, but I haven't had any trouble with it. Keep your toes happy, get these sandals!

Excellent shoes - I haven't used these for very long but they are comfortable, good-looking and fit well. Because of rubber insole they feel warmer than other sandals.

I ordered this shoe because a friend was wearing them on a recent camping trip. She remarked how comfortable they were and how they worked well in water- steady footing, fast drying, etc. She couldnt say enough positive things about them. When I got back home I got online researched best prices and bought a pair from Zappos. The three best things about my experience is the shoes are everything my friend said they were and Zappos made it so easy to order and they arrived sooner than I expected. I might not shop anywhere else for shoes except Zappos. I expect more of my friends to order them because they like the looks and functionality. I referred them to Zappos for the above reasons.

I have been searching for a replacement for my Tevas. I narrowed it down to these and the Keen Hood River. I ended up getting the Hood River, as I wanted the the additional stability that they provided. However, I would say for most people the Newport is the better choice. It is more comfortable, easier to put on and take off, and feels more balanced in terms of weight. The Hood River is lighter overall, but since the top of the sandel is so light, it makes the sole feel "heavier." If you are mainly looking for a sandal for walking, goofing off and light water use--this is your choice. If you are wondering why I went with the Hood River: I cannot stand it when my heel slips out of a sandal in the water--If you have ever jumped into water over your head and swam around with sandals or had to jump out of a raft in swift water you know what I mean. I'm sure this will happen with the Newport--even with the elastic sinched up all the way. There is no way this can happen with the Hood River with the pull through strapping. Also, since the securing material doesn't stretch, it is much more stable if you're jogging around. This stability does sacrifice a bit of comfort though.

I really really like these sandals. My entire family wears sandals all year long and these are perfect. We also love to play soccer in the park. The covered toe on these sandals is awesome.

Almost perfect--heel strap needs work. My requirements were comfortable, fully ventilated, lace-less shoes. Although this may sound like a sandal, I was also looking for a closed toe, secure fit, and an overall shoe-like appearance. The Newport H2 is a little bulkier and clunkier than I desired, but I'm getting used to that. Improvements over the Nike amphibious shoes I used to wear include a more substantial toe, and one of those anti-microbial insoles--that together with ventilation--cool. The heel strap seems to be this shoe's weakest point. On the first day, the pull loop on one heel strap began to rip free, and on the third, the stitching broke. This is a bummer because the strap is not substantial enough to slip on without fingers, (or a shoe horn). Also, putting the shoe on, the comfortable lining material tends to get folded under the strap. However, a Keen Newport with a substantial heel counter would probably be my ideal all-purpose shoe.

Very comfortable shoes to wear, however the down side to these is that your feet sweat so bad that they stink until you get them worn in! Keep that in mind when ordering.

We have purchased these Keen shoes for our very active nine year old son, which were recommended by his fishing camp. We actually bought a pair for all of our family members. The shoes have been great and Zappos service department has been wonderful. My son is very strong and rough on his shoes. He lost the tip and connector to the shoelace on one of the shoes in one week.

I got these because I wanted something with the airy, comfortable feel of sandals minus the wimpiness - I needed real sandals, ones I could run in without stubbing my toes. Unfortunately, the Newports have about as much airflow as sneakers, so while I can run in them, the price tag really isn't justified since I can get more comfortable sneaks for less. However - when it comes to water - you'll find the Newports are hard to beat. These are ideal for wading in creeks (and as I've read, going rafting etc.) If those are some of your hobbies, definitely consider investing in a pair. Oh - and the kicks are pretty stylish too. They might not turn heads, but hey, they look pretty sweet.

Quality if Keen Newport is suspect - I like my Keen Newport H2, but I will not be "showing them off to my friends". Why? They are practical and great for hiking, but the quality of the finish is not there. Specifically, the soles are "multi color", but that only means it is a base rubber color with a second color painted on. The very first time they got wet, the finish came off in blotchy patterns on the sides of the soles and the toe. I would not buy these shoes if you are looking for something that is durable and stays nice looking.

Disappointed in style and comfort compared to other Keens. Chose to return these. Very happy with Zappos customer svc. It's simply the best.

Nice sandal, but not for hiking! My wife and I got the H2's for a trip to Kauai. We did 2 hikes while we were there. We love the look and fit of them although they tend to make your feet sweat and get sticky. I have a high arc and a wide foot. Very comfortable. We were attracted to the protected toe area and the fact that they could get wet. Unfortunately, the tread on these sandals do not handle wet surfaces well at all. For hiking where you run into wet conditions, they are unreliable and could cause you to lose your footing which is a bad thing on a hike (especially in Kauai). You would think because they are marketed as a "wet" hiking sandal, they would have great traction in those conditions. They do not.

