These sandals, while comfortable for all day wear, are not great for rugged terrain. Grass and dirt gets underfoot easily, and doesn't dislodge easily. The soft sole does not give good support on rocky terrain. I also wish they were easier to slip on and off. But for a casual, waterproof, around town sandal they do just fine.

The Balboa is a cute shoe, though doesn't have the toe protection that other Keens do. That's part of what makes it different, and a little dressier. Unfortunately this shoe has little arch support, which for someone with high arches simply doesn't cut it. I wanted to keep these shoes, I really did, but I could not see myself walking in them all day like I do with my Venice H2. There simply isn't enough support or comfort to warrant the price. I had purchased the yellow, and though it's a nice color, it's a shade or two darker than it comes across on the screen. If you don't need much arch support, these shoes will probably work out fine for you.

I have average size feet and toes. It is a very weird, uncomfortable feeling have some of your toes protected and some of your toes hanging off to the side. I ending up getting a more traditional pair of Keens.

These shoes are okay - not great. They fit, but are not as comfortable with the hard rubber toe as they would be if the toe was open. The only adjustable strap is thin material, doesn't appear to be as well made as other sandals. They are waterproof, which is a good feature.

I really wanted to like these shoes, but like many of the newer Keen models, they don't offer enough forefoot cushioning and no where near the amount of support as, say, the Newport models. I am sadly returning them.

I love Keens and have 3 other pairs but this design is flawed. The modified black rubber toe allows your 2nd and 3rd toe to slip out past it and get stuck. If you stand still they are great - the minute you walk your toes slip over and get stuck there. They are so cute - I was so disappointed to send them back!
