I chose the Keen Finlays over the similar Austins because I wanted a single-color (shitake) brown. I found, like my other Keens that I had to bump up a half size for the correct fit (very comfortable out of the box, but see later). Side by side, the Finlays and Austins look like the same shoes (sole, insole, inside lining) as the Austins with slight differences in style and colors (nearly all Austins were two-tone), Austin has six pairs of eyelets, Finlay five. I walked a couple of hours in the Finlays at the mall and found they were not as cushioned as I had hoped, nor nearly as soft a ride as my Keen Newport Trails or Targhee IIs. Not sure the Finlays will see me through a whole day on concrete floors without adding cushioned inserts. Can't say how the Austins would compare in foot comfort on hard surfaces. Also noticed Finlays are advertised as water resistant whereas Austin are said to be waterproof.

Nice looking shoe. Can't say too much about them as I ended up returning them. I ordered a size 15 for my husband. The size was great, the width was great HOWEVER, the arch insert was too small for the shoe. I removed the insert and it's stamped for a size 13-14. Well, that leaves it too short for the size 15. I reordered, hoping it was a fluke and nope, the same thing. So, no shoes for my husband, at least this shoe. We will try again with something else. Zappos was great and helpful!

No doubt, these are very comfortable, ergonomic shoes. But they appear to be quite poorly constructed. After the first week of wearing, some type of white glue has been oozing out of the space where the big rubber toe meets the leather uppers. The stitching is also coming out in at least three places. I would expect more for a shoe of this price range. My other complaint is that the materials show dirt very easily, especially the edges of the big rubberized plastic sole.

I've been very happy with the Keens I've had over the years. I never expected to be writing this review and telling you all that these are the loudest shoes I've ever owned. I bought them before taking a business trip to Dublin and when they came, I walked around the house on wood floors and carpet and heard a very small squeak in one of the shoes. I passed it off as nothing and put them aside. They were the only shoes that I had on my trip and both shoes got louder and louder every day. It seems to be a design issue with the treed that allows the rubber grooves to rub together while walking. I was so embarrassed walking around the office area that I just took off my shoes most of the time so I would be heard. I was in Dublin for a week and they squeak in the rain as well. I'm returning them this week and I'll give another pair of Keens a try but I'll make sure that the tread is a different design before I buy.

Love these shoes. I'm a bartender, on my feet all day. These were wide in the toe but snug & comfortable out of the box. Maybe a touch big, but a cheap gel insert (which I like anyway) made these perfect!

Keen Finlay are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn. Keen is the only shoe company that has actually examined the foot and then designed a shoe to fit it properly. These shoes are the best prescription for plantar fasciitis.

I usually wear extra wide shoes, so was nervous, but I have had Keens in the past, and they fit well before. Keen has never made wides, much less double wides, but I went with them before since they fit in person. These fit pretty well, so I'm tempted to say they run a little wide. Really good looking, comfortable shoes, I'm very happy with these!

First off I would like to thank Zappos for the fast service. I ordered the shoe at 6pm and the shoes were at my house by the time I got home the following day. Thanks. Second, this is my third pair of these shoes, the last pair last me about 5 years. The shoes are a little wide, but that's great because I have wide feet. I love these shoes and will buy another pair after these are worn out. Great shoes and great service!

I love these shoes. Keen's never fail to satisfy, and these were certainly no exception. These are all black, with a gray stitch. They are very low key. And with the typical "water resistant up to the laces" feature found in many Keen offerings, they're great for wearing to work on rainy or snowy days. I generally try to avoid the evils of arch support, and in fact the only shoes I buy now with any arch are keens. The is an arch support, but it's not enough to ruin your feet - if you know what I mean. That said, they are extremely comfortable and come with the all too common "they are so comfortable I forgot to take off my shoes" effect on the end of your day.

