I was replacing my favorite pair of Teva Mush flip flops. These are nice, but really too much of a shoe as opposed to a flip flop.
I returned them and got another pair of Mush.

seems like Teva has changed from the old sandals of 2005. Less material on the top means less comfortable and quicker product deterioration. Try more and exceed your customer expectations over production costs.

I bought the Katavi as a replacement for the Teva Elixer 5, a fantastic flip-flop that I've literally taken around the world and has served me well even for long treks on all sorts of terrain. The Katavi is no substitute - I have a high arch and the strap of the Katavi was constantly very tight on my foot, whereas the strap of the Elixer is virtually inperceptable when my foot is resting yet provided great support when in needed. I returned my Katavis and will mend my last pair of Elixers until 2012 when Teva plans to reissue it.

I like the arch, but feel this is overpriced for today's economy. $30.00 max

The previous styles of the Katavi Thong were much better, the wider straps and better fitting shoe. This year's style just does not have the comfort or style and I am very disappointed in them. I have been wearing the Katavi Thong for many years and have recommended them to many people, not this year. For the price the quality, comfort, and style just to not compare to a couple of years ago.
PLEASE BRING BACK THE PREVIOS STYLES!!!

Compared to the elixir this sandal is thinner, shorter and less substantial. A real step down in comfort and quality. Why Teva stopped making the elixir is beyond me, it was a nice combination of support, comfort and style.
Maybe the next iteration will be worth buying, I can't recommend this one.

Three generations ago, I would have rated the Katavi five stars. The reason for the lower rating is that there is less padding under the strap, and the strap has become thinner in width, providing less support and coverage which is VERY noticable when taking these sandals offroad when approaching the water or climbing over rocks. It seems that the designers have cheapened and taken away traits that made this once a great sandal and made it on par with thongs that are usually found at a lower price. There are also lots of missing aesthetic details that have been done away with as well as the double stitching on the strap. The lowers and tread are still great, but Teva needs to go back to the drawing table. The price is still the same, but now you get less. Once I wear these out, I will be looking at other brands. I am currently on my fourth pair.

I have for several years been a devoted user of Teva thongs of this same type, but I was very disappointed by the new ones. They are lacking the foot contouring and arch support of the prior models. I don't understand why they are going backwards.

This is supposed to replace the ELIXER! Not even close. ELixer straps held the foot securely against the footbed, which allowed for maximum flip flop performance; and made the ELixer unique in a sea of flip flops. The Katavi is now just another flip flop.
Disappointed,

I've liked your products (despite the high cost) but after SEVERAL weeks I was contacted to tell me you can't fill the full order and it will be MONTHS before you can. Perhaps if you did not rely on foreign manufacturing you could be more customer focused.

These are horrible. The fit is too tight or sloppy. Heal falls off platform of medial side(inner) of sandal. Sent it back for different pair hoping it was a defect...nope. Same thing. Got charged to ship back the second time. No thanks teva.

We have bought Teva's for many years and used to love them-these only lasted a year. The glue came off and the lining inside curled inward. Customer service said we were out of warranty and could do nothing. Will not buy again.

Super disappointing. My husband has owned a pair of Teva sandals for a few years and they are starting to look worn out, so I decided to order him a new pair. His other pair fit him perfectly from day one and were super comfortable. He can't even get his foot halfway into these.

I use this product on a daily basis. I have owned 3 sets. The Last 2 sets I have owned the straps have come unglued from the bottom. The last set the soles came unglued and the straps. The company has made them good on both occasions but the first pair I owned lasted me over 10 years. The last 2 sets haven't lasted but a little over a year. So my question is what has changed in the manufacturing process? I'm hoping the next set they send me will last a long time.

Im am shocked at how poorly these are made. The footbed is already separating from the sole and these are less than a month old. My old ones held up for several years! I can only attribute this to poor glue and cheap manufacturing. A sad commentary on a once great brand.

Was a great product but has been cheapened to the point of not being worth a purchase. I have own many pairs over the years and will never buy them again until the corporation decides that good quality and durability is part of the criteria for production. If you get them wet the glue that keeps the tops in the bottoms fails and one or more attachment points come loose.

Getting ready to send my 2nd pair back. I have issues with the nylon thread used to sew the arch straps rubbing a raw spot on the outside of my foot.

I have returned at least 6 pairs of this shoe! While Teva has been great about returns / exchanges, I will NEVER get this shoe again! They are super comfortable but what's the point if they don't last 2 weeks? My last two pairs lasted 2 weeks and 10 days respectively. As soon as you get them wet the sole delaminates or the side straps pull through the sole. Do NOT buy these shoes unless you plan to wear them only to the mall...

I am a woman and bought these because I needed good arch support, durability and a sole that would handle traction well. I do not have the luxury of having a store carrying Teva products and ordered these online due to their good reviews. The size I ordered would normally be a half size too large but these actually felt one size too small width wise. The straps were incredibly snug and only loosened up slightly after using them for a bit. The length itself is perfect but with the strap issue, they are pretty much worthless to me.

Have worn Teva for years, but this style has a smaller foot strap and the shoe is narrower than previous model.
