I have had these boots for a few weeks now and love them so far! They are comfy, cute and useful! The short version of these Hunter boots are perfect for people with wide, athletic calves that don't fit in the tall version. I would definitely recommend these boots for the rainy and winter months!

I'm very happy with my Hunter Boot (short) purchase. I usually wear an 81/2 and I got a size 7. They feel snug but not too tight, I feel the 8 would have been to big and clunky. I can wear a liner in them just fine as well. I bought them for a gift as well and she loves them!

I purchased the Hunter Original Gloss Short in black; size 7. I normally wear a 7.5 Medium, but since these run slightly large to allow for thick socks in cold weather, I chose to size down. They are comfortable and waterproof. The black is glossy and beautiful. I’m 5’1 with slim legs, and I prefer the short boots to the tall because I like the look of the short on me versus the tall. I wear them with denim leggings and the black is universal and doesn’t look out of place with dress pants on rainy days when I have to go to work.

Great boots! They definitely run big - I wear mine with comfy socks so it takes up some of the room and keeps my feet warm. Had a little trouble keeping the buckles on the side fastened.

FINALLY found the perfect Hunter. Let me start by saying I am a 6'tall slender build and by no means have "large" calves (I'm an avid runner/athletic lifestyle). Based on reviews I first ordered the Hunter Tall women's size 9 as I generally wear between a 9 and 9.5. The calf was ridiculously small and they went back immediately. I read additional reviews and exchanged for the Hunter Hunter men's size 8... The calf was ever so slightly larger but not enough to fit welly socks or jeans inside. Sigh, the second pair went back. Determined, I decided to give the Hunter Original Short in Black Gloss a try and I am thrilled! I ordered a 9 and they fit perfect... Considering my height I was worried they would be too short and look silly, but they are great and perfect in the calf area. The original pair I ordered was black matte and I am so much happier with the gloss, adds a feminine touch and so cute. Great with or without welly socks and will be able to wear them with a variety outfits and throw them on with sweats or dress them up with leggings or cute socks. The shorter boot is easier to slip on and off... Have already received compliments when wearing them out. They are great in winter slush and they are warm and comfy with black cable knit welly sock. Highly recommend. My only complaint would be that without a sock or leggings they do rub on the back of my leg, but considering the cold weather not a huge concern now.

I love these boots! They feel great and look great and not big, chunky and clunky which I didn't want and how I felt in other rain boots. After reading other reviews that they run small I ordered a size 7 I usually wear size 8 and they feel great and I can comfortably wear socks with them. I would recommend ordering size down. I'm also short 5" and the short boot looks great. I've tried the tall and it went over my knee. I looked ridiculous. I would highly recommend these!

I returned Kamik Heidi style and got these instead. There is a huge difference in comfort between the 2 brands/styles. I have short legs, so I am not comfortable tall boots. I love the Short Gloss! Perfect boot height for protection from wet weather, very comfortable at the top/opening, and I have about an inch of movement against my calf which keeps the boots comfortable and allows ample room for tucking in jeans or other pants. I usually wear a 5½M in shoes. I ordered these boots in a 5 and a 6. I returned the 6 because they were too spacious in the foot area - like I would have to wear very thick socks with them or possibly even two pairs of socks to get them to feel like the size 6 was not sloshing around on my foot. The 5 has ample room for me in my standard socks that I would wear with boots, I have a good amount of room in the toe box, and the instep (I have a high arch and high instep). So in my experience, I needed to size down in these boots, but I am glad that I ordered two sizes initially so I could compare them at the same time. First off I ordered the original short good in bright plum from Zappos, and did not realize untill Christmas morning that they sent me two different sizes! One size 7, one size 8! Thankfully, Zappos got a few more in stock so we were able to return them and purchase the correct sizes. If it were any other company in sure it would had been awful!

So cute, shorter than my other Hunter RB I love the shine. It was exactly what I was hoping for! These run a bit big but nothing a thick sock won't help.

I am very pleased with my purchase. I was nervous about ordering a size 6 since I'm typically a size 7, but they fit great. I even ordered the ivory fleece boot socks to go with and the boots don't feel snug at all with this thicker type of sock. I even got a compliment from a neighbor while I was walking my dogs in my boots in some mucky weather.

