I just got these boots in the mail today and I will say I was a little bit disappointed in the color. I ordered the color "Sunshine" and it is more orange in real life but other than that good quality. I would recommend a size half a smaller then your usual shoe size. For example I am a 9 and they are big on me so I would order a 8 1/2

I love the look of the boot and they are comfortable, however I noticed the brown around the bottom of the boot is subject to scraping off the brown leather. I have scrape marks on both (I believe it is when I get in or out of my car) but I don't know how to fix it. Scratch marks going everywhere, looks like they need painted. It has been too long to return them but I haven't worn them that often. I have never had a pair of boots do this before. If there is a way to fix them I wish I could find out how, google searches not showing much. That is why I gave them 4 stars vs. 5.

Overall the fit was good. Just that heal area is a little abundant allowing for heal slide. Also the photo did not indicate the upper part of the boot is soft leather. A definite learning curve to putting them on and it can walk its way down and peak out your jeans cuff usually after sitting and standing.

After reviewing the comments regarding the size/fit issues for these boots I ordered a size 9EE expecting the boots to run larger than size. I wear 9 1/2 for regular shoes, 10 for hiking boots and 10 1/2 for running shoes. The size 9EE boots were too small; I could put them on, but they felt too small. I returned and ordered a size 9 1/2EE. The boots that I received were marked 9 1/2EE however they were so small I could not even put them on. They felt like a size 8. I returned these and ordered 2 more pairs: another 9 1/2EE and a 10EE, thinking the 9 1/2EE that I initially received were a one-off bad pair. The second 9 1/2EE that I received fit perfectly. The 10EE pair fit loosely, just like I would've expected a 10EE to fit. The boots that I just bought on 11/24/19 (9 1/2EE and 10EE) fit true to size. The existing comments on the site that the boots run about 1 size to large are not in line with my experience/purchase. Ariat may have addressed the "boots run too big" issue with the manufacturer as the 3 of the pairs that I tried on felt true to size. The first 9 1/2EE pair that I received and I was not able to put on is the exception. Ariat (in case you read these comments) will need to chat about QC with the manufacturer a bit more. Boots seem to be of very high quality and feel very good. Thank you Zappos as well for such great service.

This boot felt pretty tight being that it was a half size smaller. It takes a while to break them in. So if it fits good when you first put them on they will stretch too much. Great looking boot though.

The boot was well made and the finish of the leather was very well done. I had to return the boot because the heel bucket for the left boot hit me where I had and ankle injury and irritated the area when I walked. I will be checking on other Zappos boots in the future. It was not the boot but my ankle that was the reason for returning the boot.

As with other customers/reviewers, the heel was so narrow, my husband couldn't even get the boot on. He LOVES the style and so do I, but he won't wear them if he has to struggle to get them on with a shoe horn.

Great looking boots! The distressed leather truly looks distressed, the height of the boot is perfect (do NOT need over-the-calf boot socks), the top of the foot stitching looks great, and the toe has a slightly different appearance which adds to the appeal. They can swing from dressy to rugged with ease. They do need a lot of breaking in though, and the sizing doesn't seem to be the same from pair to pair.

I ordered these in a 10.5 Wide, which is the same as the other pairs of Ariat that I own. When received, they felt larger that the other pairs in the same size so I ordered 1/2 size smaller. That didn't work so the 10's are going back. I am not sold on the 10.5's yet so they are getting worn in the house on the carpet to see how they feel after wearing them longer.

These are great endurance riding and every day wear shoes. I have horrid feet and been wearing 8.5 M terrain in other colors since '92 but have worn the black for a very long time now. I worn hard orthotics since '82 and nsg school. I have to take out the insert. These are the only shoes I have NEVER walked over the soles. (Clarks were only a month before I walked them over, but those were for office work. ). I love these shoes and I have been bugging Ariat CS ever since they came out with their first wides asking for black. . Wide black have been in the "process" for decades now. The only dressy color and they can't make it wide. I have no idea what their problem is! Lots of reviewers complain at the lack of wide. I do not like distressed leather but they all seem to be that. Every little mark shows. I've had them before. So now I am going to the H2O terrain in Copper in a 9 wide. It seems the darkest. My toes need more room. I pray this solves the squished toe problem. These last about 2 years before the sole tread srarts to go in the ball of the foot and heel. They really can last 3 before there are smooth spots on the soles. Heel starts first. I have not tried other brands because they do not promote a steel shank nor stability.

