I already own 6 pair of Keen and there is a reason for this, KEEN are wonderful! There is never any 'break-in' time with Keen, just put them on and go. I've hiked the Grand Canyon and done it in my Keen's. They fit true to size and are the most comfortable shoes/boots I've ever owned; I don't think I'd buy any other brand. Zappos is also great, fast shipping and such a wonderful return policy a win-win situation, you can't go wrong.

Love these cute, comfortable boots which I ordered in syrup, a really nice color, and which fit perfectly. They're my fourth pair of Keen's boots and, unlike many Keen customers, the size never varies for me. I always order a size 7, knowing they'll be a perfect fit.

Fabulous boots; so comfortable you can wear them all day. I ordered the same size as my tennis shoes. My orthotics fit and there’s still room for fat wool socks and toe wiggling. These give me a safe tread over ice; I’m delighted.

Comfort right out of the box, excellent tread & traction, adequate support for tough terrain which is my biggest concern on long, rocky trails. Only concern is how hot the boot will be; it feels a bit on the warm side but other than that, it's A+.

I prefer a wider toe box, particularly for hiking, so although these are in many ways great, they don't have as good traction as the old style Keens - and they might be creating a bit of a problem with the middle toes of my (bigger) left foot. Still better than most other brands, but not as good a fit for me as the old Keens. Besides the fit, they are light, flexible, protective, good sole, etc.

I think the size is right in these, but the leather over the toe box digs into my toe when I flex my foot, which could cause problems. The ankle is also really stiff and would take quite a few wears to really break them in.

I am (was?) totally in love with another pair of Keen boots (Targhee II), until I finally wore them out. I was excited to try this 'beefier' looking style, but have tried multiple sizes, and the shoe just doesn't fit my foot well. Hurts where the leather bends at the toe, and seems to dig in at all the wrong places around the ankles. Bummer! I still highly recommend the brand, and perhaps this shoe for people with differently shaped feet. For reference, my feet are normal-narrow, narrow heel, and short straight-across toes.

Very uncomfortable shoes. I tried them on for almost a week, before giving up on them. They were truly uncomfortable and hurt my feel a lot.

LOVE THESE! Typically wear size 6, but did half size up to account for wool socks. Great roomy toe box, very supportive around the ankle, and have worn on rainy hikes and through shallow streams with no leaking. Appreciate the ability to adjust the tightness based on how lace the boot, and the top hooks are tight enough to not catch on hiking pants. The suede is holding up well so far.

I am training for my first half marathon & yesterday, I ran 13½ miles as a training run just to make sure I could do the actual race. Today, I wore these for the first time, to brunch and around the house. My feet today were still sore from the run yesterday, and I have hereditary bunions. These were still so comfortable I'd forget that I had them on! If you are into the way your boots look (and I am super picky about it) then these have you covered on that front as well. They are classic, good-looking, and just as nice with yoga pants as they are with jeans. I wear a 6½ or a 7, depending, and in these I took a 7. I like that they are wide in the toebox. That is a must for comfort for me. The previous reviews helped me to decide on these to replace a nine year old pair of hiking boots; really glad I went with these.

I have been looking for suitable replacements for my beloved Merrell mid-height hiking boots for about five years and was so delighted to find these. They are taller than my old Merrells, but fit my wide feet beautifully. At first I had to adjust the lacing to avoid pressure from the multiple layers of leather at the top of the tongue, but recently that has not been an issue. These boots are lightweight, so they are good for traveling. They are all leather, so durable and resistant to cactus spines. I expected to test their waterproofness with a trip to Olympia but the weather was dry.

I just returned from a six day lodge to hut to hut hike in the White Mountains (having broken in these boots beforehand). These puppies were a dream! I have various podiatric issues (including neuroma surgery, orthotics because of a leg length difference) and I have never had a pair of boots fit, and wear as well as these. Also there were no problems drying out after a drenching rain above treeline. I highly recommend these to anyone!

These are great hiking boots. They take some time to break in but are worth the effort. Love Zappos!

