I bought a pair of these almost 2 years ago and I can't say enough good about them. I wear them when I ride my horses, I wear them around the farm, and I wear them to town. I've stepped in water with these on and my feet stayed dry. Also the leather still looked perfect after a quick wipe-down. They've gotten stepped on (by a horse) scuffed, scraped, scratched, and they still look amazing. Getting another pair!!!

I have had plantar fasciitis for quite some time, so finding good work shoes is always difficult when you're not allowed to wear sneakers. These shoes are the only shoes thus far that give me any level of comfort. Something about the way the heel cup is designed is what seems to be the magic. Be advised, no matter what anyone else says about this shoe, that you should order it at least one size smaller. I only discovered this when I bought my first pair a few years ago at a western wear store and actually tried them on before buying. I am normally a women's size 9.5, and I was able to fit into an 8B. I could have gone a half size larger at most. I've bought this in several colors and now have the greatest work shoes ever!

A great hiking boot that's not too heavy to wear in warmer weather.

Aaaaah!
This is the MOST comfortable shoe/boot I have ever put on my sore, tired, worn feet. The first pair I purchased was when I went to find a pair of paddock boots to ride in but when I tried the Ariat Terrain on I forgot about the paddock boots! I just couldn't take them off. And I have used them for riding western out on trails...thank goodness because when my horse went lame I had to dismount and walk. With the foot problems I have I would never have been able to walk the distance I did in my regular boots. THESE ARE GREAT SHOES FOR COMFORT...BUY THEM AND WHEN YOU PUT THEM ON YOU WILL SAY AAAAAH ALSO.

I usually wear a size 8 wide. These boots are narrow which is great if you have slender feet. I do not. The wide felt like a medium width. If you have wide feet or bunions this is not the boot for you.

Great boot for all around ranch work, very comfortable from the start. Runs big, plenty of room in my normal size. Zappos is great!

Ariat Terrain boots rock!
I have a horrible time finding comfortable light hiking boots. The Ariat Terrain fits the bill wonderfully! They are comfortable right out of the box, excellent support, good cushioning. I had no fatigue even after a full day of walking and standing. For some reason, I take a half-size smaller than my normal size in Ariat boots and shoes. Everyone else is saying they run true-to-size, but that's not the case for me. I usually wear an 8.5 or 9, but in Ariat 8 fits me perfectly.

I have to start by saying that I LOVE the fit of the terrains, and I have been a loyal Ariat customer my whole adult life. I have tried every Ariat boot I could get my hands on, and because of my wide feet, these are the only boots that reliably fit. It's such a terrible feeling to buy a pair of boots online only to get them home and realize they won't fit. The only reason Ive been hunting for a new option is that I've run through 3 pairs of terrains in 3 years. The spot where the plastic toe guard meets the leather begins to rip. The sole of my newest pair began to come off after two wears. I've since glued it, but for this price, I would hope to get more than a month out of the shoe. Not to mention the amount of waste in producing a boot that will be trashed in less than a year. I would spend more money if I knew of a boot that would actually work for my hard-to-fit feet. As it is now, I'm considering leaving the brand to find a sturdier boot elsewhere.

I'm a crop adjuster and walk uneven fields most day, sometimes get wet and muddy, these boots never let me down. Very comfortable, been wearing them for about 15 years and have them in every color. I like them all!!! Also use them in construction work and checking cattle, very versatile. The sizing is different than normal though, i wear a 6.5 in Ariat and others 7.5. I rarely wear any other shoes even though I have a ton.

Believe the hype. These are great barn boots: comfortable, warm yet not hot, convenient with a heel for those catch rides. Wish they came in the Taupe color that the non-waterproof comes in, but settled on the Copper.

I have a hard time finding boots that don't rub my plates and screws in my ankle but yet give me enough support with flexibility, I absolutely love this boot!! Not only are they super comfortable to ride and work in they offer a lot of support and my feet do not hurt

This is my favorite hiking boot! The stability if offers is great for hiking in the mountains over all kinds of surfaces and gives me all day comfort. I wore these for the third time out on a 8 mile hike in the Tahoe mountains and didn't have any blisters at the end of the day.

