Bought this hat for my husband in the herringbone fabric. To get the real traditional newsboy style, I bought it oversized. He loves it and gets so many compliments on it. The Brood line is very well constructed and has a small amount of quilting inside making it a perfect dressy winter hat.

Had trouble deciding between the L and XL, but went with the L (7 1/2). Fits my head perfectly but may be a bit on the small side. May try another one in XL because I like it so much. Really cool hat though! Brixton = quality + style.

I like the hat, not a big fan of the snap on the bill, it creates a little bump in the fabric; I feel it could have been left out. There was also no washing instructions; I am guessing dry clean only, but I don't really know. Also can be a little itchy at times. I still wear it everyday.

When I lost my favorite hat, my wife ordered this one for me as its replacement. I am very happy with this hat. It fits well and it looks good, too.

I purchased this for a senior friend of mine to replace a similar hat he had lost. He's a dapper gentleman so it fit him well. I was impressed with the quality materials and craftsmanship. He seems to like it too! Also, since I ordered too large a size initially, I was pleased with the quick turnaround time for a new size.

Very nice. It's a Newsboy Cap from Brixton. It runs slightly large. I wear 7.5. I ordered a large size but there were still some rooms. I didn't go size down though it still fits well. Quality seems also very good. It looks simple and stylish.

I bought this for a friend of mine and he absolutely loved it! I ordered it days before Christmas and it was delivered in time and Zappos kept me up to date with emails on the delivery status. Great service, great product, I would recommend Zappos.

Great newsboy style hat, I liked it much much better than any others I tried on. I had a hard time finding this classic style as many are too modernized in shape & color. It's a better fit for women than the versions by Goorin Bros. This style will work for men too.

This is a great hat. I have been looking for one like this for quite a while, and couldn't be more pleased with my selection. It is very well constructed, very comfortable to wear, and in my opinion looks great.

This is the baddest hat I own and I have around 10 now. Four of them are from the fine peeps at Brixton. The comfort and style are second to none...that red satin inner-lining just adds a bit of subtle coolness.

This is a beautiful wool hat of excellent quality. I bought it for my son who is doing some civilian Civil War-era re-enacting. I am notoriously difficult to please, and I would recommend this item to anyone who is looking for this style. What impressed me the most was the lovely quilted lining. This is not a thin, low-quality item. Very nice!

Well, we all have different tastes and likes. I can say that this hat looks like a quality cool weather hat, just as I wanted. I am fussy about how I want my hats to fold and slant. I put three stitches in the top of mine to make it more like I want it to look. You might like it stock. That's the trouble with ordering hats over the net if your fussy. Sometimes they look good or better and sometimes they don't look right. This hat appears to be made well enough and looks nice.

The XL fitting is a nice hat for a guy who suffers from Big Head Syndrome, and knows how hit and miss "large" sizes can turn out to be. All in all I wish from a stylistic point of view it was a little bigger in over-all shape, but strictly in terms of sizing, it fit me snugly and didn't look like I was wearing a one-size-too-small hat. Looks fine worn forwards or backwards. Kind of stating the obvious but the black will show the dirt over time. Not the ideal hat to tuck into your bag when you're not wearing it, if it's gonna get a little dusty. All in all though, good hat.

I love Brixton Broods but their cuts fluctuate. I now own 5 different colors in the Brood and not 1 is the same. The sizing is consistent but the fit is off. This particular Olive color that I received was very deep covering my ears, if I lifted it, it flops over and has a very baggy look to it. I'm going to send it back for an exchange, I hope that the next one I get is a better fit.

Just got this hat in the mail...man, I love me some Brixton. When the wife and I go out dancin' I always get a kind word in regard to my Brixtons. Maybe one day they'll say the same about my dancing skills. I'll take what I can get!

This just didn't look right when I tried it at home. It looks better in the picture. But the shape and the style looked rather cheap and not-so-good in real. The brim with the snap button closure was particularly odd. I had purchased the Grey/Black Herringbone and the quality of the fabric looked cheap. Perhaps the other caps may be better.

I received my hat and I loved it. The first day I wore it, the button broke off. The soldering wasn't very good to begin with. I had my wife sew that part and it is great.

A low review but don't get me wrong! The first one I bought was from a boutique in Chicago. Was sized 7 1/2 and if fit perfectly. I wore it out and ordered a replacement direct from Brixton. Same size. It was too big. I ordered another from Zappos. Same size. AGAIN, too big. I want to order another a size smaller but afraid it might be too small. Overall, I love that hat. Frustrated with the sizing though.

I got this as a gift for my boyfriend, but even in the packaging it looked way too bulky. I usually am good at picking out gifts, but this was a no. It looked like even a smaller size wouldn't change the overall bulky design.

Big disappointment, returned immediately. Firstly, sizing is not accurate. I'm a 7 1/8 hat size and the Med. 7 1/4 in this cap is very big on me, I can get 2 fingers side by side in front of my forehead. More importantly, very disappointed in the quality and the Zappos description of item. Description said the brown/khaki herringbone model is "50% wool, 50% viscose". On the sewn-in tag it says the fabric is "95% polyester, 5% wool." So instead of getting a quality wool blend cap that I expected, I got a cheap, thin polyester weave that neither has the feel, appearance, water-repellency, anti-microbial odor properties, nor the warmth of a quality wool blend. The hat looks OK from a distance, but there is a gigantic difference between 5% and 50% wool for wearing in northern U.S. winter weather. The only thing positive I can say is that the hat lining is quite nice, and the sewing is decent. Based on my search here and in brick and mortar department stores like Macy's and Nordstrom's it is very difficult to find a quality men's wool cap these days, because everything seems to be from China seems and pretty low quality. I'll be driving downtown to a local specialty hat store...

I bought the tan herringbone Brood several years ago and was very happy with it. I needed a new hat in black so thought I'd give the Brood another try in the grey/black herringbone. Unfortunately the quality is not the same as it was a few years back. The material is noticeably thinner and the hat doesn't keep its shape...instead it looks flat and floppy. There is no comparison between my old Brood and the new one. Very disappointed.
