Great boots! These boots look great and are very comfortable. The sizing is really weird though - I first ordered 9-1/2 D - my standard size - and struggled to get it on my right foot and I could not even get my left foot down into it. I exchanged for 10-EEE's and, although initially snug, they've adjusted to the shape of my feet and are quite comfortable. A nice cross between a Western and a work boot.

Rambler - Love the boots, but they are sized strange. I wear a 14 in tennis shoe but I have almost too much room in a 12 EE in this boot.

Size is not true - Excellent boot! Great look! One thought to remember. These boots are not true to the size. I usually wear an 11 EE. Not the case here. Make sure to order a 1/2 size smaller in this Rambler. If not you'll be disappointed when they arrive. I guess I wear a 10.5 EE.

These boots are a great stylish boot that aren’t "cowboy" boots and aren’t a skinny "ski slope boot." They do run 1 full size small and are fairly narrow, I am on the bubble of needing a narrow or wide but these for sure I need a wide.

Excellent Boots - At first I was concerned that the boots were a little tight (mostly on the top of my left foot), but after wearing them for about 9 hours, they feel great, and love the look. Best boots I have ever purchased.

Great Boot! My husband absolutely loves these boots. The leather is so supple and the look is hip. He finds them true to size and very comfortable.

Size and fit are great. I discovered my right arch is higher than the left which made the initial getting into the difficult. But, after my first day of breaking in, they are molding to my feet well. I’m an urban warrior, so they don’t get rough use. I did wear them all day and they are as comfortable as my tennis shoes.

I bought these for my husband and he's very picky about his shoes. These were a great style for him. They already look worn and rugged. Great buy!

Like other reviewers said, for what ever reason, these boots run very long and narrow. I am normally a steadfast size 10. I also have very narrow feet. Not quite girl narrow, but close. To start with, and because I knew I could return them, I ordered the straight up 10D. I could swim in the length of the boot, yet they were a bit snug at first. I was tripping on things everywhere. I returned them, and got the 9 1/2 D. They were just too tight. I could barely get the left boot on wearing a dress sock and using a shoe horn. Yet once they were on, there was still huge room in the toe. So I finally broke down and bought the 9EE. That was the ticket for me. They are snug to get on, and slip just the slightest bit in the heel. I'm still breaking them in, but I think I got it right this time. Otherwise, the boots look great, they are much lighter in color than the photo. The leather actually looked quite dry on mine. I put a good coating of mink oil on them and they soaked it up like nobodies business. Will add another coat here soon. Thanks Zappos for the great return policy.

Great boot and was exactly the look I wanted. As pretty much everyone else said, order at least a half size smaller than your usual size and they are a bit narrow (being tall and skinny that's not much of an issue for me, though). Bit of a workout to get on the first few times, but they ARE boots so I can deal with that. All in all quite happy with these and my wife loves how they look on me (which is kind of a good thing!).

Very good boot -- once you find the right size. The sizing standards seem wildly different from normal. I normally wear a size 9.5 shoe, but after numerous trade-ins, settled for a 7.5 with this boot. Very comfortable once broken in. These function well as riding boots for a motorcycle.

Nice looking boot, good quality, comfortable. I definitely recommend trying them on several times before purchasing. The sizing is not standard. I had to exchange them for one whole size smaller than usual and I could probably even go 1/2 smaller than that for a snug fit.

I just got my Ramblers yesterday and they are indeed stylish. Very chill boot. I dig 'em hardcore. I've always wanted boots like these. You should certainly give credence to reviews that say these run large. It's true. After perusing reviews, I ordered my pair a half size smaller than I usually wear. I'm sending them back today in exchange for another half size down. I have always worn 11s, and indeed some of my shoes in 11 are almost too small, but I'm getting these in 10. The 10.5. I ordered feel snug in the instep as it should, but it's just a tad too long, and will probably stretch enough to allow for a bit too much movement inside the boot. Though heel slippage is to be expected in new boots, the slippage here in these 10.5 is excessive, and there is plenty of room in the toe. Yes, these boots are super cool, tough, and authentic. They are all they're cracked up to be. However, as unlikely as it sounds, they run a full size large.