Good not great Keen sandal - From the first day I put on my first pair of Keen shoes, I was hooked: the comfort and functionality has me look to Keen first for footwear. I like the Newport but found a couple of issues: the webbing structure rubs the knuckle of my big toe on both feet. Not a big deal walking around town, but a pretty big deal on a 10 mile+ day hike. They are otherwise pretty comfortable. I have really flat feet and the arch support is OK but not as good as say Birkenstocks. Treads are great, and the tightening system is good and simple to use. Hot in really warm weather and stay soggy for quite a while after getting really wet.

Not for everyone (and made in China) These are comfortable, and would be great for camping/boating. But for everyday wear they are difficult to get in and out of, not as comfortable as flip flops for casual activities, and not as comfortable as shoes for more strenuous activity. I find I don't wear them as often as I thought, since they are much hotter and less comfortable than my flip flops, and are not quite able to replace my shoes for running and sports. I imagine these would be ideal for certain lifestyles, but apparently not mine. They are well built, but I was disappointed to see they are Made in China.

Rough footbed - I love the look of these, but the rubber like foot beds make my feet sweat badly. Air flow was good around the top and side of my foot, but underneath and between the toes I would always sweat. They were comfortable after breaking them in, but that still took some time. I wore them all last summer (adding an insole w/tape) but will only use them as water shoes from here on out.

I bought these for a three day hiking trip. 1st day I went without socks - what a mistake. Sand/debris got caught under my foot, walked through some mud as well - even more disgusting. On top of that it took forever for them to dry out because of the suede-like footbed. Wore socks on the second and third days much more comfortable but still got many blisters (the neoprene is nice and soft but there are junctions with the footbed that rubbed my feet raw. I could imagine these are good for walking around town but not much else (I couldn't tell you for sure since I haven't been able to put them on since - blisters are still healing). At the very least if you are going to try hiking in them - WEAR SOCKS.

My husband and son's Keens. My son loves the shoe, but my husband says that it is a very comfortable shoe but his foot gets extremely hot in it after wearing for a long period of time...

The pull strap ripped out of the back of the left shoe after only one week...not a horrible thing, but definitely inconvenient. Otherwise, these are great shoes.

I had one major problem with these shoes. The straps are placed so that my little toes get caught in the gaps, making them very uncomfortable. The only Keen's I have found comfortable so far were the Escape H2's, and the soles of those fell apart after only a month. I have to say that, despite the glowing reviews they receive here, I am very disappointed in the craftsmanship and design of Keen shoes.

Solid, rugged construction that protects toes well with nice styling. There's something about certain shoes from Keen that makes them very stinky, enough to where I had buyers remorse. At this price I would never buy them again. Other friends that have Keens complained about the stink problem. I wouldn't recommend unless you don't mind throwing them out after 1 to 3 months or wearing them with socks.

If you have a high arch, this shoe is not for you! The kids' model has velcro around the top so its adjustable. My kids love them, but not for me.

Different sized left and right- I purchased a pair (size 9 men’s) of Keen Newport H2s, and found them to be just a bit tight. I typically wear 8.5s or 9s in other shoes. I ordered the size 9.5 H2s and was surprised to find they felt tighter than the 9s (I still had the 9s to make a better comparison). In addition, the right 9.5 shoe was clearly larger than the left 9.5 (when placed sole to sole). I'm going to keep the 9s, but I've certainly had more comfortable sandals in the past.

What about replacement elastic closure cord? I have a pair of Newport H2 sandals, which I LOVE for comfort and looks (they are lilac colored - very cute). However, I also have a brand new puppy who got her teeth on the elastic cord and quickly had it chewed in pieces. I thought that replacing it would be a snap. Not so. I emailed Keen, and they promptly sent me the hard plastic part, but I have yet to find a store that carries Keens that also sells replacement shoelaces. For $80+ for a pair of shoes, you would think they would have thought about the eventuality of a broken shoelace. Once they address this issue, I will be keener on my Keens.

I think most people must be offering feedback after just a week or two of wear, because after just six weeks, the stitching that holds the ankle strap to the rest of the shoe came completely unraveled and no longer held my foot snug. I was a month into a five month trip through SE Asia, so it was impossible to return or exchange them, and needless to say, I was extremely disappointed, especially for the hefty price tag. I am also still trying to understand what Keen's waterproof claim is all about and they definitely don't keep water out (obviously), and they get wet they stay wet for what seems like forever.
