I wanted to buy an American made shoe, and ordered an E width because I knew it would be narrower than normal, but it still didn't fit. Had to exchange for a 4E, which fits, but the sole is not cushioned as advertised, and they hurt my feet. It was a bad investment, they just sit here and I don't wear them. Even with gel inserts, they hurt.

I have been wearing the basic black 600 series crosstrainers for about 15 years now. Do not care for the current style of the front of the shoe. The current style is unflattering for those who wear larger styles.

Nice shoes, but I find them to bug my feet if working an eight hour day on concrete floors. Wish I could have gotten the mesh New Balance here or my local shoe store, but they don't carry my size anymore. I don't know, oh well, overall they're okay shoes just not for all day on concrete.

I have purchased this in both the black and the white-n-blue. I have been wearing this series of shoes for the past 10 years. I find the front of this shoe less attractive than the 621s I had previously. The white ones are not so bad, but the black ones I really don't like. Also, they are good gym shoes and they feel great when you first get them. The tops wear like iron but if you are going to do any serious trekking, the sole support does not last and you end up with a pair of shoes that give you sore feet.

Description says that these shoes have leather uppers. There is no labelling on the shoe to indicate this. We\'ll see.

This is my first disappointment with a New Balance product. I found this shoe to have virtually no arch support. At the end of a walk or run sometimes the balls of my feet are numb and my heels feel like they've taken a pounding.

I have had two pairs of the grey MX623 and they fall apart on me within three months. Do not get the grey ones!

These shoes are definately not what they used to be. I have owned the previous versions, 620, 621 and 622. The 623 has a much harder sole, a lot less arch support and less inside padding. After wearing these shoes to kick around in for the past 6 months, I am looking to replace them for a more comfortable shoe. I am very disappointed with this shoe.

I think Zappo's is great. Best service in the business. However, New Balance is not going in a good direction. This 623 shoe is replacing a 622 model that I loved but this shoe doesn't hold a candle to the old one.

I got these to replace my well worn 622s. They are considerably narrower in the toe box than the 622s. Tried them on once and sent them back.

I have purchased at least 30 pairs of New Balance court shoes and I have had no luck with any of the black styles they have produced. What gives?

This model replaces the 622. It is not as roomy in the toe box. As a result, the smaller toes are squeezed a bit. This was not the case with the 622.

I bought these shoes for my husband and this is what he had to say: This shoe had rock hard souls, gave no support and heat up like a furnace. Do not waste your money on these shoes!

I purchased a pair of these shoes for my son who works in a kitchen. He needed slip rsistant soles on his shoes. We orders these. The first night he wore them he was slipping all over the floor. Went to Sketchers for shoes. They fit perfectly and do not slip and slid around the kitchen. Much safer.

Very inferior product. I would give this sneaker a 0 if I could. These were very uncomfortable when new and took almost two months before they felt good. In the meantime, the inner cushion of the heel collapsed on both sneakers. About half the time I put them on I slip them on like slippers. I know you are not supposed to do that but I've been doing this for over 40 years and yes most of the time I will ruin the heels, after 6 months or more. The heel on the left sneaker collapsed the first time I slipped the sneaker on. The right sneaker took about 20 times to collapse. Now the stitching is separating in the front of the right sneaker. Probably made in China. I've been wearing New Balance almost exclusively for 25 years because they come in widths. I've noticed the NB are becoming more and more uncomfortable as the years go by.

These are nice looking shoes but the seam on side of the shoes made it impossible to walk any distance. I would not purchase another New Balance Product.

The stitching on the MX is very different from the MX622. I had a shoemaker stretch a pressure point but it did not help. After my next visit to my Podiatrist I hope to be able to wear them. I also bought a white pair with the same problem due to a hammer head toe. I hoped they where going to be as comfortable as the MX622 shoe.

None, as I need the wider width offered by New alance

New Balance MX623 Black 9 4E-extra wide. Sorry to say it but it will kill your feet. If you have wide feet like me, EE or better don't waste your money.

I was (and still am) very disappointed with the fit and quality. What was supposed to be leather was more like thin, stiff, glossy plastic. The fit was way too tight in both length and width. The shoes had barely any cushioning and with every step they pitched me forward as if they were uneven from front to back.
I've been wearing New Balance for more than 20 years and these shoes were absolutely terrible. Maybe I got a defective pair, but it's not worth the hassle so I'll be buying a different brand from now on. It used to be that New Balance made the only wide sport shoes. That's no longer the case. I should add that I gave the MX623 four stars for style because I think the white/navy color looks pretty good.

It's next to impossible to find my husband shoes that don't cost a fortune, as he wears a 16 wide. Was excited to find these at such a reasonable price, then saddened when we had to return them. The left shoe seems a size size smaller than the right! They are clearly marked the same, so I don't know what the problem was. For what it's worth, he said the right one felt great! It's a shame. We were going to try to just go up a size but there isn't availability.

Very comfortable shoe, but my right one blew a hole out at the seam in the toe. I'm not really sure what I could have done.

These are too narrow in the toe. Even though I purchased a 15 wide, they make the typical mistake of narrowing the toe box, leaving a couple of inches of shoe that no normal foot can use without squishing toes. Usually New Balance is a good shoe, but these are typical shoe designer pointy-toe mistakes.
