I just received this little backpack - it's exactly what I was looking for. I have sloping shoulders, so it's impossible to keep a 'shoulder-bag strap' on me without hunching that shoulder up (thereby resulting in a nice headache after more than 1 hour). I've got several 'cross-body' bags, but for travel & wearing to work here in Aspen I wanted a mini-backpack which hangs from both of my shoulders and out of the way; I'm not doing a 6-hour day hike, or climbing a 14,000-foot mountain, so I don't want or need the usual day-pack size. I also love all the colors and patterns available - I had a hard time choosing one, but finally went with the purple 'lacey' design, which has purple-and-white zebra stripes on the inside. I'll probably purchase a lighter-color pattern also, since these little packs are definitely machine washable/dryable (made out of nylon, not cotton quilting). Important nore: The straps on this Dakine pack are long enough for adult women! I looked everywhere on the internet, & nowhere was it mentioned how long the straps are, so here you go: they can be adjusted to a maximum length of 31" as measured from the top of the strap to where it's attached at the bottom, plenty long enough for even this plus-sized gal (I even have 2.5 "extra" inches of strap when I adjust them to the length perfect for me.) I had bought a 'girls' backpack once before, but was disappointed because the strap-length was really designed for girl-size bodies, not women.

I really like this backpack. It has lots of compartments for cell phone, credit cards, passports, etc. It came fast, too.

I love this bag. It's the perfect size; not too big, not too small. it holds everything without getting too heavy. I take mine to work every day. it holds my book, lunch, iPod, a small thermos, etc.

It's smaller than I expected but it is for Women. The fabric and the print are great and it's well made. I would purchase from Dakine again and would recommend to others.

Very cute but very small. I was looking for a small pack to use on a trip instead of a purse, but it was to small for what I needed to put inside.

Nice bag. Good size for just running errands. Fabric is pretty stiff so a little hard to handle.

The Dakine Cosmo is my all-time favorite everyday bag. Durable, practical, and stylish. I get lots of compliments on this bag. The photo above does not show its size accurately -- it is a small bag suitable as a handbag substitute. I am disappointed to see the color/style/pattern selection currently available. I was looking to replace my current Cosmo, but don't see it available any more. :-(

I was looking for a small weekend purse for baseball games and going to the city without lugging around my LV Speedy and this backpack was perfect! I purchased it in the Lattice Floral pattern which is black with a subtle geometric design so it doesn't look too childish on a 30 year old. It is compact and not bulky but fits quite a bit of stuff. There was a review that mentioned an iPad will not fit but I was able to fit my iPad 2 easily along with my make up bag, checkbook wallet, keys, pepper spray, and sunglasses with room to spare. I love this backpack and have been wearing it around the house like a dork. Thanks to Zappos for the quick and speedy shipping and easy return policy, you guys are seriously the best!

This was perfect for taking to the airport for me because I tend to over pack my largest purse and my carry-on to where I am hurting and hauling around bags that are too heavy. So this little pack was my purse and small enough that even when stuffed it is not too heavy and it is evenly distributed on my shoulders. I also took a rolling carry on this time. No pain on my shoulders yahoo! There is a bunch of zippers and organizing slots in this pack, too.

The perfect size little backpack for my wallet, keys, sunglasses, cell phone. Keeps everything lightweight and hands free for bike riding, festival wandering, quick trips to the store. Zipper is durable and super easy to open and close with one hand. This is a cute little backpack and should last me a long time.

Product as pictured. I was advised to replace my shoulder bag with a backpack to avoid strain on my shoulders. This backpack is attractive and useful, it has inner zip pockets to tore small items and keep things organized. You can wipe off the fabric.

Love this size and the fun summer print. I have been using either a black one or now, this fun print one, as my purse every day for a couple of years - after neck surgery and can no longer tolerate a single shoulder strap purse. It is roomy enough to roll up a sweater when going on a hike and a bottle of water.

This bag is perfect. It's small, smaller than what I was expecting but that was good. I got it for our family trip to Disney World (3 kids). I was able to fit everything we needed in it: money, water bottle, some meds, a few snacks, lippies, and a small bottle of sunscreen. It hits at the perfect height on your back so it sits high enough. (TMI: I could keep it on and use the bathroom, but seriously that saves a lot of time and worry in a place like Disney.) Initially I wondered if it was going to be a good purchase, I have more than gotten my money's worth!

I love this backpack! Now that my kids are a bit older (3 and 5), I don't need a diaper bag and I find messenger bags a bit annoying to wear at the zoo or park. So, I was looking for a small backpack, as I generally think most big backpacks look too man-ish on me. This is the perfect purse replacement! It is small, but holds everything I need -- big wallet, wipe case, makeup pouch, nook, sunglasses, keys, hand sanitizer and kleenex! Oh, and gum and two baggies of goldfish crackers at the top of my stuff. I am super happy that I found this! The only thing it doesn't hold are jackets or any clothing changes, but for the zoo I just stick that in the bottom of my stroller. For the park, I don't need to bring them anyway.

Cute sturdy bag. Other reviewers were right, it's pretty small. Fits my ipad, wallet, iphone, sunglasses case, keys and a small makeup bag and that is about it.

I use this small backpack for day trips in the city. I can fit a small collapsible water bottle, a wallet, and the large case for my sunglasses in the larger compartment but it is a tight fit. Other essentials fit well in the smaller compartment. The backpack functioned best when you do not need to be assessing the interior often, bit just to contain your necessities when walking around. It fiat the bill for me. I like the fabric design since it is not solid black!

I love the style and fabric. It's not likely to get dirty easily. The only problem I have is that if you have several tall items like a big wallet and umbrella everything converges in the middle. But then again it would take away from its sleek style. I would definitely recommend this backpack!

Cute little backpack I use for hiking and on vacation. It's a nice size to carry a water bottle, camera, and a few small items. I like the colors and pattern too! The edges of the straps were a little scratchy, but nothing too bad. I kept it and it worked great for me!

This is perfect for light hiking, when I need a bottle of water, some munchies and a camera, and I don't want to drag along my too-big pack.

I love this bag! It's just the right size for me to wear on my motorcycle when I want to go on a quick errand or meet someone. It is cute enough to wear to the mall, it made a good concert backpack too. I might have to get it in another color. :)

This little day pack was the ideal adjunct to my large, stuffed backpack carry-on. It carried the essentials: digital camera, phone, gloves, hat, scarf, small collection of cosmetics and little sustaining food treats. I used it, essentially, like a purse. It was easy on my back; proved to be sturdy and nearly water proof. (I walked around in Ireland with it!) PS the price is most reasonable.

Love this little pack! I just brought it all over Washington DC for long tour days. Tall enough for a big water bottle and essentials. It's really well made and comfortable.

Wow...I've been looking for a bag like this for years. Perfect size, lots of room (even though it's not a big bag at all), great organizer features. Buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Great purchase, quality, serves me well. My husband is in a wheelchair, leaves my hands free to load and unload, plus pushing him around without having a handbag that is falling off my shoulder.

Perfect size with style! I'm really happy with my purchase. The straps are not as comfortable with a heavy load but it is tolerable. The size is perfect and I really like the colors.
