I wore these in Chicago through 6in of snow. They are warm and I found them to be very comfortable. I stepped into a puddle by accident and some water did enter the shoe. I think some water got in through the laces but it felt some came in around the toes. It wasn't a lot of water considering how deep my foot went in. Fit is good, a little tight, but breaking in has helped a lot.

Hubby wanted a boot that could be worn with jeans& trousers. These are great for both. You can dress them up or down. They might be narrow if your guy has ludicrously wide feet like my husband. Overall a real nice boot.

Bought these boots for working events for my small business, wanted something dresser than standard shoes but not dress shoes. These are very comfortable with soft cushioned inserts and a mild heel. They have almost a bounce to them as you walk, I was pleasantly surprised. I have stood for 3-4 hour periods of time with no foot pain. I have fallen arches and relatively flat feet and these out of the box were comfortable. The canvas type material is very stiff out of the box so expect a few days wear for it to loosen up. The fit and finish is top notch and they really look sharp. I can tell these will last me a few years easy. If you have even slightly wide feet I would order up 1/2 a size.

Awesome shoe. I'm often on my feet for the whole day and these shoes are so comfortable I hardly even consider them boots. Very stylish, as well. Would highly recommend.

Immediately upon my first wear, these shoes vaulted to my "Top Casual Brown" shoe list, making all other casual brown shoes (and even a few pairs of sneakers) a bit jealous. Sometimes at night, I can hear the other shoes plotting against these fine and comfortable kicks...but these shoes can hold their own, I tell you. Comfortable sole with favorable arch support, and a killer casual look that says "I'm fixing to tackle the wilderness, but first let me send out some work emails."

Possibly the most comfortable boots/shoes I have owned in quite a while. I would recommend these without reservation.

I've had these boots for a couple of years now, and they've held up very well. I wear them to work everyday (on my feet, lots of lifting), and they stay comfortable for my entire shift. I got them in the brown/tan color, and I get tons of compliments on how good they look too. They've kept my feet reasonably dry in rain and snow; the only real downer is that the material isn't very thick or lined, so they're not very warm.

I bought these for my son, who commutes to high school on public transportation. We have had 50+ inches of snow and these are holding up well. He likes how they look and he is very picky.

Great boots! This boot provides the perfect mix of rugged and dress boot. Look great with jeans and with khakis. Very comfortable for a stiffer style boot. I have received several complements on them in just the short period of time I have owned them. Warm enough for winter use in day to day activity. The waxed canvas is unique and really sets the boot apart from its other leather components. However, they work very well together to give you the boot that is totally functional yet different then most other boots out there.

Overall a fairly comfortable, decent quality shoe. Seems well built and should last. The tread is not very deep, however, and may wear off before rest of boot wears. Fits true to size. My only gripe is with the style. I was expecting the "waxed canvas" to have more sheen. It's rather dull and has more of a contrast to the leather than the picture shows. Makes the look more casual overall. Also, it's more of a cheaper boot than what I paid...and it's made in China.

I've received a lot of compliments on these boots and they fit great. The biggest complaint I have is that they don't breathe at all, so your foot gets very sweaty. Not hot, just sweaty. Otherwise it's a well made, great fitting boot.

Great pair of boots. I got them in brown, and so far they've proven to be warm in stacks of snow. They also look really nice, although a little more "plain" than I was expecting. The leather trim is much closer to the other brown than it looks in the picture, but I still love 'em.

These boots are great. They feel true to size. They are perhaps a touch narrow in the front, but I have not broken them in yet. They provide good support, and they feel very lively when walking. My only complaint I could register is that there are no boot straps, so you really have to open up the laces to pull them on.

Beautiful shoes! The instep is a little snug, so one might want to purchase theirs a size larger to accommodate. I will be buying another pair (one size larger).

I bought these and am pleased with the style, but for some reason one boot was more narrow than the other. Also, made in China.

Without back pull tabs impossible to put on without unlacing to the bottom. They look nice but the struggle is just not worth the effort.

Great look, poor function - Living in Michigan, I bought these boots with the intent of wearing them on my snowy walks to work. However, I quickly noticed a severe deficiency in their performance: they have no water protection whatsoever. Day after day, I pull soaking wet socks out of the now moldy-funked boots. I'm not mountain climbing here; I'm walking on snow-covered sidewalks. If the designers intended that these "boots" only be worn inside, they ought to have called them slippers. Thanks to RJ Colt's poor product, I am now in the process of spending dollars on ANOTHER pair of boots. This time, I'll be sticking with a brand whose performance is guaranteed: The North Face. Please save yourself the hassle and pass on this product.

These run a little small in the entrance portion of the shoe. You really need to open them up. I went up an extra size for them to fit. Comfortable and well constructed.

Everyday all-occasion boot. Break in wasn't too painful. I do NOT recommend getting a bigger size. After breaking them in they now fit like a glove and most of the time I don't even lace them up. They stay stay clean too. I mowed grass in them and it didn't show.

Shoes are great. Very comfortable. They go well as black or brown shoes.

Very good looking shoe. It is not the most comfortable. My left rubs hard on the top of my foot. They are starting to loosen up a bit.

Excellent boot for both comfort and style. Possibly the best one for the price available. Ignore the advice of another review who must be new to the world of laces, because if it is too much work to loosen your shoe before you put it on, then you need to stick with Velcro and slippers.
