I absolutely love these boots. I also have a pair of the gtx boots, but living in Florida means I get swamp foot. Not with these boots though. Super comfortable and breathable.

This is a great warm/hot weather hiking or work boot. Since it is not gore tex lined, your feet breathe better in dry hot conditions. I bought this because the fit is similar to the Low Renegade GTX which I will use on the Inca Trail and my 2nd trip to Kiliminjaro, but I needed the Zephyr to do my training in Houston during the summer and fall. I subsequently have used them though for activities such as moving heavy boxes where the support is important. have received many compliments on the looks and I have raved about the comfort and fit to everyone that has asked. I did replace the insoles with Superfeet Green but I do that with pretty much everything. Can't go wrong with this boot.

First, let me start by saying this is an excellent, breathable boot that is great for hiking in hot weather. The arch support is top notch and it is by far the most comfortable boot I have ever bought. Now for the good news. I orginally bought a name brand od id-sized hiking boot because my plan was to put on some serious hiking miles this summer. When the arrived I tried them out for a couple of days on the trails near my house and have to say I was not impressed with the arch support of this big name hiking boot. Now for the great news. I called customer support and explained my prediciment. He asked me if I had another shoe in mind and I did. What blew me away was not only did he not mind that I wore the boot twice but he told me he would not charge me the 30.00 dollar difference in price,(the new ones were 30.00 dollars more)and that I would have them on my doorstep the next day. He came through in flying colors and I now have I great pair pf hiking boots! Excellent customer service and a now a life-long customer! Thank You. Ken Best

Awesome boots - extremely comfortable - best fitting new boots to date - only had them 2 weeks so need to wear them more to rate durability but so far Lowa's are a keeper.

The Lowa Zephr TF is an awesome boot. It strikes a good balance between the comfort of a trail runner, and the stability of an off-trail hiking boot. I have been hiking/running with 15-30 lb loads and they have performed well. I had previously worn two pair of the regular Zephrs, which are good, but the TF model has an extra nylon stiffener plate, which makes a big difference when carrying loads. The surprising thing is that you can also run in them, with pretty much the same comfort and support of most typical running shoes, yet they have the extra support for carrying loads when required. TF Zephrs are rapidly becoming my go-to footwear.

I love these boots! I hike 5 to 10+ miles regularly in the Arizona desert. I've tried quite a few boots. These are by far the most comfortable. Lightweight, breathable, good ankle support. The sole of the boot is not as durable as some other materials but I believe the comfort is worth the trade off.

Avid hiker, I have many pairs of hiking boots. Ordered 1 full size larger, the fit was spot on . Very comfortable out of the box, no toe jam when decending, width is comfortable with no foot movement. I only have about five miles on these boots, so far this is the most comfortable boots out of box, I have purchased.

I have narrow feet and normally get 10.5 and normal width, which is listed at Medium. The boots fit like a glove and had enough space in front of my toes. I have not hiked in them yet. I have a collapsed metatarsal arch. Lowa is one of the few brands I can wear, the other is Vasque.

Great pair of boots, comfortable right out of the box with little to no break in period. Ordered a full size larger and they fit perfectly. Will purchase again.

A friend told me about these boots before I went to training so I thought that I would give them a shot. I bought two pairs so I could rotate them out. I trained, pre-training, in them and literally pounded the hell out of them and took them to training with me. I did close to 100 miles total in each boot averaging a 55 pound ruck between prep and training, some rain, some sand, and lots of dirt and rocks. Never once did I have an issue other than a broken lace (luckily I always carry spares). I did retire them though after training. These boots are light, tough and 100 percent quality. While other guys were dealing with tearing and ripping boots, I was rucking. I definitely recommend them, but pay attention to the size. They run narrow and short.

This is my first pair of Lowa boots and so far I am very pleased with my purchase. I ordered half a size larger than I normally wear based on other recommendations. They fit my feet just right!

OK, Normally wear a 10.5 and I read the reviews and ordered a 1/2 size larger boot size 11. Guess I should have ordered a full size larger because the size 11 was still a bit too snug. Overall these boots are very light weight and look to breath well. Only a 2 star for comfort so when replacement pair gets here I will revisit this review to cover comfort and wear-ability. As a footnote I have been buying shoes and boots from Zappos for a bunch of years and I would rather by footwear from Zappos online than a brick and mortar store, great customer service, large selection and reasonable prices. This is my second pair of these fantastic boots - and I hope it won't be my last. They break in quickly, provide excellent support for hiking as well as much more dynamic movement, and stay cool. I only wish they could be re-soled...but that's a compromise I will gladly make!

These are fantastic. Order half a size larger. They are like house shoes to put on and take off. The laces tighten easier than anything. They are light and comfortable. I have yet to find a negative. I think that you will really like them.

I ordered several pairs of hiking boots for my husband and this is the pair he kept. He has narrow feet and they fit him really well. He has a lot of foot/back issues and after hours of wearing these he comments that he doesn't hurt. He uses them as a member of a search and rescue team, so comfort is a huge factor.

I have owned these boots for about a year now, and love them. They are the most comfortable boot I've ever worn. The quality is as expected from LOWA. The sizing for me was perfect, I wear 13, ordered 13, and they fit like a glove. If you are considering these boots, rest assured you won't regret the purchase.

I had to retire my old boots after many years, and many miles in them. It was a sad day. Until I got these bad boys. They are a fine looking boot, very lightweight, and comfortable as can be! There was no 'break in' time. Right out of the box, I felt like I could take on a mountain (and did!) I couldn't be happier with these boots.

I have used them for several long days in 100+ temps without discomfort. Driving, walking, carrying stuff. I wanted a stable cool boot for dry and warm days. This is it!

I have had these boots in the GTX version for about two years. I love them. I wear them almost every day. They are tough, and comfortable. I have three minor complaints. 1.) The laces break easily. I replaced them with paracord and have not looked back. 2.) The tread is awesome on dry ground, but sucks on wet surfaces. Beware. 3.) The footbeds are not that great and wear out fairly quickly. After two years of daily use, they still look great on the inside, but they are starting to fall apart on the inside. This is to be expected. They lasted much longer than I thought they would.

I wore those in Afghanistan. In the Army for 15 years. Best boots I ever put on my feet. Will last about 8 months of active combat. Worth every cent.

I just finished a five hour hike on dirt, rocks (dry and wet), and tree trunks with these boots without having broken them in before hand and they were very comfortable. They wrapped around my feet like a pair of socks, felt so light, gave good traction, and provided good support all around. I think they looked pretty cool too -- desert camo! Highly recommended.

Fit very good true to size. Difficult to put on due to high eyelets rather than wrap around on the top two eyelets but got better as they were broken in

This boot was purchased for trekking in the Himalayas and worn daily for 3 weeks during the trek. Superfeet insoles were installed. The trails were combo of dirt, rock, scree , boulder fields and (unexpected) snow. Pros- light weight, dry out quickly when wet, good midsole support, boot is sufficiently stiff for moderate side slope hiking, the boots breath well. Cons- sole wore very quickly with chunks ripped out of the tread - sole would wear out long before the rest of the boot, not water resistant ( no Gortex ), included laces require frequent retightening, difficult to tighten top of boot around the ankle enough to keep trail debris out. Summary, other than unreasonably rapid sole wear, the boot is sufficient for light/moderate use in dry conditions.