I bought 2, Earth and Wicker, in 12EE. Wicker is slightly larger but it is manageable. Earth took a little longer to break in. Overall satisfied. I would buy black if I could find it.

I bought a regular size 12 women's ariat a couple years ago. I have a hard time finding my size and wanted a black pair for my job however can't find them in stores. Fat baby II I ordered and they were way to big for a size 12. I wish more stores had them because ordering online is irritating knowing anyone else can walk in a store and be okay. Finally a size 12 came out in a regular fat baby. Color black and now I am waiting for them to come in while having to send the others back. Hopefully we can get more of a selection to the stores so we can pick from them in person. If you order a size in a fat baby number 2 than it'll be too wide and big

I've had these boots for two years and wear them when riding my motorcycle. Typically, they might be worn twice a week from mid-spring thru mid-fall. Accordingly, the leather and soles are in really nice shape. However, those black rubber toe and heel caps......they are turning into a nice gooey black mess on both shoes. If you touch it with your fingers, better get some Lava bar soap or GOJO Waterless Mechanics hand cleaner to get the stuff off. In technical terms, the polymer material is breaking down (i.e., separating) into whatever petrochemicals it was formed from. Yea, it's bad and the product should be avoided.

I have been wearing these boots over a year and they have been through lots mud and rugged terrain but the welt stitching goes through the bottom tread, what is with that. The stitching is has been massacred because of the open stitching on the bottom. Overall good boot but the open stitching is a downside.

i got a pair in November 2016. i found them very food boots. i would wear them every day. about in april, i started noticing holes in the soles. i was thinking it was just wear and tear, so i bought a pair of dr. sholls soles to put in them and ended up foing through those within 15 days, and just kept trying new ones. this November i got a new pair of boots, this time i got the heritage dappers. i have not had any problems yet, but i love both.

These were my first pair of boots I got and they are very comfortable and fit well! Quality boot from a quality company, great boot for the price! Only complaint is that the sole gets smooth and are starting to squeak but that might be just a problem from where I am wearing them.

I love love love these boots. I have wide, yet tiny, feet so it's tough to find quality boots that also fit my minuscule feet, but I sized down about a full size and they are probably the most comfortable boots I've owned. Very pleased.

I bought these two years ago and I wear them more than any other shoe or boot I own. the only problem I have is since they have hard heels and outsoles my feet hurt after about 2 hours standing in them. but as long as you Clean and oil them often they will last ya. I have the 13ee and it's still a tad narrow but feels good

I wore holes in the heritage roper working in them all day, but wanted more of a traditional cowboy boot look this time. The leather is more stiff than the roper, and is taking more time to break in, but do believe they've already started molding to my feet. Also, harder to get on and off than the roper, but of course, that is the cowboy boot way. While slightly less comfortable than the roper, I am quite happy with them overall, and love the look.

My first pair of Terrain H20's made it just over two years, but the small rubber flap of the sole that extends up over the toe came loose on both boots and I glued them back in place with Shoe Goo twice. With the exception of the toe, they have worked very good including working on metal roofs at a 6/12 pitch. I have worn Timberland's for years, but could never get more than one year out of a pair of boots, so two years is great. I wear them six days a week as we are a volunteer construction ministry. I did send an email and some pictures to corporate Ariat asking them to consider stitching that rubber flap onto the toe. Very comfortable right out of the box.

I think theses boots are great and are becoming my favorite to wear. Very true to size and the breaking in doesn't hurt as much as my other boots.
