The 623s (and 622s and 621s before them) have been my go-to everyday shoes for years now. They fit my wide feet and are very comfortable. The only issue I have with them is the style; there are a lot of better looking shoes in the lineup.

I like these shoes primarily because they come in the extra wide version which happens to perfectly fit my broad, short hobbit feet. The 10 extra-wide is perfect for my foot. I like the minimalist style, too. I go with solid black so they can pass for semi-formal shoes as well, plus you can never tell if they're dirty.

A comfortable shoe for walking as well as for working out in the weight room and on exercise machines. A good, basic shoe for the price.

Cannot go wrong with the New Balance brand. A reasonable price for a solid shoe, particularly in long and narrow sizes. It's simple style stays fashionable over time and a leather top lasts longer than a mesh fabric.

This is not my first time ordering from Zappos. Each time I have ordered from them I have been very pleased. Normally I order for my children. My oldest has very large feet. But he is a tall person. They have a moderate selection and very accurate descriptions both at a decent price. I will be ordering again.

Since I have quite a few foot issues, shoe buying is not my favorite thing to do. Having said that, these New Balance's are a good all purpose shoe. I use them for work & tennis. I did have to build up the arch with some after market products, but I almost always have to do that, no matter the brand or the style. Overall, these New Balance shoes fit my needs. I will have to give an "atta boy" to Zappos as they decided to send them express delivery at no charge. Service, service, service ... something few companies seem to have anymore.

I use these shoes as an all-round shoe, for pickleball, light trail hiking and walking the collie. After the first week of use, the right insole started to creep towards the back. I had to superglue it back in place, and now it's not giving me any trouble anymore. Other than that, the shoe fits nicely. I have narrow feet, probably an A and these B shoes with laces did the trick. I wouldn't use these for running, however, as they are a bit clunky and your feet would need a little extra support and New Balance has other shoes for running. But for hiking, walking, paint ball, and tennis, I would say I was pretty well pleased with this shoe.

Loved the 621's so went to these when they were discontinued. Unfortunately, New Balance has changed the sizes of their "sizes" as the 623 10.5 EE is about 3/8" narrower in the forefoot than the 621's of the same size.

I had these shoes in the 621 model & loved the fit! I have Fred Flintstone feet, so I need a deeper toe box, & a 4E width. I agree with a lot of other posters, these are not the same! I even measured my 621s size 10 4E against the 623 in the same size, & found them to be between a quarter & half an in narrower, plus the toe box isn't nearly as roomy. They feel nice & supportive & cushy, but even going with a 10.5, the baby piggy is getting smashed! I did find that the brown & especially the gray model have more give than the leather, but I'd prefer them to fit like the 621s so that I could have them wide enough, & not have to have them so big. Please New Balance! Listen to your loyal customers! Make the shoes the way they used to be! I've seen lots of reviews for other New Balance shoe models saying the same thing, that the newer models are narrower, & as I said, I actually measured them, & they are quite a bit narrower.

Shoes are a good fit. If you've had the MX621 or 622's previously, then you know what to expect. Only negatives I've found so far is that I feel there was too much pressure on the toe joint area (I'm sure it'll wear down with use) and it sure is taking them a long time to lose that 'new shoe squeak'. Great otherwise!

These shoes are fine for walking or wearing all day. However, the insole will not stay put when I walk. They slip backwards so my toes are hanging off the front of the insole. I've tried swapping in some other insoles, but the same thing happened. This has never happened to me with any other shoe.

I bought these in the 2E wide width. Sometimes this helps for me. They feel great for a few hours but eventually they become painful across the knuckle of my pinky toe. Still looking for a shoe that won't hurt my feet after a full days time. They are put together well and look great otherwise.

These were a Christmas gift for my husband. He has a hard time finding everyday shoes for his wide feet (in some models, a 3E) with the correct support. Several years back his doctor suggested New Balance as a good shoe for his support needs. He recently wore through 2 pairs of another brand shoe that didn't hold up. He is delighted with these - the fit is right, and they are comfortable.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Zappos experience. The service is incredible! The New Balance is for my son with wide feet and NB is always a good fit. No complaints...and better for the cooler weather. Good value for the money too.

A reasonably good tennis or cross-training shoe, particularly given its modest price tag. Surprisingly, the size 10 narrow that I ordered felt true to size in length; over the years I've found that NB shoes generally run at least 1/2 size short. The sole on the 623 is sturdy, but uppers are fairly flexible, and support is adequate.

Like most New Balance shoes it was comfortable right out the box (no break in needed). It provides good support but the tongue is thin and retracts below the laces. Overall, it's a good shoe even for the 12 hour shifts I work on my feet.

This is my first pair of New Balance shoes. The fit is good, overall, but the toe box is shaped a bit differently than my foot. The inner side of the toe box is a bit straighter than other shoes I have worn. These shoes creak or groan when I walk. It is not a loud squeak and more like a low groan. It is noticeable by others in a quiet office.

If you are wondering whether to buy the MX623 or the MX622, I would recommend the MX623. I've had the MX622, and the upper material is not the same as this shoe. I'm on my feet a lot for work, as well as up and down ladders frequently. The MX622 started to fall apart after awhile. I haven't had the MX623's very long yet, but so far, they seem to be made of a stronger material.

Looking for a comfortable shoe to wear daily during work. Size seemed 1/2" too small. Somewhat comfortable with socks. Outer appearance not as pictured with awkward looking front construction. Price is fair. Am returning these shoes but will continue to find my shoes through Zappos.

This shoe was much shorter than the size 11 I normally wear! I even tried a 1/2 size up and it was too short as well!

I ordered these shoes for work in the delivery business because I have worn New Balance for a while, and they always seem to fit well, and last a long time. After a couple of weeks, so far so good, except that I am disappointed in the amount of arch support these shoes offer. I am flat footed, and need a good arch support, and this is the first pair of N.B. shoes I have had that have virtually none. Good thing for inserts, or they would be unwearable for me. After changing out the insoles, they are comfortable and seem like a good sturdy shoe for all of the walking I that do.

The New Balance MX623 and its predecessor, the MX622 have been my go to shoes for the past couple of years. They are relatively cheap, perfect for everyday wear (I'm a software engineer) and good for walking. This time, however, I tried on a D width 623 in my usual size at a store and found it too tight in the toe area. They did not have 2E so I got it from Zappos. Unfortunately the 2E, while better in the toe box, has proven to be too wide overall, and I have worn them too much to return them. I switched to an 11D Reebok walking shoe, which is perfect.

These are pretty comfortable shoes; however, within a month a rip started in the material above the toe box. Zappos replaced them, but the new pair did the same thing. New Balance replaced the second pair but I paid shipping.

I have not tied them tight for the two months I have them. It feels like the support is missing. My feet hurt in the morning. I'm getting too old I think.