I bought these shoes for a trip to Spain where I knew I would be walking a lot. I have a very high arch and wide feet. These shoes fit me perfectly. They are comfortable and provide good support without being heavy. I think they look good with shorts, jeans and even khakis. I'm picky about my shoes and these are now my go-to weekend or walking shoes. I've had them about a year and a half and they are still in great shape.

Keen is the perfect shoe for my husband and myself, both having wide feet. We are in our sixties, and still like a little style. He has worn them to work in for as long as they have been around, and they have held up very well, and he is hard on his shoes. And we love the personal touch Zappos adds to their customers, it makes me smile! They are fast & fun!

I bought these since I was having a a lot of foot pain from athletic shoes. The Finlay has worked out well - great support and plenty of toe room so they no longer are cramped. Also got several compliments on them already.

Good support but not overly aggressive arch. Nice compromise between cushion and firm control. Well made. Feels like good value for price. One of my favorite casual shoes.

I work standing on concrete floors all day. My body was aching all over until I tried these shoes. Within a week my aches were gone! I've been a KEEN customer ever since. The wide toe box and engineered inserts really are amazing. Thanks KEEN. And Thanks Zappos - you are the best: great selection, prices, and customer service (can't beat free shipping both ways). If the customer service associates weren't busy (as I assume they are), I would call them just to chat!

Great shoes! Feel like my Targhee II's, but look more like Oxfords. Very versatile and comfortable walking shoe.

These are fantastic shoes. They are as comfortable as anything I own, and they look good in that quirky way that Keens look good.

I have been wearing these for about a month as my every day shoes. So far I am happy with them. The support is excellent, I have stopped using inserts and am experiencing no pain. The stitching in the insole takes a little getting used to, but I don't even notice it anymore. I am curious to see if the rubber molding that comes up the front and onto the top of the toe box holds on, or if it starts to pull away from the shoe. All told, good every day walking shoe.

These are great. My feet are a little wider than a D medium width and these shoes fit perfectly. I also have high arches and the shoes have great arch support. The heel on one foot is slightly loose, but thicker socks take care of that. These are winter shoes for me as I mostly wear open sandals the rest of the year. I would buy them again in a heartbeat. Also Zappos is the best. They are the only online shoe store that I use, actually.

Purchased for my husband who is an ER doctor. He is on his feet fro 10-15 hours. He has had foot pain because of shoe pressure with his wide toe box and narrow heel, plus one foot is a half size larger! These shoes eliminated all the pain. They BOTH fit, a miracle, the comfort level is superior to any shoe he's worn. My daughter has the same shape foot and will be buying the womans shoes. His only complaint was the need for an insert, not much arch support, but Zappos has those too.

These appear to be a significant improvement over the Austin Lace-Up w/much better design, construction and quality control. I have many Keen shoes including clogs and sandals (all great). However the (#1321) Austin Lace Up, which is very similar, separated from the sole at the heel almost as soon as I got them, and after a few months of occasional light wear separated at the ball of the foot. Not satisfactory for a shoe at this price. This is not a beautiful shoe, but it is very comfortable.

I'm reluctant to write about shoes because the fit of a shoe is so individual. For me, these shoes are near perfect because they fit so well. They look good too. I wear Keens a lot because I have a wide foot. Some Keens seem to be a little too wide, but these are just right. The shoes are light, a little dressier than an athletic shoe, and polish nicely. If Keens work for you, these will be a great choice.

These seem to run a little large and a little odd looking but I wish I could have worn them. I wear a 7, the smallest size offered. If I could have bought a 6.5 I would have kept them. I think they would be very comfortable, especially for a wider foot. The toe box is very generous.

I bought the Findlay in Shitake Full Grain. It is nothing like the photo. It is an orange color and not brown at all. I exchanged it and it was the same color again, I thought it was a color error. The fit is amazing but that color is way too orange.

These are very comfortable, and my husband loves them. Keens also seem to hold up really well over the long haul. I think these are slightly "old mannish" because of the all black and wide profile, but he thinks they're stylish.
