Best boots ever! I love the fit and very comfortable. Frye is my favorite brand. This is my 3rd pair of Frye boots and worth the extra money. Love Zappos too...service is excellent.

Frye boots are classic. Definitely worth the money. They are well made and very comfortable. Living in the Northeast boots are a must. I already own a pair in dark brown and couldn't resist another pair in black.

I'm between 6.5 to 7, mainly a 7, but I can fit in a 7.5 in some other shoes as well. I guess I have "larger than average calves", 15 inches in circumference at the largest point. I had to cancel these shoes from Zappos because I just knew they wouldn't fit. So I ordered the Extended Calf from Amazon. Zappos was so incredibly nice about it! Great customer service! Anyways I ordered the Extended Calf in 7.5 because I wanted to wear thick socks with them. And they look amaizng! The Extended Calf allows me to wear some skinny jeans with the boots. When worn with leggings, the boots have a tad more room. I am very short, around 5 feet, and these boots come up to two inches under my knees. All in all, great boot, it's expensive, but it's genuine leather, and these will definitely last you a long time if you take care of them. I took mine to the cobbler to put a rubber sole on the bottom (because there is nothing on the bottom of these boots), but now I'm thinking I was supposed to say "treading"...but the half rubber soles will do for now. And I also got them weatherproof. I bought the leather conditioner from Frye, but the cobbler said it will make it greasy. So I just let the cobbler do their thing, and my boots were weatherproofed without being greasy. I did keep the Frye leather conditioner because I wanted to "jazz up" my other old leather items. Enjoy! I will definitely go back to Frye if I need another pair of leather boots!

These are my absolute favorite boots. The quality is absolutely amazing. The boots are so comfortable and look great with everything. Frye is by far my favorite brand, and these boots are my favorites from Frye.

These are great boots! They were a little snug and I probably could have gone up a 1/2 size. I have been able to stretch them out with some effort.

Frye Boots are always worth the money. They are great look with skinny jeans. I find them very comfortable to walk long distance in once you have them broken in, that takes a few times.

Beautiful boots, amazing craftsmanship! I went with the antique cognac and they are the perfect color to go with everything. They took a little breaking in but I love them. The left boot is still hard to get on but has gotten easier. I know I will have and wear these for years to come.

The nicest, most comfortable boot I've ever owned. A friend of mine owns a pair of Frye Boots that are over 15 years old and even though this boot is expensive, I can see why my friend recommended this boot to me. I originally ordered a Size 6.5 but I couldn't pull the boot over my high arch, so I ordered a Size 7...the boot went right over my arch and formed to my foot after wearing it twice. It's a little loose in the heel, but I have extraordinary narrow heels as well, so no complaint, just insight. I highly recommend wearing a trouser-pant sock with these boots, not too thick, not too thin. The price justifies the quality of this boot, an investment I'll enjoy for years. Excellent product, Frye!

These boots are gorgeous! Super trendy, comfortable and true to size. Beware - the sole feels a bit slippery at first but I've heard over time that goes away and tractions evens out. I am so excited, my first pair of Frye boots and they will surely not be the last. I got grey color in vintage soft leather. The color is perfect. The toe is ever so slightly faded (which I love) and the color will go with everything. It has a hint of brownish in the grey. Go for it! (Can't wait to order this same boot in Cognac!)

My calves are so big( I'm a hiker) but my foot size are 5 1/2, so my legs never fit for long boots, usually I can't zip up all the way. I doubted that I can pull my legs in without zipper but gave it try to order this Frye boots size 6. First day I wore them bear foot in my house for 4h, there was no room around my calves, tight. Second day I put tights on and wore boots half day, it was tight in the morning but got comfortable by noon. Third day, put knee high thick socks on then wore boots, it was really tight first but by the end of the day the boots were adjusted my legs already. 4th day I put short socks and long knee high socks over them so that I thought it maybe stretch more on my toe area. Sure it did. 5th day I tried to wear my 5 toe socks with skinny jeans... I was nurses to put my leg into the boots, but it went down! Now I can easily wear them with jeans and 5toe socks on, like my skin and part of my body! Not only that but the heel cups are great support too, fits perfect around my heel. I am very very proud of myself I bought them! Its a miracle for me. So don't worry if you have tiny feet and big calves. This boots are for you!

These are my 8th pair of Frye Boots. I am addicted to everything Frye! I ordered these in the wine color which is a very deep red with a hint of berry/purplish-ness to it. Gorgeous! I have very skinny calves and many Frye's don't work for me but these boots are snug if I wear them tugged into jeans. So if you have skinny calves and these are a good choice for you. If your calves are muscular, these will definitely not work. They are borderline tight on me. True to size in every other respect, though. Pretty comfy as far as Frye's go (my Dorado's are the most comfortable but these run close behind) and don't require much in the way of breaking in.

