Very comfortable boots. Wore them all day walking around at a festival the second time I wore them and they didn't hurt at all. I got my normal size, and they fit perfectly with normal socks. I went a half size down with my other Fryes and I can only wear them with trouser socks - so for me they are true to size. I got the chocolate vintage leather and the distressing is gorgeous in real life. Sort of a taupe-brown that can be worn with anything.

I ordered a size 8 which is what I wear in Frye Carson. Very, very, very hard to get on. Finally did get it on, but thought a 1/2 size up was necessary to save all the sweating. Great customer service. The 8 1/2 was hard to get on the first time but that's about it and they look great and are comfortable.

These boots rock! I ordered in my usual size and they were perfect. I like to wear heavier socks and wanted to have enough room. I had no problem getting the boots on and just a little getting them off, which you would expect with tall slip-on boots. The leather is wonderful and the color in Fawn is a beautiful neutral, goes with brown and black. Plus the color is just different enough that they make a statement!

The boots flare slightly at the top, absolutely the wrong look for someone who is 5'1. The flare isn't evident in the front and back views: if I had detected it I wouldn't have ordered them. But great boots for a taller person!

I love these boots. I had been on the hunt for the perfect flat boot for three seasons and finally found them! I chose the black for a classic equestrian boot rather than a cowgirl look. You, too, will love these shoes!

I loved this boot so much, color was perfect, quality and fit outstanding, but the curve in the boot for the calf was too low on my calf and looked odd.

Love these shoes. For me they were true to size. It is hard to get them on the first few times because the leather does not stretch immediately.

The Bordeaux color is beautiful; very versatile. The leather was supple right out of the box, unlike other boots I tried before. Expensive, yes, but something you can wear year in/out for a very long time.

I wanted these boots for a long time. After a recent trip to NY where I saw a woman wearing them on the subway I knew I had to have them for myself. I am on a constant hunt for boots that are stylish yet comfortable and these are perfect for both purposes. They have a classic, equestrian style that will be chic for a long time. I typically wear between a 6.5 and a 7 and listened to other reviewers and bought the 6.5. They fit like a dream right out of the box and have molded perfectly to my foot. My foot typically swells a bit after lots of walking but they are comfortable throughout the day. BTW: I love Zappos! It's amazing to me that I can order something and receive my package a day or two later! Fantastic service with a reputable company!

This shoe is comfortable and stylish. This pair will get me through the cold winter in New York.

These boots are magical. I have been searching for the "perfect" boots for the better part of decade now, and I finally dropped the big bucks for these Fryes and I have to say it was worth it. I wasn't sure when I first received them, since they seemed a little too stiff and shiny, and I kind of felt like I was wearing rain galoshes made of thick leather. But I wore them around the house a little, and they started to grow on me. I wore them around the house for about a week before going outside, just to get the leather a little more flexible. They mold to your feet and legs over time. A couple of other reviews complained about the curve in the back. I agree, I could do without it. It doesn't hit the curve of my calf in the right place. But it's subtle and doesn't take away from this being a five star boot. I have long, thin legs and part of my struggle in the boot search has been to find tall boots that don't look like I'm swimming in them. Finally! Oh, and I think they are true to size. If I had gone a size down they would be seriously pinching the tops of my toes.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these boots!!!! I ordered a bunch of Frye's because I couldn't decide and these were the winners by a landslide! Perfect dark brown color - just the right amount of distressing. Fit like a glove the minute I put them on and I have somewhat wide feet. I ordered my true size and I am so glad I did - if my foot was narrow I could see how a 1/2 size smaller would be better. I have a hard time finding boots that don't stick out far from my calves - these are perfect!!!! Skinny jeans tuck right in! Not slouchy, just a gorgeous boot that is very versatile! Some of the other styles were too casual but the Melissa's can be dressed up a little but also look fabulous with jeans and a sweater! I couldn't be happier with them!! Well worth the money!!!

