I've been a fan of Keens for years, but I was disappointed with these boots. After light hiking a couple of quarries, the soles are already worn and a large chunk of the rubber sole has torn off! They may be defective, but still not the quality I was expecting from Keen. The fit, however, is excellent as is the arch support, although the ankles took me about a week of continuous use to wear in. Good amount of toe space and fully waterproof even when submerged to just below the ankle. I'd try them again.

I absolutely love these boots! They are incredibly comfortable for backpacking or just regular hiking. The toebox is very roomy which is great for my wide foot. I highly recommend these boots, despite the fact that one of the eyelets for the laces broke off. Zappos sent me a replacement pair with no hassle whatsoever. I love Zappos!

I have had three other Keen shoes and always loved the fit. These fit fine but have a seam directly along the center of the heel. It took only a two hour hike to tear my heels up. I checked and my other Keens aren't designed in the same way. It seems like a serious design flaw. I ended up returning the boots.

Bought for daily use at work. I spend my days stomping around in the flatwoods, which are full of palmettos and cacti and contain lots of hidden holes and stumps to break your ankles on. I was a little doubtful about these light, roomy, and flexible boots. After several years of wearing a pair of stiff, heavy trekking boots, these seemed almost like sneakers. But they're holding up just fine, and they have surprisingly good ankle support. The heel/ankle section is firm without being uncomfortable. They're also, unlike every pair of "waterproof" boots I've owned, actually waterproof! If you, like me, have wide toes and narrow heels, these will be perfect. I normally have to use some creative lacing to give my toes room without my heels sliding around, but these were perfect right out of the box.

These shoes are comfortable right off the box with the exception of the ankle where it is a bit rigid but I expect will relax eventually. I'm a 6 1/2 to 7, so I got a 7 and it allows for a thicker pair of socks to cushion the tighter spot. I had already tried the shoes on before in a store and had made the size decision before ordering based on that. I had not bought the shoes where I tried them because they only had one pair of each size left and each had some defect, lack of quality control I suppose. But I still liked them enough to give it another try. All leather upper hiking boots in that price range are hard to get by in these days and age. I ordered from Zappos because of their shipping policy, so I knew I could return them if these had a problem too. They were perfect and after hiking with them already twice, each time 5 to 6 miles with no blisters! Good on rocky terrain, nice quality leather and very roomy in the front. Happy with my purchase; I've had some REI Monarch boots for over 10 years which I've loved but the sole is almost smooth now. These will replace them now. I own expensive heavy duty boots I keep for backpacking and will be using these for various length day hikes. Highly recommend Zappos for their great service!

I have trouble finding shoes in general. I am a size 5/5.5 so cannot find anything in sports stores who usually carry things in 6+. In addition, a bit wide in the toes and a high in-step. After about 20 some odd pairs, these fit perfectly! I was so excited, I was going to purchase another to bury in my closet, but they’re out of my size so I am now on the notification list. If you have troubles putting your foot into a boot typically, these are the ones. The top three lace holders help to get your foot nice and snug, but allow you to get it in there in the first place. Woo-hoo!

Amazing boot -- I have worn Keen sandals, shoes, and boots for the past 5 years. I never thought I would ever find a shoe company that would be as comfortable as my Bowerman Nike series. I have been a runner for 27 years --only Nikes and Keens have kept me injury free! This boot after a week's wearing feel like bedroom slippers!

I absolutely love my new Keen Pyrenees! Totally comfortable. I usually wear a 7 1/2 size shoe, but with these Keens, an 8 is perfect. I have a high arch/instep, so the fact that they open three hooks down makes taking them off and on easy, and the arch support is superb. I bought them in Syrup, which turns out to be a little more brown than orange. They are more of a cool weather shoe than a warm weather shoe. I will look forward to wearing them again in the Fall.

I usually day-hike in Keen Voyageur (lowcut) -- the most comfortable shoes ever -- but needed waterproof ankle-high boots for a trip. I chose this over the Keen Targhee (too similar to my Voyageurs). The Pyrenees are very comfy (typical Keen in my experience) out of the box and make me happy, but I'm still working on the ankle part, which digs into the front of my ankles. I've had to loosen the top laces significantly (while I'm hiking), but it works, and I'm sure it'll soften. I got these in my normal size (7) -- in Targhees I needed 7.5. The first time out I hiked for 3 hours in the pouring rain with these, and my feet were dry for 2.5 hours, but water started coming in during the last half hour. After that it took 4 days to dry. Overall a winner, though.