Good boots, just the right height. Good boot especially if you have a low arch, very comfortable. I like the square toe.

Casual and comfortable. These boots look and feel well worn when new. I took a 1/2 size smaller than usual in these boots.

Nice boot - Like the boots, they do run about a full size big though. I bought a half size small, but they're still a bit big. Uppers are a little lighter in color than the pictures had indicated, but they still look great.

Good Boot - The Ariat Rambler does fit about 1 shoe size smaller than what I normally wear. They are breaking in nicely. The instep was a bit tight, but they are breaking in.

Nice, but no Birkenstock - It's the most comfortable western boot I've tried. The leather looks great (earth/bomber). Very supple and breaking-in nicely. The cheap inserts are the usual let-down, but overall a nice boot. Still, it would be great if someone would make a stylish boot that fits like a Birk Footprints shoe.

I was a little underwhelmed by this boot. I have worn everything from Durango to Lucchese for over a decade now, so I have picked up a thing or two on what makes a good boot. The fit of this boot is either slightly narrow or not quite a half size too large. Order a half size smaller than you would normally in boots and expect some break in time. It is a strange fit. No complaints about the look/style. The uppers are a little flimsy for my taste being more coat leather than boot leather. Based on this boot, I will not be purchasing another pair of Ariat. Zappos, of course, was stellar.

Love the style, but the there is absolutely no ankle support, which is odd for a boot. It's so flimsy it requires every bit of your foot's muscles/tendons/skeleton to keep it on.

Its been four months since I've had my Ramblers. I basically wear nothing else anymore. Easily the best pair of footwear I have owned in 50 years. I spent days and days out in the bitter cold, walked in water that covered the boots, scuffed them in the dirt and on pavement and they have protected my feet while continuing to look better with age. This is THE CLASSIC American boot. Thank you Ariat.

These are are some of the best fitting and best looking boots I have ever bought. I wear a 10 running shoe (Nike) and these are true to size. They took all of 15 minutes of wearing them around the house to break in. The next day I had them on during a nine hour shift and no discomfort at all. Plenty of support at the heal to keep the foot from rolling over with the insert that came with the boots. They look better in person than in the photos. Well made and a good grade of leather used. These will not be my only pair of Ariat boots, I am impressed..... and I will order from Zappos.com again. Fair price on these boots and speedy delivery. Hat tipping to Ariat and Zappos for a damn fine pair of boots.
I'd also recommend:

Hands down, the most comfortable things that I've ever put around my feet, which hate when things are put around them. If I can go barefoot, I do. When I can wear these, I do. I've worn them out on the town, and have always gotten compliments. I've worn them to work, (as an electrician), and I feel like I'm cheating and have worn slippers to work. I've worn them at home, when I'm sitting on the couch watching a movie, in hopes of breaking them in even more. And it's been almost 10 years since I bought them. I regularly clean, condition and wax them, to keep them soft and comfy. Like wearing a hoody and shorts on a cool night next to a fire in the backyard. Like putting on just a robe and slippers, and enjoying a homemade stout on a winter evening. Like feeling the sun on your skin on a warm day in the mountains, looking over the landscape. I'm not kidding. I don't usually write reviews. I felt the need to write this one because as I looked over my order history, I realized how long ago I ordered these boots, and thought about all that they've seen since then. I can't recommend them enough if you're looking for style, comfort, durability and/or the feeling of wearing slippers to work while looking really cool. These are dressed-down-incognito-rock-star-boots-with-style. I bought a size 11, (I usually wear 11-12), and they felt just a bit too big. The return exchange was so easy. I hated to send them back and wait for the news ones. I wanted to break them in NOW. I couldn't believe how fast the new ones got here. I put them on immediately. I've worn them for hundreds of miles, I'm sure. I've used a salve and wax whenever they've looked like they were getting dry. And they keep. Getting. Better. My feet are drooling just thinking about them. (gross.)
