I have had this little gem for over 7 years now and have mountain biked, hiked, motorcycled, been a tourist, a spectator, and just schlepped to n' fro work with it. It's the go to pack because it's solid, durable, and small but packs a lot for its size. What allows this bag to be so perfect is that front zip section. Deceptively small, it has a key hook inside a zipped mesh pocket and lip balm/pencil/pen as well as cell/sunglasses slots, with a 3rd pocket for wallet, papers and tickets and other things you want instant access to. The main pocket double zipper helps when motorcycle riding because they need to both be at the bottom to prevent it opening a high speeds (guess how I know that). Roomy enough for a slim pair of shoes like Sambas, Chuck Taylors, or flip flops plus a tank top, shorts, and your work out log, iPod, and bike locks and saddle once you arrive (in DC anyway). Only now, after years of cramming Whole Foods groceries, work stuff, travel gear, electronics, and dog supplies, has the front portion pulled away from the bag at the seam. I will sew it though, because these colors offered now are not my thing (mine is solid black). Buy it and you'll see how soon it replaces every bag/purse you own.

This is my second backpack, just a different color. I love these because they are not big and bulky. I get a lot of compliments on it, and I can get quite a lot of stuff in them, and it suits me better than a pocket book and it's a lot easier to carry.

This is really cute. I purchased it for crowded events like concerts, festivals and other days where I don't like having a purse take up extra space at my side in that regard this bag is an a+ for everyday usage it gets a bit cluttered with everything ending up in a big mess at the bottom of the big zipper section since there are not really pockets.

Love this bag. I'm on my third Dakine Cosmo bag and they are just the perfect size and shape, and comfortable to wear. The pattern on this one is divine -- subtle colors, pretty design, with a surprising splash of brightness inside. The only thing I miss is that my last bag had little silicone pads on the zipper pulls. But that's a minor quibble. This is far and away the best mini pack out there. I've tried other bags -- they just don't compare.

I love it! I bought six of these backpacks, in different colors, for my grand-kids. They are perfect for back to school.

I really like my new Dakine backpack/purse! I bought my first one 6 years ago and was thrilled to find out that I could order a new one online from Zappos. My backpack/purse arrived by UPS quickly and in good condition. I will buy more products through Zappos in the future!

I bought this backpack to use as my purse while on vacation. It's comfortable. It has a lot of compartments and pretty spaceous for a small backpack. I could fit my water bottle, camera, sunblock and all my necessities for the day out. I definitely would recommend this product.

I adore this backpack. It is small, but that's exactly why I bought it. I have a 6-month-old baby I'm carrying everywhere and purse straps just cause extra hassle. I love having a petite backpack that holds the contents of my purse so that I can have my hands and arms free to do other things. Super adorable and I'm so glad I bought it.

I purchased a Dakine Cosmo mini backpack for my daughter and she loves it. It came very quickly and had no problems in purchasing it. So far so good on construction. Would recommend this website and this product! Same thing in the store was more expensive.

Very cute little backpack that you could take anywhere as a purse or on a daytrip where you didn't want a lot to load you down. There's plenty of room for an extra shirt, sunscreen, water bottle, and various things that you would keep in your purse. I'm planning on taking it with me as my day bag on an upcoming trip.

This has become my everyday bag. It's small enough and flat enough not to be cumbersome but has enough space to fit wallet, checkbook, Kindle, iPod, and keys at least. Definitely recommend it!

I bought this bag to wear while snowboarding. It's the perfect size to hold everything and not fill cumbersome. I also got a lot of compliments on the color.

I was shopping for a small backpack to take along on a Disney trip in a few weeks, and I found this one. I loved it right away as soon as I opened the package! It has a lot of pockets, and fit all my stuff well. I'm sure it will make a great travel companion! I also love the color, ordered the sunset. Very bright and cheery! Zappos also rocks, had this to me overnight!

My daughter used this in Disneyworld. Small size but held everything she needed. It was perfect!

I got this for my daughter and she LOVES it. She gets compliments all the time. She really gets a lot of use out of it, all the little pockets, she stores all her 'stuff' in them. Really good quality too.

The pattern on this bag is pretty. It's very tiny, smaller than other day packs I have owned. The inside pastel pattern is lovely. It holds my color Nook, long wallet, iPod classic, hand sanitizer, a few pens, and a small cell phone. Another reviewer mentioned carrying her shoes in it. Don't buy this expecting to carry your shoes in it, unless you have really small feet. I wear a size 6 and my shoes wont fit. Nor can it fit groceries. But if you want a small pack for maybe cycling, or as a gift for a young girl, then it's a good buy.

I just received my cosmo in tartan. Very cute mini backpack. I love the organization on the front pocket. The main compartment can fit quite a bit for the size of the bag. This is no "book" backpack, but I bought it to use when taking my 5 year old and 2 year old to the zoo. I can fit a couple diapers, soft wipes case, a change of clothes, some snacks/juice boxes, and my person items. I don't like to haul around a heavy diaper bag. This seems to work well. I do wish it had drink pockets on the sides. Also, the bag I got didn't have the nicely matched up print on the front that you see in the stock photo. Overall, I am pleased. Good price.

Nice looking & convenient as a purse. Great for shopping & for my back. Would have liked more pockets in the main "cargo" area.

I've used these as my main 'purse' for 5 years! I can carry a large magazine (rolled lengthwise) or a full-size hardback book, without any discomfort. Only complaint is the smaller zippered pocket (for small items) is within the outside section, leading to bulk at that side (the patterned side you see in photo) - so, needs better organizer pockets. Comfortable, perfect size for everyday. In crowded travel situations, could be vulnerable to pickpockets.

Great backpack but very tiny! Holds not much more than a wallet and the bare essentials. Cute and comfy, love the pink accents.

I loved the bag itself, but it was way to small for me to use as a purse. I am a mother of 2 with a 1 year old niece that I take care of during the day and there is not enough room in this bag for me. I gave it to my 5 year old so there was no loss. I wouldn't recommend this bag if you are looking for a lot of room to store things.

I was disappointed when I received my back pack. I was going in to high school and this was fit for a kindergartner.

Great small bag. Used it for travel. Was big enough for my normal purse stuff plus a water bottle and camera. Lots of pockets to keep things organized. Only drawback was that the shoulder straps wore on my arms a bit (that could be because I wore a tank top every day) though.

This is a great bag. I first discovered this brand when I was on vacation in Vermont. I was looking for something small but that I could carry on my back. I highly recommend this bag! I get compliments all the time.
