I love this boot! It adds comfortable height, with the platform, and gives your toes and front of the foot plenty of room. Also, they make your feet look relatively small, which may be important to you if you have big feet like me. The patent leather makes it dressy, while the style is cool casual. The leather is pretty stiff, and probably will never break in because it’s not something that I wear every day. If you don’t like that feel, then you might have a problem with it. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come in more colors! (There’s a limit to how many black shoes you want to own.) I liked the boot so much, that I ordered it in the white, but am debating whether to return them or not. They’re really pretty, but the stark white doesn’t go with a lot. I’m trying to decide if they look too much like ice skate boots.

I love them! They are very comfortable and stylish. The leather is thick enough that it'll take a while to soften up, but I knew that already after having had other Dr. Martens.

The boots would be absolutely perfect if not for the fact that I do have a high arch, so they did pinch a lot on the upper part of my foot where the laces start. I am so sorry to have to return them, but it was impossible to wear them, and being that they are made of this plastic-like leather, they would not give in with time, so I didn’t want to risk it.

These boots are pretty easy on your feet and quite stylish. I love them. Lacing them up can be a pain, but it's like getting into roller skates, once they are on, the fun begins! Highly recommend these boots.

I love these boots. Love the patent. I am always looking for Docs with this higher heel height. Wish they made more with the heel. The fit is true (Docs tend to be a bit roomy but I always wear my usual size).

Great boot, goes with everything. Comfortable enough to wear for 7 hours on my feet. Docs run a little large, I\'m a size 7 1/2-8 and a size 7 fits perfectly.

Runs narrow across the top. I first ordered this beautiful shoe in my normal size 5. I was disappointed that the shoe ran so tight I could barely get my foot into it with a thin pair of socks. I do not have wide feet but this boot pinched across the bottom lacing and hurt. I do have a high arch. Because I love the look and height of this boot I re-ordered it one size larger. I am happy to say that the size 6 did not pinch my foot and they are comfortable to wear with normal socks. I purchased the patent leather boot and when they arrived the leather was cold and stiff. I warmed them up which gave the leather more flexibility and they fit nicely over a pair of warm fuzzy socks. I have heard that Dr. Martens run large but that was not the case with this boot. I gave the comfort 4 stars because the patent leather is stiff.

Comfortable and look great. I haven't worn Docs in 15 years, but from what I remember they don't need the usual wear-in time. I've worn them shopping and comfortably walk 25 minutes to work in them. I've been stopped on the street by complete strangers asking me where I got them and get tons of compliments. Totally worth it (and really not even that expensive). One funny thing I've noticed; like snow tires, the rubber soles get harder in winter.

I really love this boot. It is so pretty and very comfortable. I also have the shiny black one. I am able to wear 2 different sizes only because I like to wear my shoes a little big. This one I got in a size 7. I can fit it wearing a thin sock. I have many Doc Martens (most of which I got from Zappos). I love them all. I love the service I get from Zappos. So fast. Living in Hawaii, some places charge more than the product to ship, but with Zappos, it's always free shipping! That is so awesome! I love Zappos!

Very comfortable and looks great! They are perfect for when you want something with a heel that is a step up from casual, but at the same time not too dressy. I absolutely love the black patent leather. They are perfect with black jeans where regular black leather just doesn't seem to look right. I wear 7.5 normally and size 6 was perfect for me.

Love these! Got 'em real fast, as usual. Ordered an 11, but they were too big all over, even with thick socks and my on-the-wide-side foot, so got a 10 instead and they're very slightly tight across the instep, which ought to be perfect after a few hours of wear. 3/4 inch platform, 3 inch heel, so when you do the math the heel is only 2 1/4 and therefore more comfortable than I expected as I'm not a heel person. Standard Docs darkish cool-tone red, so you're definitely wearing red shoes, but subdued red shoes. The best!

I got these for work and play and they are fantastic. I have knee problems that high heels exacerbate, but these are just low enough that they don't bother me and still look like respectable heels. They look professional under slacks at work but you can also play up the Victorian/granny look of them if you want. Having heels with a tread is fantastic, I feel like I could run across a parking lot if it was raining and not fall down. But for Docs they do not have soft soles at all. Not bouncy in the slightest, a bit disappointing. I can wear them all day but the ball of my foot will ache a bit by the end. I have them in black patent and part of the sole in the front is gray - it would be better if it was all black. Still, they are great boots.

I haven't yet worn them because it's been so hot this summer, but I've wanted them for a long time. I tried to order through another online shoe company, but they screwed it up (twice!). Zappos was a lot less expensive and the customer service is fantastic!

I wanted to love these shoes, but they didn't quite work for me. For the heel height they are pretty comfortable, but they were too wide for my narrow foot. They would be much improved by having the same grippy sole material on the heel that they have on the main sole. These boots are really gorgeous though.

