Great shoe. Heel slipped even though I ordered almost a full size down from what I normally am. Also, the shoe felt tight on my foot around the middle at first, but the leather just had to stretch out.

I have hard to fit feet and have tried many brands of footwear over the years. I think Frye makes some of the most comfortable shoes with a very high level of craftsmanship. They're not cheap...but in this instance, you get what you pay for.

Well, I have had these shoes for about six months. I had the same pair last year, but the metal bar in the sole broke, making a squeaking sound every time I stepped. I returned them, and got a replacement pair. The replacement pair have been utter failures as well. The tongue stitching on the left boot has fallen apart, the heel broke off the right boot while walking to my office after two months, the stitching on the sole has come undone, and the rubber part of the sole has split in two on the right boot. All in all, I can safely say that I will never purchase another pair of Frye's again. At the absurd prices that they are selling them for, you expect some kind of satisfaction for quality. Before you chalk this up to one bad experience, I can also mention my girlfriend's Frye boots which arrived in the box with all kinds of stitching falling apart. Also, I had purchased another pair of Fryes around the same time which also suffer from inferior stitching. Do they look cool? Yeah. But they are definitely not worth the money they are asking for. They have been a headache to own since I bought them. Frye boots are awful quality and overpriced.

Maybe the perfect shoe/boot. Arrived early, and in perfect packaging. They have quickly become my favorite footwear. Easy to brush clean, great with jeans. They were comfortable right out of the box.

This shoe is very high quality and comfortable out of the box. Whoever it was that complained about this shoe being stiff must spend most of their time in house slippers.

Excellent boot; very comfortable and great looking. I am very pleased with the quality of construction and materials used. As always, Zappos service was superb.

These boots are really the business. They are as versatile as I've seen for use as casual or business dress might not work with a suit, but anything else and you're styling. They are all-day comfortable, and fit true to size. I normally require width beyond most D designations, but these worked just fine. One small thing I've noticed is that the lacing seems to feel a little loose at the top, even after I've cinched them down. There's no heel slippage, and all else is snug. In short, it made no difference but thought I would mention it. All in all, I recommend these boots highly. Oh yes, should add that the compliments from the ladies are fairly constant regarding these boots!

I love these boots. Great quality and style. I'll buy them again in the future when the ones I have wear out.

Beautiful mens shoe for casual wear. Runs 1/2 to 1 size small. The pair I ordered had a slight green discoloration on one shoe, but I assume specific to the leather and not indicative of overall quality. Very soft, heel slips slightly.

I've been happy with these chukkas. They do run about 1/2 size small. They're comfortable to walk-in and look great for work. The only downside is that the sole will clearly not last very long walking esp. the NYC sidewalks. Comfort is okay, not great. I also bought the Timberland eco chukka boot but returned them as the sole is flimsy and these Frye chukkas are more comfy to walk in.

Great boot, except for people like me with narrow heels. I had to pay my shoe guy to glue in padding mid heel so I could wear them. Now I find them amazing.

This is a solid boot. I love the color and the feel. The heel and sole are wooden when walking it feels well made. It looks good with everything and is perfect for the winter minus the rain. My only problem with it is the distressed color look in the front and back of the boot. It makes the boot look dirty. Sometimes I feel as if I purchased an pricey dirty boot. I guess distressed is in though.

Fantastic pair of chukka's. Great style, and they break in quickly. The boot definitely runs a half size big. I had to return my 10.5's for 10's, and I never wear a size 10.

This is a great versatile Chukka Boot! Real nice leather, well made and very easy to break in. They look great with jeans, khaki's or even dress pants. I'm normally a size 9.5, but had to return them for a 9. Zappo's service was very fast with free returns. In fact, they bumped me up to 1 day shipping on the return!

These are true to size and a very high quality shoe. However, they are a touch pricey.

I love these shoes. They look great. Unfortunately, I had to return two pairs because the heels loudly squeaked. Weird. I decided this must be either a natural feature of the way this shoe is manufactured, or I just was unlucky in receiving two pairs from a squeaky batch.

I've had these about a month now and have worn them at least once or twice a week, but they still feel like brand-new shoes. The sole is still as stiff as a board, and the uppers aren't much better. They're tiring to wear. I noticed today that I'm already rubbing through the insole padding. Deeply underwhelming, though attractive.

I loved the look of these boots, and wore them several days a week. However, after a couple of months, the right shoe had developed a squeaking somewhere inside the sole, maybe where two layers rub together. It is loud and annoying, so much so that my coworkers joke that they can hear me coming. The rubber insert on the sole wore out quickly, also. I would not buy another pair of these.

I loved these shoes for the first 3 months I had them until the rubber insert on the sole split! The styling and construction is very good, but apparently they used low quality rubber for the sole. I still wear them, but am sure that I will have to have the soles replaced long before they should. Beware of this when you purchase. I expect more from this priced shoe.

Wonderful looking for first few months, but the rubber sole is quickly worn out, I'm down to the bottom now after wearing a few days a week for 3 months, and the wood is easily scratched and isn't solid wood, but particle board type construction with a fake surface to make it look like layers of wood. Think Ikea furniture in an expensive shoe. Not worth it!

I ordered these boots in the fatigue color. The boots arrived next day! That was fast. They look great and are well made. The color is nice and match up with every pair of jeans. You can wear them not only for formal dress but also with a causal look. I have been looking for a nice chukka for long time and was tempting between Frye and John Varvatos. Finally, I made a right decision. If you like well made boots, and neat looked style then you should go for this Frye boot. If you are looking for more trendy boots then you should go for Varvatos.