The Ariat Terrain Boot is a must have for anyone who does a lot of outdoor work! From the first time you put them on they're comfortable, no breaking-in period, hard to find in a leather boot!!
As a horse owner I'm outside a lot in all types of weather. This boot is so versatile that I can ride in them, clean up the barn, walk thru the snow or mud to take hay out. Ariat does have another options in both their waterproof and insulated boots but for Virginia weather I find the Terrain does everything I want a boot to do.
I just bought the black Terrains and I love the look. My previous Terrains were the distressed brown and had to be retired after 12 years of hard work and only replaced the shoe laces once. That's what I call durable!

I have been wearing this style of boot for years and love it. I have a pair for the barn and one for all other occasions. Durable and looks good.

i'm just getting over a plantar fasciitis in my foot. I thought I would have to wait a while before I could wear these boots. Surprisingly, I can wear them now. There is great arch support and heel padding.

These boots are my every day go to boots. I live in the desert and work out in the summer heat. These boots stay comfortable for my 8 hour day. The only thing that could make them better is if they had slip/oil proof soles. I have done one or two slip and slid dance moves walking across a slippery surface.

This boot slips on and hugs my foot; with its good arch support I can wear them 10 hours a day and not get blisters. They are attractive, easy to maintain with leather cleaner, and have worn well. This boot looks good under a skirt as well as in the saddle. It doesn't matter your ability to ride or not these boots work for everyday wear. My advice is to get them in more then one color. Nice boots for the price.

I can wear these boots at work on hard, concrete floors 10-12 hours at a time and my feet won't hurt. They are light weight. They have great ankle support. They keep my arch raised. I couldn't get through a work week without them.

Fantastic fit. I wear an 11, but as others who wear that size know, it can be a moving target, often just a tad too short. And, most manufacturers seem to think if you have long feet they are wide as well. This boot was so comfortable I've barely taken them off since they arrived. Perfect 11 fit from a length perspective, and the width, while wide enough to wear a pair of warm socks, doesn't feel like I'm wearing the boxes the boots came in. Extremely well made! Great product!

I purchased this boot to wear for long walks in the city during the winter months. I wear a 6.5 medium width and the boot fit right out of the box. The arch support felt good and the toe box was wide, and really liked the durability of the leather. The boot is heavier and stiffer around the ankle than the Keen Kaci style I purchased earlier this year from Zappos, but thought for sure this was a keeper. I wore around the house for a few hours and in the late afternoon I started to feel a tightness around the top of the boot, pressing down across the width of my right foot.Even though the laces were not tight , later that night I experienced foot cramps. I really like the arch support in this boot but had to return as the top aggravated my neuropathy.

OUTSTANDING!!! Outta the box, EXTREMELY comfortable! The most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. The best arch support. My heels are held snug in a cup. Ankles are perfectly supported, to minimize trips & falls on the ranch. Thank Ariat!
I live on a small 20 acre ranch. However this small 20 acre ranch, has an unpredictably huge workload demands. The land is never perfectly flat and my Ariat Terran H2O have saved me from a few falls in mud. Sometimes, staying upright can make or break a day! Thank Ariat!
Ranch tested, Ariat Terran H2O really are waterproof. Thank Ariat!
These are my second pair. My previous 1.5 year old pair were still working quite well on the ranch. I wouldn't have bought the second pair, if they had not encountered my puppy. They are NOT puppy proof.
I am terribly hard on shoes. I am a heavy hard working woman. At 66 years old, I can't afford a fall. So, the outstanding stability factor of this work boot is much appreciated. Thank Ariat!
As the chief cook, bottle washer, & maid, I really appreciate that the soles do NOT track in pebbles, dirt, mud, manure, & snow in the house. Thank Ariat!
I rarely write reviews, but the Ariat Terran H2O are just that awesome. Thank Ariat!