Fastest delivery ever. Zappos is the best! Also great that I can return it free since the fit was not quite right. My arch is too high, I guess. Shoes were very stable but I had no arch support and the top of my foot was crammed against the tongue of the shoe while I had plenty of room elsewhere. Not my typical fit since these Docs have heels, which I'm not used to. Will have to pass on these. Bummer.

So I got this boot in cherry classic in a size 9 (7 UK). I usually wear a size 9 but have been known to wear a size 8.5. The 9 felt a little big, tried to order the size down to try it out, but it wasn\'t available. Sad face. I may be able to live with the size, but it feels vaguely like clown shoes. As far as the boot itself, the color reminds me of mahogany wood, so it\'s kind of a neat, kind of wear with anything kind of color. The leather is stiff, which is nice, it feels like it has quality. The boot is comfortable, but if you have high arches, there is not so much support there. It\'s a pretty boot and unique looking, I\'m a bit concerned about how the glossy finish will age, but I guess we\'ll see! Overall all, pretty spiffy.

I love Zappos for its excellent customer service! These boots are exactly what I have been looking for. Some of the reviews say that they run big, but not to me. I am a true size 6, and I find the length of these boots to be just right. However, they would fit me better if they are wide width. Maybe I just need some more time to break into. Also, the pair I got, one of the shoe laces is 6 inches shorter than the other. I contacted customer service and was offered a discount on future purchases.

I’ve never ordered shoes online before because I have wide feet and experience ball-of-foot and baby toe pain with most shoes no matter what so I usually insist on trying them on and walking around in them first. I even ordered the first pair a full size too big to compensate for that, but had to exchange them. There is more toe room and they are a little wider than most shoes/boots I try on, which is good. The comfort isn’t all that I hoped for (yet) so I just try to wear them when I’m not going to be doing a lot of walking. The leather is a little hard, but I’m still trying to wear them in. When considering shoe comfort, I try to consider that my feet are difficult in the best shoes, but I think for someone with "normal" feet, these boots would be very comfortable. I purchased both the black patent leather and the red ones and the style is fabulous. Overall, I think these are great boots and get compliments every time I wear them.

Style: I had a similar shoe (in the white) in college that was a knock-off. I wore those things into the ground. I have been looking for a replacement ever since. Only recently did Dr. Martens bring back this comparable style. I love the white. They are the perfect blend of edgy and traditional. The toebox of the shoe is a fair bit swoopier (is that a word?) than the picture makes it look, but that may be because I order a larger size. My only complaint with the style is that I would have preferred a natural colored sole instead of the black, but the black detailing somewhat makes up for that. Comfort/fit: In spite of the (3"?) heel, it feels like I am wearing flats. I think this is because of the trademark bouncing sole and the good arch support. Like most Doc’s, they are stiff leather, and meant to be worn with thick socks. (To help break them in, dampen a pair of thick socks and wear them around your home until the socks dry.) This is the only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5. (I prefer softer leather.) They are roomy enough for the thick socks. I typically wear a ladies size 10, but sometimes a 9.5. I ordered the size 10 to be safe, and with thick socks it is comfortably snug through the arch/heel/ankle, and a little bit roomy in the toebox. If you have high arches, these may not be the shoe for you.

I usually don't wear heels and have never purchased Dr. Martens before, but these boots are great! The heel is really sturdy for walking and they were comfortable right out of the box. I got the red, and it is a neutral color that goes well with most of my clothes. The leather is a little stiff, that is why I gave it only 4 stars for overall, and for comfort. Since I never owned Dr. Martens I don't know the quality of their leather and if this is normal for this type of boot. I am happy with my purchase and may look into buying more of this brand.

Unusual and attractive, but they are awkward to walk in and terribly painful for feet with a high instep. They don't do a good job of propelling the walker forward. Clump, clump!

I love the way this shoe looks, but when I tried it on it did not work out for me. I found the material to be really uncomfortable around the ankle because it was not very pliable.

Received boot in excellent condition and it perfect, until I wore it for like many hours and started to have my heel like hurt and burn. It's a nice boot but being a ballet dancer I should have been able to carry myself well with it. My friends called it a witch boot? And a lady at PF Chengs said I like your witch boot. So that was the last straw. It is curvy like a witch boot. In the future I will stick to punk rock Doc Martens, they are not all witchy.

These have a typical Dr. Marten fit, which is a little large. If you have purchased Dr. Marten's in the past, go with the size you used before. The good news is the boots are very comfortable to walk in for a long time. The bad news is the leather looks a bit cheap. I ordered the red ones. I love the color, but I actually had to look it up to confirm that it is actually leather, and not a cheap imitation. Nevertheless, I will wear them often. Maybe they'll grow on me!
