I've worn Arche shoes for 10 years; 4 pair and still look new and incredibly comfortable. These boots have the worst zipper. I finally got them zipped with a lot of stuggle and had to use pliers to get them unzipped. For the very high price, I am extremely disappointed. Would not recommend to anyone who doesn't have strong fingers! Also, no arche support, very uncomfortable.

I have been a loyal Arche customer since the 1990's and have more than 20 pairs. I have challenging feet and Arche has always met my needs with comfort, style and quality construction. Except for the Baryky boot--I found this boot to be very poor quality and I was disappointed by the indifference of Arche's customer service in addressing the problems. The leather on the pair that I purchased was so soft that it badly scuffed within days of light use. I brought them back to the Arche store; they wouldn't take a return but sent them to Arche for "servicing" -- they polished the boots and told me that I was too hard on them. Why would Arche select a leather for a casual boot that can not handle normal wear-and-tear? The leather continued to deteriorate and then the back zipper on one of the boots failed--it wouldn't stay up. I contacted Arche again and was told that they wouldn't repair the zipper but would send me a new zipper and I could have a cobbler repair. Arche never sent the zipper.
Perhaps I got a "lemon" pair but I would never buy another pair of these based on the problems I experienced and Arche's lackluster customer service. At this price point they need to do better. I use my $395 Baryky boots to work in the garden.