Very cute boots! Color is great. I prefer the shorter Hunter Boots for better comfort and ease in taking off and putting on.

I have always wanted a pair of Hunter boots. I really wanted to buy the tall boot, but my calves are just wide enough for it to be uncomfortable. I ordered these instead and I am very pleased with my purchase. It's been raining a lot here and slip them on to do things out in the yard. They're a little big without socks. I will order some boot socks as it is getting colder, but since I don't wear them for very long without socks I have not experienced any negative effects. They're beautiful, solid boots. They are comfortable. I wear a women's 10 and it is always spot on except for my New Balance sneakers. I get NB shoes in a 10.5. These feel about a half size larger on my feet, but I am not going to say that necessarily will be the case for someone else. There appears to be some wiggle room in EU sizing and I think that's were the discrepancy is with these boots for me.

I purchased these as a gift in black for a friend going on a cross country tour as a primary walking boot; she had never worn Hunters before and could not believe how comfortable and cute they were! Size 6 was true to size and the shorter shaft was found to be easier to walk in than a higher boot. Very stylish boot, not at all displeased; great purchase.

Love these boots! They are true to their reputation for being top quality, durable, stylish, and useful for rainy days. I have a pair of tall red Hunter rain boots that I also love to wear but I enjoy the convenience of wearing these...plus they feel better around your calf area and when you sit down they don't bend awkwardly. I was torn between choosing between a bright color or the black but I find that these black boots go with anything you are wearing. Definitely a great investment for your feet!

I LOVE THESE BOOTS. I've always been hesitat to buy a pair of Hunters because I have wide calves, but seeing as these were short and on sale, I had to give them a try. I'm so glad I did! They fit like a dream---aside from being a bit too close around my leg for my liking---and have excellent traction. I needed a great pair of boots for muddy paddocks and rainy turnouts, and they're marvelous. I didn't expect them to be as tall as they are, coming more midcalf than short, but I still love them. No stinky rubber smell, plenty of room for my toes to wiggle, and a beautiful green color. I did order an 8 when I usually wear an 8 1/2 or 9 since it was suggested to order down a size. They fit wonderfully, so definitely use the size guide and suggestions.

I originally bought the original Hunter boots but they were too tall for me. I'm so happy that I exchanged them for these. I usually wear a 7 or 7 1/2 and the 7's fit perfectly. I wore them on a 2.5 mile walk right out of the box and my feet stayed dry. I love these boots.

Super cute! Easy to slide on even with jeans on. High quality and worth the money. Very comfortable and the rubber is very soft and malleable. I have big, athletic calves so it was a great choice to get the short boot. I just wish it would rain more now!

I love the style and height. The top might be irritating to the bare leg so would probably work best over pants or with socks. I am returning because I did not like the color (pink) but will exchange for a different one.

I love everything about these boots, they look great, and best of all they are 100% water proof. And if you have a wider calf, like me, these fit great unlike most of the tall rain boots out there. I generally wear a 5.5-7, depending on the kind of shoe. I went with a 6 in these and they fit perfectly. I got Clementine, and the color is beautiful.

I wear a 6, but bought a 7. The 6 was too small once I put the sock in it. The 7 fit perfectly with the fleece sock.

Bought the shorts for my wife because she is 5'3" and I thought they looked better and more functional. At first she was perplexed because they weren't the original style. She is now in love with them 'as much as her Uggs'. She also says they are 100% waterproof and as comfortable as a rain boot could be.

Love the boot. I cant believe how comfortable they are, I wear them all day. I have thinner calves so I was worried they might be too wide, but fit great. I usually wear 7 in shoes and ordered 7 in these-they fit perfect. Also ordered charcoal socks, but they did not match very well.

Loved these boots but even with a short they were hard to get on and too tight to tuck in my skinny jeans. I suppose I have what is considered a big calf but maybe I'm also just short enough that they came up too far to be comfortable. Have to send them back… disappointed. I'm still giving them a 5 for quality.

Excellent boot! They run a little big but that's OK because I'm most likely going to be wearing socks with them. I got the bright red color and they are absolutely eye catching! Will be wearing these relentlessly throughout springtime.