A grommet literally fell out into my hand on first lace-up. Defective. But I'm going to order another pair and try again because I love Keen's fit. Normally, they're a good product line!

Not only are these shoes good looking, they are extremely comfortable. Yes,there are tons of hiking boots and I researched practically every one. The Keen boots rock and are the best buy for the money.

Really great fit and feel. 9 fit better than 8.5 and I usually wear 8.5. Super roomy. I passed on them only because I did not need such a heavy duty high ankle boot. I went with the Targhee to meet in the middle. Seems like a great boot, though!

These were comfortable the moment that I put them on. The arch support seems decent and the traction is impressive. I haven't used them in winter weather yet, but I expect that they will work really well. I walk a lot in the winter in the icy and snowy city of Chicago and these seem perfect for the job.

This is a wonderful work shoe for me. I work in a winery and have been looking for a great pair of climbing boots that can withstand getting wet and the random wine spill. These fit the bill. They are also very comfortable. My feet don't hurt after 11 hour work days!

Fabulous hiking boot - I may never buy another brand again. I had a size 6.5 Keen Mary Jane flat and decided to order the 6.5 hiking boot - they were a perfect fit. Even on my first hike (which happened to be in a cave where I trounced through mud and knee-high water) they were extremely comfortable. Kept 100% dry on the inside until I went in water above the top of the shoe. When I got home I threw them in the washing machine, and they came out looking like new. I've been doing moderate hiking ever since and they are still in excellent condition and as comfortable as when I first purchased.

These are great boots - it took only a couple of short walks to break them in. I have bunions and was afraid the boots would aggravate them, but that was not the case.
The boots are plenty roomy in the toe area. I took out the extra arch supports - the support was fine without them. I highly recommend these.

I got these in December after much debate. I had tried them on in a store and wondered about the stiff ankle bit mentioned in other reviews. After two all-day wearings, they softened up and are now quite lovely.
I've worn them pretty much daily since I got them and find that the soft rubber soles do pretty well on ice.
The once reservation I'm having is that the soles and leather are so soft that my yak-trax actually crunch the boot up a bit. But overall it is an excellent boot for a wide foot needing arch support, and if you do not care for or need a heavy stiff hiking boot.
There is enough ankle support and enough flexibility in the lacing to allow for my extremely high instep.

I love these boots! I work in a horse barn where I'm constantly dealing with wet ground, puddles, mud, dirty stalls, etc... Yes, they started a little stiff at the ankles, but after 2 days, they fit wonderfully and have kept my feet dry and warm.

I haven\'t actually hiked in these yet but I know from a previous Keen boot, that this is the only brand that doesn\'t give me blisters. Roomy in the toe area and very comfortable. I\'m expecting these to be a 10. They also are true to size where some Keens run a half size small.

Happy I got these! Almost got the Keens Targhee II but then went in and tried those on along with the Pyrenees. The Pyrenees are stiffer in the ankle, making me feel more secure, and the heel somehow grips better so my foot doesn't move forward and cause my toes to jam at the front. Happy I tried them on first, and clomped around the store for a while before buying. Plus lots of room in toe bed but not too much room.

These needed minimal break in and have served me well. My most recent trip took me to the Oregon Badlands, where they admirably protected me from treacherous lava rocks. These shoes make me a happy camper!

My first hike -my first hiking boots! We walked 84 miles across England and with Smartwool socks and these boots -- blister free! Everyone was amazed. These boots were a perfect fit. I always wear a size 8 and the ankle support was amazing - not one twisted ankle either!

My first pair of hiking boots in a long time and I absolutely love them. I have another pair of Keens (just some generic flat mary janes) in a 6.5 so I went with the 6.5 despite the advice of the other reviewers and they fit perfectly!

I was surprised to see these boots on sale as they are new. I ordered them even though I wasn\'t sure about the leather. I was thinking about one of the other Keen boots, but figured with Zappos great return policy I couldn\'t lose. I was really pleased with the fit and the weight of the boot. It\'s not as heavy as I thought it might be, but give the great Keen support. After wearing them for a couple of days of hiking, my feet felt fine. They are wide enough in the toe box. Order a 1\/2 size larger than usual! Keens and Zappos rock!
