Great looking and very comfortable and works well with an orthotic (not much arch support but very comfortable otherwise - I use orthotics in all my shoes and sneakers). The black suede fit slightly smaller than the brown suede (very strange) so I needed half a size larger in the black than the brown.

I got these for a wedding - they were perfect. Comfortable, well made, soft, supple and stylish.

These shoes are great. If you know anything about Varvatos shoes, they are made of excellent leathers and are well-constructed. A bit pricey, but well worth the investment. These Chukka\'s run about a half-size larger as all John Varvatos shoes do. They look great with dark jeans and chinos. A must have!

This is an excellent shoe, fits well, and comfortable. I received compliments each time I wore them out. They are very versatile and look good with jeans as well as chinos.

Very comfortable shoe. Soft, supple leather. Narrow at the top, which provides support and wider inside providing comfort. Sole is soft and flat, so you feel each step. Takes a bit of getting used to if you wear sneakers or dress shoes most of the time. Excellent shoe though!

I was looking for a nice boot to wear both to work and out when I came across these chukkas. I've always liked ankle boots and these have a lot more casual of a style than most of the others that I've seen. Initially, I ordered a half size smaller because I read the reviews and ended up returning them for the actual size I wear. whoever is ordering a half size to a full size smaller in this boot does not know their actual shoe size or is accustomed to wearing ill-fitting footwear. Also, you do not need a shoe horn to get these boots on; don't be fooled by the other commenter. instead, try loosening the laces (novel idea) before slipping them on your fat feet. And to the previous commenter who did in-depth research on the chukka, complained about these boots' lack of comfort on five-mile treks, and ended up ranting about hipsters... 1.) you have too much time on your hands if you're learning that much about boots you want to buy; 2.) anyone walking five miles in anything other than a walking/running shoe is in for some discomfort (truth); and 3.) just because the boot has hipster in the title doesn't mean you have to be one to wear them. If you're looking for a good boot to dress up or down, this is a solid choice.

Doesn't have much arch support, so I added 2 insoles with arch support and feels better, although it puts your ankle and foot higher and rubs against some stitching which isn't comfortable. Took some time to get used to...but I'm enjoying it now! Looks good. The bottom design rubs off quick though. I'd still recommend the shoe.

I have found my new favorite chukka. Initially the size I ordered felt too snug in the instep, but after one wearing they molded to my feet and are now totally comfortable. The price was right so I think I might order some other colors. Only concern is cleaning them: the light khaki suede on the upper picks up a lot of dark marks from just regular walking. Once I find a good safe product or technique to clean these, I'll be even more pleased with the purchase.

Shoe runs larger then normal so order 1 to 1/2 size smaller. The shoe's tread needs to be broken in as it can be slick when new and you'll need a shoe horn to get it on otherwise you'll need to loosen the laces completely, but regardless a great looking and comfortable chukka boot.

The shoes look great, but are very difficult to put on (of course they break in so it gets easier). There is also very little arch support. Excellent fit; true to size.

I have strangely shaped feet, and they are slightly different sizes (one is a true 11, the other slightly larger) so I ordered these stylish suede chukkas in hopes they would stretch a bit and conform to my feet. I have worn them for three days, and can say that while they look good, they have not yet begun to stretch in the way I had hoped. In fact I developed a blister on one heel. They do go well with dark jeans and khakis, and I'm going to give them a few more tries, hoping they will break in a little more. They are almost twice as expensive as most other chukkas and I'd hate to just stop wearing them.

Great shoes, BUT Be aware that this is a chukka and it will loosen up a bit after some wear ... As long as you\'re OK with comfy\/slightly loose fit, you\'ll like this shoe. \r\n\r\nIt looks even better after some wear.

I really like how this shoe looks and feels. If the durability and quality was improved, I'd probably never wear another shoe. However, I've had two issues that have made me wonder if I paid so much money for the John Varvatos name and not for the quality of craftsmanship and materials. First, the sole separated from the toe of the shoe. While this was an easy repair, it was very annoying when the sole flapped under my foot. Second, the leather is very sensitive, a minor scrape tore off a small piece of the top layer and exposed the raw (untreated) leather underneath, which is a lighter color and definitely noticeable. Regardless, these are my favorite shoes.

Very nice and soft leather, and overall comfort is excellent. One problem (and these are new shoes, I have them only for two weeks) is that glue seems to be of a very low quality, and during even the lightest rain shoes take on water like crazy. And after only couple of weeks of wear the leather all around the shoe started to separate from the sole, thus further aggravating the problem. I already need to take it to shoe repair having worn it less than a few weeks. Not something I expect from expensive shoes.

Made in Italy. Maybe that explains why my Irish feet had such a problem getting into these! No kidding, it was a struggle. But once I managed to get a foot in, they didn't feel half-bad. I love the looks, but the 10 minutes it took to get them on was a little excessive. I returned them and am waiting to get the Varvatos Ago Chelsea boots...a half-size larger than the 9's I bought last time!

This is a really smart looking boot and comfortable to wear. But they get wet on the inside too easily.

Service was fast and as expected. The shoe looks great but with in three weeks the sole started coming off and I will be returning these for a new pair....hopefully.

I would not buy these again. My shoes, unlike the ones in the picture, do not lift off the ground at the toes, which is the essential design element in the shoe. I originally thought this was because they were new, and as I wore them they would start to break in and curl up. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. Also, they are designed in such a way that you cannot take them off or put them on without completely unlacing them.

While this shoe may look good it is not very well made. First, it has nearly no cushioning. The inside sole was rock hard. It will hurt! Second it is very thin. Even with a warm sock my foot got very cold after a little time outside. The poor construction shows through in these two instances.

This was a great shoe while it lasted. However, after 4 months, the sole separated from the upper, it is simply glued on. I got it resoled thinking that it was worth the cost, since the shoe was pretty expensive. However, after another 3 months, holes gradually opened in the toe box in the inside of the upper - that is when I threw them away. For the price, I think the quality is pretty poor. However, while they lasted they were quite comfortable.

These shoes are true to size if you have average foot width. They're great looking, well-made, and hip. The one thing I would critique is its lack of cushioning. This is not a "stand all day at work in me" kind of shoe. This is at most a "stand in line comfortably at the DMV waiting for a new vehicle registration on a busy day" kind of shoe. Still, I am happy with my purchase.
