These are great and very comfortable offering good support. There is a special quality that wicks away moisture so your feet don't sweat as in other flats. Top quality shoes!

I love these shoes! They're so pretty and comfortable at the same time. My toes never feel claustrophobic, unless I've been wearing these babies all day, and Born designs them in so many fun colors. A must-have item for any stylish girl or woman.

Classy, well made flat. (I don't care for all of the foo-foo (bows buckles, balls of fluff zippers etc.) on the toes of most other shoes right now.) Comfortable and look great with straight jeans, ankle pants or capris.

Great color, but it just didn't fit right. It felt like I would walk out of them, and the toe area was a bit too snug.

Beautiful shoe, very comfortable. Runs big (I usually wear a 10 and I wear a 9 in this shoe).

Very soft & comfortable shoe, but ran 1/2 size large. Also a little plain looking.

Born shoes are known for being comfortable and this shoe is no exception to the given rule. The shoe comes in a nice matte finish and is one of the most comfortable ballet shoe that I have ever worn. I have exceptionally flat feet that are hard to buy shoes for. I wish this shoe came in more trendy colors, I would buy them all.

Just a comment. Nero Veg does not mean vegan. Nero means black, and Veg refers to the leather being vegetable tanned. They use tree bark and other vegetable matter to dye the leather a dark color. It's still leather, and therefore, not vegan.

On the surface these were what I wanted. A basic black flat with enough coushion to make it through a short shift working retail. I didn't get to test the duration of comfort because the 8.5 rubbed my big toe. The 9 is out of stock so I am going to order the Stowaway II. Will report on that when it comes in. So glad Zappos is generous with the free shipping!

Love these shoes- a great pair of packable flats. I travel a lot for work, and these are great for throwing in an overnight bag, wearing through the airport, or whatever. A little plain.

I ordered the gold metallic Born Stowaway and the color was absolutely perfect. A great bronze/copper that would be great in the summertime or add a little dash to fall/spring khakis. Shoes felt true to size and although not as comfortable as other Born shoes or Keens, you could definitely walk in them for 3 hours straight without encountering any problems. I returned them, however, given the bottom sole. If you take a look at the pictures, the bottom sole only covers the heel area and footbed and does not run across the entire bottom. Because the stitching is exposed, I knew this would be a problem since I walk on gravel, brick and cobblestone where a more durable sole is required. I know they will easily fall apart and thus weren't worth the $100 price tag. But, I'll still keep my eye on them. If the price drops, I'll re-purchase them understanding that they won't last as long as most shoes.

These definitely run large in my opinion. My heel pops out at the back. Foot bed feels comfortable. I might try them one size down and see if that helps. Not the most stylish thing, but I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of these in the right size.

Runs small, felt very tight, will try the next 1/2 size up, looks well made, note that is has a very rounded toe.

This ran at least a 1/2 size too small. The toe box was very crunched. Based on the fit, I'm not even sure if going up a size would help. The toe box was just not comfortable. Very cute looking. Just a bad fit.

The style of this shoe is perfect, a plain, simple, well made, go with everything flat. However, they seem to run a little tight. I ordered a 7.5 and have tried them on a few times, but have not worn them outside yet. I am debating on keeping them due to the fit, I dont know if they will stretch enough to be comfortable in the width and I do not have a wide foot.

The brown linen color looks like you had cream color shoes, walked through a muddy puddle, and then let them dry.

I just got these and as always, Zappos delivery was super fast, however, I'm not 100% sold on these shoes yet. They're comfortable but not as comfortable as other Born shoes I've tried on. I love the simplicity of this shoe and the fact they will go with everything but they don't fit as they should. They're a bit wide and a bit short. I'm a true 8.5 but I could never wear a 9 as they would be much too wide. I'm keeping them because I'm tired of trying to find the perfect flat shoe but if you like the strap on the Born 'Kelsey' flat - I recommend those shoes as they are the most comfortable black flat I have ever tried on.

I adored these shoes, but a half a year after I bought them, I am disappointed with the quality. I wore them over the summer and into the fall and soon after that, the heels split open where the stitching is. I didn't wear them in bad weather and I didn't even walk too much in them. I'm really bummed that they aren't put together better. I loved Born shoes and these are adorable, but I am quite disappointed that they didn't measure up to their cost.

Poor manufacturing quality -- squeaky shoes! I am so disappointed with these shoes. I bought them just a couple days ago for a vacation I started today. The right shoe squeaks with every step. There is some kind of internal friction which squeaks whenever any pressure is put on the heel. I can even make it squeak simply by holding the shoe and pushing inward on the sole. The left shoe does not squeak at all, which actually makes it worse. The squeak is so loud that I will never wear them to work. Unfortunately I wore these off carpet so I am stuck with them. The shoe seemed to have solid enough construction at first glance. The rounded shape looked cute. In most shoes, I wear a 7, 7½, or 8 depending on how narrow the toe-bed is. The 7 felt too tight to me, the 7½ was just right. Combing through the reviews, I found several others who got stuck with a squeaky lemon in this shoe. My advice is, try it on in a house with wall to wall carpet, and find a quiet time to walk around and check for squeaks. I tried them on a small plush rug in a noisy room, which apparently squelched the squeak, to my regret. It is a shame, squeaks should not happen with any new shoe. I was just getting interested in Born shoes, and this has really put me off the Born brand.

I originally ordered a 6½ (my normal size). It ended up pinching my toes and the tops of my feet so badly that I could hardly walk. Zappos had amazing service, as always, and allowed me to return them. I ordered the only bigger size available (7), hoping they would fit. They feel good! This is definitely the most cushioned flat that I have ever owned. I had heard many good thing about Born shoes from my fellow teaching colleagues but had never tried them for myself. I wish that I had invested in quality shoes like these sooner. I do like the look of these shoes; they are simple and they go with anything! I honestly feel like I can wear them with dress pants, jeans, or dresses, and they will still look cute. But sometimes when I look at my feet in them, I feel that my toes look extra-wide and stumpy because of the extremely rounded front. Not a deal-breaker in my book, as I know pointy-toed shoes can be much more uncomfortable, but I wanted to write it down in case anyone was worried about that aspect. It should also be noted that my first pair of shoes came with a super-cute leopard print cosmetic bag that I was surprised yet happy to receive. I sent it back with the first pair of shoes, thinking they were a set. When I received my replacement pair of shoes from Zappos (in less than two business days, might I add!), it did not contain any type of cosmetic bag. Obviously, I did not buy the shoes for the bag, but it was a nice extra. I thought I would mention this in case anyone was honestly looking forward to the bag and using it as a justification for paying such a high price for shoes. Apparently, the bag does not come with all of these Born Stowaway shoes; it is hit or miss.

The reviews are very mixed on whether this shoe runs big or small so maybe they are manufactured inconsistently. I'm a true 7 1/2. It wasn't available so I tried the 7. The 7 was way too short. Was going to try the 8 but ended up going with the Frye Carson before I got to exchanging them. Will try another size in the future.
