Breaking these shoes in was a chore. The high back on the heel was stiff and dug in for a while irritating my tendons (so it's good I had other pairs of shoes to wear). Once broken in these shoes are very comfortable. They fit snugly but not tightly - I have had them referred to as booties: they hug the foot closely. Style-wise they work well with jeans or sweatpants. I can't see them working too well with dressier slacks.

These are the only style Samba I've ever owned so I cannot compare it to the others but these are very flat. I love the look and style but I only wear them when I know it's going to be a short period of time. There is zero arch support and zero ankle support. I haven't experienced the squeaking that so many other reviewers have; however, I'm quite sure that this was probably the one in a hundred that doesn't squeak; after reading all of these other reviews. These are the kind of shoe that you see someone wearing and you want to know where they got it. I get compliments every time I wear them. I'm a female size 8.5 (man's 7.5) and I have regular width feet. These do run just a smidgen large so next time I would probably go with a half size smaller, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker if I had to stick with the current size. Overall, they're excellent trendy statements and very comfortable if you're not walking a lot. But don't plan on walking the Vegas strip or strolling through Disneyland, you're feet will be begging you to stop

These shoes are not quite as comfortable as the black Sambas, possibly due to the fact that they have got leather heels instead of cloth heels. They also squeak when I walk, as the tongue rubs against the outer shoe leather. Overall they are decent and they look great.

Nice shoe for casual wear or hard surface/turf fields. Typical Samba, except tongue is different. Not as long (which I like) but squeaks. I'm hoping the squeak goes away with more wear.

Comfortable light-weight shoe; would have preferred a bit more arch support. I like the sporty look, as well.

I bought the black/white color and love the look of them. They look good with pants and shorts. The only issue I have with them which is kind of major and wish Adidas would fix is that since they are leather, they squeak. The tongue rubs against the inner lip of the shoe and squeaks as you walk. I was able to take some painters tape and cut out a piece to go on the inside of the shoe to pretty much stop completely. Still... really annoying and could be fixed.

Love the Samba's...ordered them for my son for Christmas and couldn't believe how fast they arrived. Love Zappos!

Upon adorning this pair of tennis shoes, it becomes apparent the intention of this shoe was control and comfort. Everything about this shoe, toe to heel, is sleek and snug. It practically sticks to your foot. I've found these sneakers a little bit uncomfortable to get on; And they are already beginning to wear at the toe a little too much after 1 month of use. However, after a little negotiating between foot and tongue, the shoe fits wonderfully and stays put all day. I found the style satisfyingly classic, but the zig-zag effect for the stripes seems a tad cheesy. Overall, a pretty decent set of kicks, doubly so for its price range.

I bought these as Tai Chi shoes, as I need shoes that help me 'feel' the floor. They are requiring a bit of breaking in, being leather and do squeak at this point, but I'm sure that will ease. They are good for a narrow heel, wider ball of the foot shape, which can be hard to fit.

I remember these shoes were really popular growing up, but I was never cool enough to wear them. A few years later, I am cool enough, so I bought these. I had to return the first pair I bought because they were a bit tight (but that was really easy), and have since gone a half size up. They fit really well now, and are very light shoes. Support is pretty good, but could be maybe a bit better. Buy them, you won't regret it!

I like them, but until broken-in, these shoes are squeaky as heck.

Pros, look great. Pretty comfortable. Great traction. Cons, I would not recommend wearing these shoes for indoor soccer due to the fact that, after only 2 games, parts of the outside have worn out and now look grayish and completely different from the rest of the shoe. Leather squeaks for about 2 days, but not that big of deal Bottom Line: Great looking and feeling shoes if you don't use them for soccer.

I love the look of these shoes. They're extremely stylish, but it's been really hard breaking them in because, as others have said, they're very squeaky for some reason. After the squeakiness goes away they're great!

Got these about two weeks ago, and while I LOVE the shoe itself, I have to mention that it squeaks horribly while walking in them. The tongue rubs up against the leather on the inside and causes a loud annoying squeak anytime you move your feet. I was able to get rid of the squeak by putting tape on the sides of the tongue, but part of me wonders why this is such a big problem with this shoe? Didn't they test it out with people to avoid these types of things? Other than this, I'm super happy with the shoe, it's comfortable and sturdy. Just wish it were quieter!

Not bad, but not as good as the original long tongue Sambas. The materials feel cheaper. Less leather and more synthetic. Hopefully they will improve as they become more broken in.

I walked around NYC in these for a week right after I got them, and I looked cool. They get more comfy after a few days, but never get as so as my new Pumas started. Still I'm glad to put them on almost daily And they squeak. Huh?

It takes a while to break these in. I walk several hours a day at a TrekDesk. I had to change out to other shoes the first few days. After 3 weeks they have been fine all day. These aren't up to the standard of the Samba K that used to be available though. Those were perfect!

Good looking shoe. Fits a little snug where toes are at their widest. Material seems like it's a little sub-par, but you get what you pay for. After almost 2 months, have no experienced squeaking noise that I've read about occurring.

The shoe has a more padded feel than older versions. The leather and other uppers materials are not as good quality as my older kangaroo leather pair. \r\nThe tongue is shorter which is good for daily wear. But the tongue is padded, and this padded tongue rubs against the shoe and makes a constant squishy squeaking noise when you walk. Even if you don\'t mind the noise you can feel the tongue move on your feet, which I find weird and annoying. I don\'t know if this problem will go away with time. \r\nI think the shorter tongue is a nice idea but I think it is a defect in the shoe. Will you learn to ignore it, I dunno.\r\n

Very comfortable, look great, and they fit well with my orthodics. My only complaint is that there is a lot of loud squeaking as I walk around, from where the tongue meets the upper. I'm hoping it will go away soon as I wear the shoe in, but it's been a few weeks now and it's still annoying me.

These shoes look great and fit very well. Even after several weeks they look sparkling white. The only problem that I have with the shoes, and this is a pretty annoying one is how squeaky they are. The plastic like tongue squeaks like crazy when you walk and it rubs against the rest of the shoe. In a normal setting where there is a lot of noise it isn't a problem, but in a quieter setting, it sounds like I'm walking on a bunch of dog toys. In the quiet of the library, the shoes were making so much noise, people stopped their work and stared at what could be so noisy. I'm hoping with more wear the squeaking will stop, but if not I'll try sanding them or something. Besides this one problem, great shoes.