Again, I love Zappos! I discovered the Keen brand at Zappos about 5 years ago and have a closet full now. If you have somewhat wider feet and have painful pressure points you will find this brand the absolutely most comfortable. My husband saw mine and ordered his first pair and now he is a forever customer of the Keen brand. He has a bunion and a hammer toe on the same foot and a previously torn Achilles tendon on the other. He said this is the first pair of shoe that caused him no pain. Zappos service is beyond excellent!

I received my Keen Pyrenees in the mail yesterday and wore them today for a full day of field work. Maybe one hour of break-in time was needed. They are very cushy and hug my heels which are narrow. They do seem a bit wide for my medium-width foot, though. I love the ankle support.

These boots are awesome and true to size, with no blisters, even though I hiked in them right after taking them out of the box. These are a dream come true (comfortable, good traction), and they're actually kinda stylish-looking. I get lots of compliments! I am a 7 1/2 pretty consistently, but got an 8 to accommodate thicker socks. The result was perfect.

The Keen Pyrenees are well-made, water-proof hiking boots. I was worried about them bothering my especially knobby ankle bones, but after a day or two, they fit very comfortably with no irritation. They feel very supportive, but I indicated 'moderate arch support', because my feet have low arches - so I don't like shoes with big-built in arches. I've had them for 3 months.

I have a very challenging time finding a hiking boot for everyday use around the cabin. It took me 7-10 days to break in this boot. At times I almost decided to send them back. Not the boot you put on and you can hike many miles in comfort out of the box. However, I did not give up on the boot, I was creative and changed the way I laced it until the boot was comfortable. Now I lace it the conventional way and I love the boot. In fact I will buy another pair. Just beware it takes time to break in this boot. Good boot for everyday use around rugged terrain or hiking on trails, working in the woods etc. Toes have plenty of room, good traction, plain in style.

I went with my standard shoe size and they fit perfectly - and these boots are wonderful and old-school rugged. I have a wonky ankle, so great support was huge, and these definitely have it. They were stiff and kind of pinched around the top of the boot at first, but that stopped after just a little breaking in. I am loving these boots and look forward to many hikes in them!

Extremely well made hiking boot. + solid construction; will probably last a life time of rugged use. + incredibly comfortable footbed with excellent arch support; foot will not tire easily in these. + excellent arch support + true to size; I usually wear 9 1/2 to 10 women's - Ii ordered the 10's and they fit perfectly: no heel slipping, plenty of toe room. + very "cute" for a hiking boot; I'd get away with wearing these with a dress if I lived in the mountains. - definitely requires a break-in period for the ridged ankle/very stiff against top of ankle-shin area. - very HOT interior because the boot is solid leather (built for snow) and is sealed air-tight; not good for those of us who live down south...unfortunately for me. I will have to return them...reluctantly. What would I do without Dear Zappos' return policy?!

These boots were a fantastic purchase - I have nothing but good things to say about them. The day after I bought them, I hiked up Mt. Defiance; the next weekend, I summitted Mt. St. Helens. Other than some bruising behind my ankles, there were no break-in problems - no blisters or hot spots. I've worn them in pouring rain, sleet and snow, and they've kept my feet dry and comfortable. They have great ankle support and good traction on wet terrain. These boots were great right out of box, and continue to be so.

I have been on a couple of hikes with my new Keen Pyrenees. At first I had to leave the very top laces undone until it softened up a bit, now they're fine. I usually take a 9 1/2 but decided to order a 10 and the fit was perfect, no hitting my toe in the end of the boot. I have very narrow feet and was really worried about the fit but they worked out great and are very comfortable, no blisters at all.

I LOVE this boot. If you are an outdoors woman you would really like the support and comfort. Did not even have to have a break in period! Went hunting and no blisters.

Well, it seems that Keen's quality control has declined. This pair of Pyrenees had a seam at the heel that was very irritating. Other than that the boot was very comfortable and fit well. My old pair of Keens were a 7 1/2, and these felt larger, but ok. Had to return them because of the heel issue. However, I tried 2 more pairs, because I really wanted them to work out, and the fit was different. The 7 1/2 felt even larger, but there was no heel issue. Then I tried a 7, and finally they were perfect right out of the box. Already took them on a hike and they were wonderful. No breaking in necessary. The moral of this story is that if you find a style you like, but some part of the boot doesn't feel right, just order another pair, as they all vary.