I bought these boots (dark brown) and they are gorgeous. I have had compliments galore, from work colleagues to strangers on the street...and that was in the first two weeks of wearing them. The boots fit so well but they do stretch so buy them tight. They are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I love these boots! Zappos made it so easy.

Love this boot! The color fawn is perfect with everything. Looks great over skinny jeans or cargos. The boot is really comfy once you get it on! Getting on and off was tough at first, but got easier the more I wore them.

Oh, but is this a pretty color boot (natural brush off). I have a substantial calf but this boot works. I will not be able to tuck in my jeans, but it is darling with skirts and tho somewhat boxy it shapes my calf well. Am now on the hunt for a cowboy Frye boot and will only consider Zappos and they make it so easy!

These boots are easily the best purchase I have ever made. I was a little hesitant to spend so much money on a pair of boots, but I am so glad I did. I wear them everywhere. They're great for work under my dress pants and I wear them out over my jeans or with a cute dress. Also, the compliments I get on them aren't too bad either. I am definitely planning on buying another pair in a darker color in the very near future (mine are Natural Brush Off).

These boots are amazing! I had to replace a pair that my dog chewed up and had been eying these for a while. Finally decided to bite the bullet and buy these and they are worth every penny. They're a little tricky to get on the first couple of times, but they are easily the most comfortable boots I've ever owned (my previous favorites were a pair of UGG leather boots that are no longer available anywhere in my size) and they provide a lot of support. My calves are average size and I was still able to get my jeans tucked into the boots with a little bit of room to spare.Combined with Zappos' amazing service (I bought the pair, then noticed they went on-sale in a different color for a little cheaper and the Customer Service Rep on the chat client exchanged them and upgraded my shipping) I am super pleased with this purchase.

I really love these boots. This is my first pair of Frye boots, and I will definitely get another pair (after a good period of saving, of course). They look so classy and so much nicer than any other pair of boots I've had, and I can tell they'll age well. A few people have commented that the boot hits at a lower than expected height. I noticed this too, but my husband said he really liked where they hit. I think they look a bit cowboy-influenced. One note, I ordered the dark brown, and the color was lighter than I expected.

These boots rock. I\'ve wanted a pair of boots in this particular color for years and these jumped out at me. I have honestly never paid so much for a pair of shoes of any kind, but these are worth it! Super comfortable and once you wear them a few times the leather becomes very soft and almost pliable. They look super hot with skinny jeans or skirts. You can\'t go wrong with Frye quality and these will not disappoint.

These boots are beautiful. But, order a 1/2 size down to be sure. I am a seven and am exchanging them for the 6.5. The light caramel color is so pretty and you can wear them all year round. As always, Zappos and its staff are hands down the best. Thanks Zappos. I never shop in shoe stores anymore. They have everything and the staff rocks.

I've been wanting to get a pair of Frye boots for a long time, but I couldn't decide whether to get the Melissa, the Carson Tall, or the Jane, plus I was having trouble justifying the expense. When I got my income tax refund (thanks Uncle Sam!) I broke down and bought the Melissa Button in brown. They are beautiful, and look, feel, and wear like high-quality, classic boots. Comfortable, no trouble getting on or off my foot. The leather sole is slippery, but that's minor. I guess I'm the right height (5'3") for these boots because they hug my calf very well and come up about 3 inches below my knees. I'm still figuring out what clothes look best with these boots, I think the button tabs make my legs look a little stumpy but I'll get over it because these boots are otherwise gorgeous.

My Melissa Button Boots arrived today. I ordered light brown brush off. The color is gorgeous, the grey brush off over the brown leather gives them more of a vintage feel, although they are definitely very classy. These boots are timeless! They feel comfortable from the first wear. I am 5'7 and they are almost to my knees. I had no trouble pulling them on, in fact I have quite a bit of room. Can't wait to rock these babies with leggings, skinny jeans, or even with dresses. My huband thought they looked HOT! Thankyou again Zappos!
