Salomon shoes are the best. Incredible fit, looks amazing. The best part is you'll be the only person on the block wearing these.

I didn't like this shoe at first. The ankle bone cutouts are higher and less pronounced than the Asics trail runners that I love. After wearing them around the house for awhile I became accustomed to it though. My only other issue is that the toe box is a little roomy, allowing my forefoot to slosh a bit. Asics always fit my foot perfect, so I have been spoiled. Despite the tradeoff, I really like this shoe as a fast hiker. The stability is superb. The AC Skeleton offers a lot of confidence that is absent on most running shoes. The sole has decent protection for Arizona rock gardens as well. My favorite part is the lacing system. It is awesome when your coming down the mountain and things have started to loosen. Just a quick pull and cinch and you're off again.

Excellent shoe. This is the 5th pair our family has purchased. My husband wears them to death working on music tours as a cameraman. I wear them running daily. Can't say enough about these shoes!!!

I'm on my third pair of this version of the XT Wings, which may seem like a lot, but I put about 40 miles a week on them walking the dog on various terrain, and this shoe lasts twice as long as any other I have tried (including Brooks Cascadia, Adidas Response Trail, several New Balance trail runners, Salomon XA Pro, and some abomination of a trail runner by Keen called the Wasatch something or other). For arch support, general lateral support and stability, and durability, the XT Wings beat them all easily. I like a high arch, which these deliver better than any trail runners I've used before, and the stability of the upper as well as the flared-out sole do wonders for my weak ankles, which tend to roll easily. About my only con is that this year's version seems a bit more snug in the toe box, but not enough so to be a problem (I'm a D width). Another huge plus for me is the extra toe protection that comes up over the front. This is the only trail shoe whose upper my toes have not worn a hole through, and the extra protection is a big asset on rocky, uneven terrain. I have had 7 or 8 pair of the various incarnations of the XT Wings over the past four years or so, and I can say they are the best shoe available for my purposes. Even at their rather steep price, they are an excellent value due to their durability and performance. For reference, I'm 6-1, 225 lbs.

I have used the XA Pro 3D for years. Salomon is super durable. When upgrade time came up, I found that the XA Pro 3D runs very narrow, and then I tried these XT Wings in store, and loved it, definitely a wider footbed! I also have weakish ankles, and the sole of the shoe is wider at the back, which helps a lot with ankle support, in keeping your foot planted. I found that the length is half size shorter than the XA Pro 3D. Highly recommended runners, and comfortable everyday shoes! Top service from Zappos as always!

Got a pair of these a couple weeks ago, and absolutely love 'em. Light, comfy, and awesome for trail running.

Had the chance to try these on before purchasing. I generally wear a size 10.5 or 11 in most styles of shoes, but I have a lot of size 11 in my closet (mostly because I'm flatfooted & need shoes with stability). The rep started out with a 10 to work the scale and found the 10.5 was a perfect fit. Doesn't slide forward, greater comfort across the top of the foot-nice and secure. The lacing system is easy to use and seems pretty strong and snag free. Great grip and cushion. Not too lightweight. Got both the Alumin/Blk & Red/Blk. Love these shoes!

Love these shoes! Super comfortable, look awesome, and are great for running in slick conditions. Would suggest trying on a pair in the store, as the sizes run a little different. Generally an 8, but in Salomons I am a 7.5 in womens, and a 7 in mens. Worth the work.

Awesome shoes. Haven't got to try them outside yet due to weather but great on the running track so far.

These have to be my favorite shoes. Or the coolest shoes I have ever bought . It always takes me a few weeks (or even months) to start liking a new pair. I liked these the first day, and I'm so picky. As far as Zappos goes, they are my favorite online shopping go-to store. The best service and you guys ship so fast .

Very comfortable, great lace up system, only downfall is they are very cold outside because of the thin mesh. However, that is in January in Wisconsin. I will be packing them for AZ next week!

I bought these for traveling and trekking around SE Asia. Thus far, they have been great. Choosing only one pair of shoes for 6 months is a difficult decision, but these Salomon's have been extremely versatile. If you are doing any hard core or cold/wet weather hiking then moving up to the goretex version may be better, but I felt that was overkill and made my feet a bit damp for these purposes. Buy a 1/2 size bigger as your feet tend to swell throughout the day.

I've been wearing Salomon Wings since they came out. They are light and comfortable, and provide plenty of traction. If I have any complaint, they are a little too flexible in the shank, and provide slightly inadequate support for longer efforts. I've been replacing the sock liners with super feet, which helps a bit. I really like the lacing system on these (and many other Salomon shoes); it's easy to use and tucks out of the way.

These are among the most comfortable and stable shoes I\'ve had. I\'m just coming off a broken leg, and I wanted a shoe to get around with that provided a safe platform. These have exceeded my expectations.

These are the best pair of tennis shoes my son has had. They keep their shape and still look brand new due to the well-made construction. He plays in them all day because they are so comfortable. The shoes definitely stand out and look better than the rest. I will buy this shoe again and again!

I have been wearing the Salomon XT Wings since they came out 5 years ago and absolutely love them. I run mostly trails but they work great on pavement too. The XT Wings 2 changed slightly and seem to be slightly narrower in the forefoot but are still generous as I prefer more room in my running shoes. What I like about these shoes is the good cushioning, stability, lacing system and they breathe well. About the only complaint is the heel does wear through it's first layer after about 6 months, but the experts say you should change your shoes at this interval anyway.

Very comfortable shoe with just the right amount of support. Well constructed and very lightweight. The breathability is superior. In fact, on one extremely windy day I could actually feel the air transfer through the shoe.

More snug and comfortable than the XA Pro 3D Ultras I have. Awesome looking shoes. Very comfortable fit. Bought 1 pair to wear, one pair to stock up. Out of all the colors, the Autobahn/Black/Sprout Green looks best.

I think that Salomon shoes fit me very well. The toe box is very breathable. However, if waterproofing is important to you, definitely get the Gore Tex version instead.

Shoes are great. Bought to replace an older pair of Salomons and these don’t dissatisfy. Fit is on the narrow side which works well for me, true to shoe size as well. I like the rubber end cap over the toe on these better than the other models. Seems less likely to peel back.

Great shoes - this is my 2nd pair of XT Wings first pair of XT 2's. The 2's don't seem to be as well made or made of as high a quality materials as the first version. Still fit very well and look great. We'll see how well they hold up compared to the previous version. Salomon makes some killer shoes! I'm sure after I break these in they'll be my favorite pair just like my last pair I finally wore completely out.

This is my second pair of XT Wings 2. Overall, I really like this shoe for trail running. It works for road running but isn't great. I have run in all weather and terrain conditions with these and they definitely stand up to the abuse. The one issue I started to have with my old pair is the lace started to create a pressure point in my left foot. The laces are like wire so it kind of compressed all the cushion after so much use. The new pair seems to be fine.

As a powerlifter who weighs 250, I need a shoe that can handle the heavy body weight. I found this shoe to be amazing; the arch support and stability is second to none. the quick lace system is awesome as well. I do not run trails but use this as a gym shoe for in gym aerobics and cross training, it is perfect for those applications.