This is my first pair of Frye boots, but I'm pretty sure it won't be the last. After reading the other reviews, encouraging me to "keep trying" if I couldn't get these on (or off!) right away, I decided I would take that advice. It took me a good 3-4 tries but once they were on, they fit perfectly. I am a pretty true 7.5, so ordered the 7.5 in the Melissa Button style. The first day I wore them, I had them on for the entire day (14 hours) without a problem. I have flat feet, so really can't speak much to the arch support but as I said, I wore them all day without an issue. Do wear slip guards, though. I nearly broke my neck walking on the hardwoods at home. Love this boot!

These boots are beautiful. I adore the distressed finish on these! Mine did not look like the photo. The distressed areas in the images above are a warm brown. My boots came looking dried out and the distressing was an off-white/grayish color and really obvious. I picked up brown shoe polish and now they look as beautiful as the images above! The leather is so soft and supple. I love that after a few wears, they slouch a bit like a paid of perfect, old boots. The only reason for 4 stars on comfort is because the hard soles give no cushion. Otherwise, love these.

I took a chance on these boots. I knew I would love them under normal circumstances, but I took them to Europe with me without having ever worn them. Probably a dumb thing to do, but Frye's did not disappoint. They were incredibly comfortable from the first day. I walked many, many miles in them -- in rain, cold, etc. They have already become quite "lived in" looking and only look better in my opinion. The cognac is a simply lovely color. I wore them with skinny jeans and leggings and both worked fine. I think I have average calves - not skinny, not too "athletic," and I had no problem. Also, a tip for readers that a friend gave me when I was frustrated trying to get them onto my foot (to get over that little hump before your heel goes into the heel socket): there are two loops on the top (one on each side) that are there for a reason: use them to pull your foot into the boot while wiggling it. It works -- and I was frustrated enough that I was afraid I would have to send them back. So glad I didn't.

I couldn't wait to receive these boots and there was no disappointment when they arrived. They are a great fit, and are beautifully made. I love them so much that I bought them in black the very next day!

I wanted a dark brown boot and Frye had so many choices, but these were great. When I first opened them up, they had a white wax all over them, but after reading the label, it comes off with a wet rag very easily. I have a 5.5 shoe size but have a wide foot, so I ordered the 6 - big mistake. I ordered the 5.5 and it fit like a glove. The shaft fit fine too. I've worn the boots twice and they already seemed to have stretched into a comfortable fit. Great craftsmanship and durable, high quality leather.

The boot quality was nice and it's the best boot I've tried on. However, it's not perfect and at this price it should be perfect. It might be perfect for your legs, but just not what exactly I was looking for. I ordered the soft vintage black and it looked boring. I think another color in this boot would bring out its details more. Overall, this boot is nice quality, fit really well.

The light brown is much lighter than the picture. I had to send them back; the color was so different than what was pictured. The quality and fit were excellent.

I love these boots. They are the most comfortable pair I've ever owned. The quality is excellent. The soles are made of real leather so they don't have the rough bottoms a plastic or rubber sole that cheaper less quality boots tend to have. If you need traction for snowy weather buy snow grips or cleats to attach to your boots. Since they don't have a side zipper you won't have water seeping in so your feet stay dry in messy weather. They were perfect width for me in the foot and leg area but I don't have large calves. It was refreshing to find a pair of boots that weren't huge in the shaft.

This boot fits true to size, quality is excellent, support very comfortable. Well made. Worth every dollar. These boots will outlive you. I have 4 other Frye boots, with maintenance they will always look new. Zappos is A-1 customer service. I purchased the dark brown brush off, have little red tone. Beautiful but I exchanged them for dark brown soft antique, they are a solid dark brown. These I love, classy looking.

I love these boots! I got the 8.5 and originally ordered an 8 but they were way to snug around my toes. The 8.5 fits perfect. I got the light brown and they are a classic color. They also fit great with skinny jeans tucked in.

I haven't yet had an opportunity to wear my new Frye boots yet (it's still in the 80s here despite being October), but they arrived super fast and look AMAZING. Tried them on and they fit great. A little tight around the calf at first but being genuine leather I have a feeling they'll stretch and form to my legs nicely. Really excited to start wearing these once it really feels like fall!

I love my boots! As other people have written, these boots are slippery on the bottom when they are right out of the box. However, after 5 minutes outside walking around and they are perfect. No longer slippery. The leather is thick and great quality. I love pairing these with skinny jeans.

My new boots just arrived. Wow Chocolate Vintage Leather is a gorgeous color! I wear 8-1/2 M and this is what i ordered. They are slightly tight on my right pinky toe although they just came out of the box. I'm assuming they will break in. Really pretty and unique looking.
